    Jooshy, keep these coming, they are great - unique unfussy informative style - fills a significant gap.

    This is what I need - casual, informative, and a great amount of information. We love the technical explanations. Subbed - keep it up.

    Thanks for this… I’m feeling less guilty now about rebuilding a VW engine with Ali Express parts! It just didn’t make financial sense to use OEM. When they arrived some had VW stamps and part numbers anyway! Who knows if they are real but 1000 miles later and all is good. Good no nonsense content.. love the organised garage.. much like mine.

      I mean the Chinese build a hell of a lot of cars so I guess they really can’t be that bad.. I’m going to MOT the beemer and drive it for a bit and see what’s what

    As someone who recently purchased an n57 using 1l of oil every 1k miles with apparently nothing wrong I’ve enjoyed watching the video this time and have saved it for when I’m rebuilding it

      weirdly bmw will say thats normal! - its most certainly not! - i bet its had crap oil changes and the oil control rings are stuck - try a good oil engine flush a couple of times and good quality oil - you might get lucky and it get better..

    Hi, the solution on the N57 is rasing the oilpressure, by changing the gear on the oilpump and a shorter chain. Then all 35d, 40d and 50d lives forever, like the M57 engine.

    i rebuilt my audi engine 3.2 fsi with chinese parts, and the engine runs perfect and the quality of the chinese parts was very good, i have been driving it for 3 years now, and it has become a great engine.

    Since 2015 bmw cranks have been made in the bmw/bba plant in shenyang china. Its a good chance these are from there.
    There are not many places in the world that have the correct press and forging equipment.

    Dimension wise that crank will be good, what it's made from; Chineseium is the most popular material over there.

  • @britbongj

    Chinese manufacturing seems to have improved a lot, the main reason they are so cheap is labour, so long as material is the same and you find a good supplier with decent quality control there's really no issue

    Can you recommend anyone in North Yorkshire that specialises in L322 3.6 tdv8 gearboxes and torque converters? It’s the earlier 6 speed type. I have a feeling the torque converter is starting to slip slightly despite changing fluid etc. Car only covered 112000. Great channel btw.

      I’ve not had to rebuild any auto boxes yet so I don’t unfortunately.. speak to Tom Lenthall I’m sure he can recommend someone!

      @ I agree, I’m approx 200 miles away otherwise I’d leave it with Tom. For some strange reason Autoalex and V2 have blocked me from commenting on the channels. Bit disappointing since I followed Alex from Car Throttle days.

    Hiya , come along to sub to your channel as I like your presenting style. Knowledgeable, fun and well spoken! I had an e39 530d back in the day , brilliant engine. The let down was the gm sourced auto box, wish they’d used a ZF

    A wild Jooshy has appeared. Your garage is so much more organised than mine and that is saying something. What ever happened to the blue mx5? Dumb BMW engineering is why I stopped working on BMWs, Toyotas are way nicer. Good video.

      @jooshy  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I sold the mx5 to a mate, he built it into an off-roader

    Chinese parts have a history of bad reputation mainly because back in the early 2000's, the quality was sub poor. Now, quality is just as good as aftermarket. You get to save a lot of cash that you can throw elsewhere.

    • @jooshy
      @jooshy  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah! - well they also make millions of cars which have comparable quality to some European stuff now which is impressive!

    From personal experience you will be luck if you get more than 10k km on it, it have been proved that this cranks are no good, they flex a lot under power. That is too tight, it have to spin with your finger. That will not last 100km like that.

    • @jooshy
      @jooshy  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh totally! If I was building it properly I would have measured ring gaps, bearing clearances and everything else! - I’ve completely lost interest with it, I just need it running so I can chuck it in to wbac or similar!

  • @KarelBeelaertsvanBlokland
    @KarelBeelaertsvanBlokland 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

    In general Chinese parts have less quality. I would never harm a car's longevity by replacing engine parts with Chinese parts...

    • @jooshy
      @jooshy  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would have measured everything if I was keeping it.. I just need the cheapest way of getting it running so I can sell it to wbac or similar!
