I love my new ranger I wish I would have gotten those rims for mine I have a 2019 XLT package and chrome package super cab model with the fx4 package and couldn't be happier with it it has 15,000 miles on it now and hands down the best mid size truck I've ever owned

To me the Ford Ranger is kinda ummm not the best truck I’ve seen. I really love the Honda Ridgeline. I would recommend it. It gives you good space and the power source. That’s what makes the Ridgeline very good to me. Thank you so much for reviewing the Ridgeline love you.

if the Lariat cost around 45 grand, be prepared to pay at least 50+ grand for the Raptor trim
basically a baby Raptor of the F150 Raptor.
You are so very right, but as of now it is not coming to the states.
I don't know. IMO, these Lariats are over market/over priced. Maybe early adoptors will pay 45K for this but later on in the Summer, there will be heavy discounts. I was offered a 41K for a loaded Chevy ZR2 and that can do better offroad then a full size raptor. And easily I may add because of its size and its advanced 4 shock system and front and back lockers which are not even available on the full size raptor no less. You can get a full size Z71 with leather/bose steps bed liner, 4X4, auto locker for under 40K. The Ranger is a nice truck but I can't see paying 5K more for it. Same goes for the Toyota. Fully loaded offroaders go for about 40K. With competition like that the lariat's 45K price will soon be a hard sell.

You are easily the best reviewer on TH-cam....and I must say you have the best camera man too!!!! I really like that glossy carbon smoke trim....like you said they should have brought that down to the center stack area. The cab sounded kind of loud in the video. How loud was it in person?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think a "power sliding rear window" is an option in any trim level. The best I can find in the Ford Ranger build webpage is a manual slider.
BTW, may also say that I HATE dealers that stick a dealer decal on the vehicle itself!

I don't mind as long as its just a sticker. I bought a Nissan a few years back and was taking delivery. They said they would take it back and wash and get it ready. I told them don't bother putting the sticker on it. I'll take it right off. Sure enough, 20 minutes later they drive it up with the sticker. I looked at the two employee's and asked them if they are hard of hearing or just morons. Peeled the sticker off and drove off.

The canyon and Colorado have that with their power seats too. The recline is manual. The frontier at 14 years old is available with 8 power seats that include recline and a power sunroof. How does that make any sense?

Thanks for the long awaited review. You mentioned good visibility out the back the also with the side mirrors. How was the forward visibility? Those A pillars didn't look too bad, so I assume there were no issues. Also, I think you missed a shot of the window sticker. Sometimes we like to see those. @@nabatron21 No worries. Toyota at the very least will fix the 3.5/6 speed transmission mess. The Ranger with its buttery smooth 10 speed and one more competitor in the segment is going to expose the tacoma weaknesses more then ever. Plus GM will offer a completely refreshed Colorado next year. Toyota has no choice. I can already say that many will leave the taco for the Ranger. Allot of people like the Ford brand. Toyota is already sweating beads over this. And I'm sure at the very least they are working on a new 8 speed for the taco. Something they should have done years ago.

Great review and nice truck , dirt and all. Not bad 0-60 for a 4. Will probably have tuning options being that it is a mustang engine. Metal bumpers are awesome. Maybe someday we will be able to get chrome ones!

What's the price point for the 2019 Ford RANGER LARIAT?
Does it have PORT and DIRECT injectors? If not, you will have to deal with carbon buildup down the road which isn't cheap.

That's a good point, the Ranger is going to suffer from carbon build up issues in the future.
I will wait for the re-design. This model is a decade old already. it is proably second oldest oldest design being offered in America with Nissans Frontier being the oldest. Not sure about chevy Colorado but its fairly old as well. Tacoma was recently refreshed. I dont like the ranger Lariat's for one reason. I dont like the gauge cluster layout. Just a single speedometer, but have to digitally select a digital display RPM gauge. I have put together what I need/want in a Ranger. I want XLT Ranger with the 302-A option package. If I can get that for less than 35k and to include a bedliner, 35k total, all fees and costs included, 35k turn key I would seriously consider that.
They are a great tradesman's vehicle, a lot of the guys that do the pickups from the place I work drive these. We had a problem with them though, Ford didn't block off the area where the particulate filter sits (DPF). A lot of tradies work in areas with long wild grass and it would accumulate around the inside of the opening and set on fire, even worse it was setting fire to the field as well lol. I think ford recalled them and added a brush guard, I'm not sure if they have it standard on the 2019 one would think so now its a known problem.
Its just funny the fact where ever the Ranger went fire would soon follow HAHAHA...

Market didn’t dry up that’s why Tacoma blew up so much when ford dropped the ranger, Toyota picked up where ford quit. Ford just wanted to make as much as they possibly could out of f150s.
Edit:Ranger will reign supreme once again in about 1 to 2 years Toyotas already playing catch-up.

Toyota has a very loyal following. What I see more then anything is Toyota finally refreshing the hot mess they have with the current 3.5 and six speed setup. Look for finally a 8 speed or something like that to fix the odd shifting mess it currently has. But brand loyalty is insane with Toyota. The strongest in fact. Also don't count GM out of this either. They are expected to have a completely refreshed truck next year. If so, that will be the most modern design in the segment. Toyota's design dates back to 2016 and the engine/transmission has been crap from day one on that. The new Ranger is not new. Not even remotely so. It's still primarily the Australian T6 dating back to 2012. The front end needs a face lift badly. Its the ugliest in the bunch. The prior T6 before the minor refresh in 2015 looked better. I owned a 2014 XLT and preferred that to this new America Ranger that is pretty boring to say the least. Some minor changes need to take place on the Ranger. First the smallish buttons in the cabin have to go. They are small and hard to read while driving and just bad. A long carry over from a bad design at Ford. In comparison, the larger, easy to use layout on the Colorado is a breath of fresh air in comparison. Secondly, Ford needs to finally design the back seat to fold flat. As it is it folds half ways at an angle. Completely useless to haul things inside. The tail gate needs to be dampened. I know its not a huge deal but at this price point it is. And the competition offers it for less money. Which brings me to the price point. Its way off. Ford is not going to own toy/gm if they continue to sell the Ranger for 5K more then their comparably equipped models. This final factor, price, is Fords undoing as far as taking over the segment. Initially they will sell the trucks at higher margins to the early adopters. But by summer, its going to be a hard sell to get people to fork out 45K for a lariat or 40K for a XLT that has base radio and cloth interior. When a dealer down the street will offer you a loaded ZR2 for 41K or a loaded out Z71 with every option for under 40K Same goes for Toyota offroaders. Fully loaded models with leather, JBL, and sunroof for about 40K. Anyone shopping for a mid size truck will quickly realize that they can live without adaptive cruise control. They may think it's pretty nifty, but they will not pay 5K more to get it.
Also should mention that Fords bundling of options is a complete joke. If you want leather, or the upgraded B&O stereo options you have to order the top trim/lariat. So your locked into a 45K dollar price just to get into something with leather. This is completely separated from how the competition offers these options. Toytota sports, Colorado LT's Z71 etc.. all allow for more flexible bundling of options to allow the consumer to just order what they need. In contrast, Ford bundles the most popular options on the fully padded truck. Meaning you run up into an all or nothing scenario. And this mess of the bundling is why I ordered a loaded Colorado LT. Because I refused to pay 45K to get the few things I wanted. With tax it would have been over 47K As it is I'm getting everything I wanted with the Colorado including tax for well under 40K. The price point and bundles are completely wacked on the Ranger. And this from somebody that owned a global Ranger.

@@ericd1632 My bad. But yeah, its crap. Test drove it twice. I guess the second time because I couldn't believe Toyota would knowingly put out such a pile. But second time around about two weeks later confirmed that indeed, its a horrid tune for motor/trans. They can put out all the TSB updates they want. Its won't help. Needs more gears like what GM did with the Colorado.
