Love the framing of this video, with the shelves to your sides and in the background. Looks Awesome! I do think the music was too loud though, makes your voice fall to the background sometimes.
Hey Ryley, speaking of Eyeshield 21, I managed to finally get all the volumes and I think a perfect time to start it would be when the NFL seasons starts. Great video once again.
I see Psyren in the thumbnail and I have no choice but to watch lol. This is actually the second time EVER that I've heard anyone talk about the series. I started reading it because I went into a new bookstore and the first volume was the only manga they had so it just made me SUPER curious so I had to buy it
This could sound like a personal question so feel free to ignore it but every time you have a new video, I always wonder what your job could possibly be. You always get crazy hauls and even have a crazier collection!
Great haul as always! I remember you said in a TikTok you could read Spanish, so now that you want to dive into more works from the Gekiga I definitely recommend 'Los locos del Gekiga', by Masahiko Matsumoto, one of the founders of the Gekiga movement. It's basically a narration of how he met the other co-founders, Yoshihiro Tatsumi and Takao Saito, and their struggles to becoming mangakas in Osaka in the late 1950's. It's been released fairly recently, but I think it's a must read.
Good job holding the volumes up in the air for a while, while talking about them, and not putting them down immediately. This is a small detail, but helps immensely with the navigation of the video! I'm saying that because that's an issue I encountered with a lot of related content on youtube.
I read that first volume of Fist of the North Star cover to cover at Barnes & Noble. I loved it so much that I bought it and pre-ordered the 2nd. I figure if I'm able to buy them as they come out, it'll be better than dropping a bunch of money at once on them at the same time. One manga of note that really interested me here was Cobra. I love classic pulpy sci-fi, and that one looks like a fantastic precursor to something like Cowboy Bebop.
Haha, my entire collection is 127 volumes now and you get 140 in 2 months. I hope one day I'll be able to support this hobby of mine like that as well. Small steps so far, but I'm happy with what I have. Your collection updates are always fun to watch.
Awesome video! I definitely need to keep an eye out for those Shin Devilman comic books, my devilman manga is my favourite part of my collection so thanks for that😂
I'm definitely looking forward to more gekiga pickups (am maybe reviews?) from you. Abandon the Old In Tokyo is really good. Looks like you have the hardcover edition. Don't forget to look out for the other 2 accompanying volumes 'The Push Man and Other Stories' and 'Goodbye'
Horikoshi’s other manga is called Oumagadoki Zoo, I totally agree Viz should give it an English release, I’m planning to check it out for Manga Crash’s Shonen Jump Manga Reading Challenge
Not sure if you've run into this but Amazon doesn't take care of the packages in transit. Have sent back a few volumes that were beaten up by the time I got them. Rightstuf on the other hand takes wonderful care of them.
I remember really liking NOW, I'm sad it was never picked up by another publisher. There is a series before NOW called Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun. Unfortunately it was being published in English at the same time as NOW by Infinity Studios, so when NOW stopped being translated, so did Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun. There were 5 books published of it. I haven't read the prequel yet, and considering that it also just stops because the Infinity Studios had a falling out it might not add to much to the story of NOW, but incase you're interested, just know it exists. I got my copies for super cheap, probably because it's an unfinished translation.
Happy late birthed day mans, and congrats on all the additions to your VAST collection. Started collecting and getting some hauls myself, and just got the 1st 2 volumes of one of current favs as well, Undead Unluck
Man, I'm still missing vol 11 of Nura. I have not been able to find it anywhere online. I'm from Bangladesh and online is the way I can get my mangas. You're lucky to get the complete set Riley
I am also really happy about the Fist Of The North Star volumes. I was blown away when I read it, it's really weird, I am a manga fan for such a long time but really neglected the Classics.
The author of Gengaku Picasso, Usamaru Furuya, has some really interesting manga. A lot of them are extremely dark and disturbing but interesting nonetheless. He's also done one of my favourite manga ever: No Longer Human (adapted from a novel with the same name.)
Bought all 13 volumes of Platinum End and pre-ordered vol 14. Anime is out now and manga is going to sell out quick. I feel like Tsugumi Ohba has a thing for making manga endings anticlimactic.
I’m planning something different to show how I reorganized, I just need to figure exactly how to contextualize it without it just being “here’s another room tour… a month after the last one”
Trying to find single volumes can be a pain, I've pretty much given up hope for finding volume 7 of A Certain Scientific Railgun for any reasonable price.
Platinum end gets so much hate and I’m not sure why… feel like those who hate it are either really big death note fanboys or just absolutely hate the series. Gonna continue to collect and see what’s up with it.
If I was u I would get them Deadman wonderland vol asap, took me a min to almost complete tht series. All I'm missing is vol 3 and it's hard, BAM plaid me
What do you think the chances of them releasing more collectors edition of pokemon is/are? Also D.Gray-Man is currently in a flash back so maybe wait for 1 more vol before you catch up
Bobo-bo isn't even full volumes they're like half of the volumes so it's like half 15 half 16 for example. It's totally bizarre. Fitting for that manga though lol
Question should I wait for the box sets for one piece to restock or just get single volumes? I’m looking everywhere for the first box set but they’re either sold out or people are selling them for ridiculous prices.
I was just curious if you happened to buy all your manga new or do you occasionally buy them used? I have been wanting to buy more manga also, but only buy boxed sets as they are a bit cheaper.
Me, buying around 3 - 5 manga in a month: damn, my collection is growing fast!

Same lol
Bruh 3 manga a moth i get one then wait a few months then buy another😟

Damn, now that's not a haul, that's a SUPER haul
At the start of the video and I need to say i love that Dio shirt, where can i get one of those for myself?
First thing I noticed too! It looks awesome

Psyren is one of my all time favorite manga. Everyone I talk to about it has never heard of it before. Glad to know more people know about the series
Psyren is so underrated!!!! This series doesn't get talked about nearly enough! Glad to hear you finally get to read it!
Love how much detail you add when talking through the haul 🙌
NORAAAAA !!!! I bought so many years ago , am so surprised someone actually has it , its pretty cool!!!
I see Psyren in the thumbnail and I have no choice but to watch lol. This is actually the second time EVER that I've heard anyone talk about the series.
I started reading it because I went into a new bookstore and the first volume was the only manga they had so it just made me SUPER curious so I had to buy it
the anthropomorphic animal series from Horikoshi is called oumagadoki zoo. I'd recommend reading it.
Ryley needs to post links to his shirt vendor(s). Instant sponsor right there.

youtube is probably his full time job
@@BB-us8sz I doubt it
It also slightly depends on where he's getting his hauls from. Actual comic shops or bookstores usually charge inflated prices.
@@aidinexmachina4232 He mostly gets his stuff from rightstufanime I believe
I found astra lost in space volume 1 and 2 for retail brand new today at one of my local comic shops!

Finally! I live for your eloquent videos
Well my TBR just grew. thanks for the video, and you did a great job.
