This film, presented by The Ringsby System, is produced in 1964 by Trucking Activities, and written and directed by Marlowe. It tells the story of motor transportation and its role in the economics of everyday life while showing Ringsby System’s terminals, trucks, and agricultural machines. Official summary: "tells the story of motor transportation and its role in the economics of everyday." The Ringsby Truck Lines featured here was established by J.W. Ringsby in 1932. Over the next 30 years, Ringsby grew by acquiring other trucking companies. In 1969, Ringsby began experiencing financial problems which were compounded in the mid-1970s by a 3 year union strike. Ringsby recovered by 1981 but could not return to its former profitability and shut down for good in 1984. One bit of trivia: company founder J.W. Ringsby at one point owned the Denver Nuggets basketball team.

As a professional truck driver in 2023 with 20 years with a CDL I wish like hell we could go back to the old days no E LOGs no cell phone apps no email no fast food restaurants and respect and uniforms and no having our time wasted and not getting cut off on the highways

Quite an insight on this vital component of the US economy. Without them, "the final mile" would not exist in efficient commerce. "Soccer Moms may run on gasoline & EV's, but the economy runs on diesel."

We didn’t have near the respiratory infections that they have today. 90 percent of the older folks in my family lived beyond the age of 80, some into their middle to late 90’s?????????😮
