    I bet a test would prove that these videos are highly effective in lowering blood pressure. I doubt anyone would object to a quick "Hi Honey, I'm home" video as you perhaps switch from your fireplace to your books or pictures of your sailboats along with a Devlin sighting? It would somehow be comforting to see a bit of you at home with the announcement perhaps of your anticipated return to Northern Dancer. OK, I will recede back into a dormant existence and patiently await your return. Thank You for taking us along on a wonderfully filmed, edited, uninterrupted and beautifully presented sailing journey. It is much appreciated! Be safe out there Alfie and Hi Devlin! :)

    Soooo…. I skipped forward 7 years and LOVE the new boat… kept an eye out for the whole series to see if I could spot my Dads place in Sibell Bay, but it always just issued as you were passing the Dunsmuir Islands on your trips to Montague and Thetis. Great that you had a nice first series of trips on her, and look forward to your adventures this summer. Hope to see you at some point in or around Ladysmith! Now back to the older episodes for inspiration…

    very nice work on the film Alfy.... You guys sure are keen to travel for a chocolate chip cookie! Man, they must be good! I love 'em too. Partial to a Nanaimo bar when I can get then as well 👍.... .
    At least self isolation will allow you some time to edit any footage you may have to entertain us with. Hope the trip back north was uneventful. 🇨🇦⛵👍

    Thoroughly enjoyed these recent vlogs ( as I do all your vlogs ). The scenery & people are great to see & hear; but the quality of production / editing of film & music has consistently been as good as or sometimes better than and Hollywood production. Be safe until we see you in the vlogs again. ⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵ X 5

    I came across a video on high-grade professional teak finishing. He used air tools and high-quality brushes, 3 coats of two-part clear epoxy, I would choose Fiber-Tek in Burnaby. Then with a cured surface, 3000 wet with Petitt z-spar. 3000 grit oscillating tools, very cool.

    Love the photos you take when out walking. In NZ we don't have any wild animals to worry about when out in our wilderness. Do you and Devlin take precautions to do with bears etc,?

    • @lifeislikesailing
      @lifeislikesailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and so glad you enjoy it. We carry bear spray and noise makers when we are in bear country, plus always looking for signs of wild animal activity as we explore. :)

    Once again Alfie, a terrific video. BTW, what happened to the outboard motor on your dinghy? I know you had trouble starting the motor when you returned to Northern Dancer from Yellowknife, did you have to have the unit serviced? When the wind pipes up, rowing an inflatable upwind can be quite challenging.

    • @lifeislikesailing
      @lifeislikesailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you enjoyed this episode. :). We had the outboard serviced, it is pretty old. Ya, no fun rowing an inflatable in the wind.

    Looks like you used a bow thruster when you backed into that sidetie. Question: when you anchor do you use a double snubber on either side of the bow spread? Thanks for the chill vlogs!

    • @lifeislikesailing
      @lifeislikesailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes, the bow thruster is helpful when backing up a full keel boat like ours. Haven't anchored yet, but will have a snubber when we do. :) So glad you enjoyed the series and stay tuned for more when we get back. :)

      I am sure we will be over to the Sunshine Coast area as Devlin hasn't been sailing in that area before and I am excited to show her. Well we passed through and stopped at Plumper Cove a couple years back, but it was a quick stop so we will be back for sure. :) Yes, I hope things get back to more normal soon!
