fellow winter here 🙂 don't be nervous abt pale pinks--in addition to jewel tones, we also look good in clear pastels. i have Carol Jackson's book Color Me Beautiful from the 70s [i'm old]; the wardrobe advice is amusingly outdated, but the color advice is priceless: winters' hair turns gray early [mine sure did!], but it's a nice silver gray, so she says 'don't color your hair, winters! be happy with your hair and spend your money on diamonds!' 🙂 anyway, thx for your well-organized & helpful channel!

Another reason to wait for the Weekender... I think Andrea is working on an update for the pattern to include a scoop neck as opposed to the boat neck. Having knit the sweater already, I can admit, I would probably wear the sweater more if it had a scoop neck.

Oh wow that's great to hear! I like the boat neck but would definitely be interested in a scoop neck version too.

That would be so cool I want to knit the Weekender but I don’t like boat neck

This was super fun to watch, and I saved a few of the patterns in my ravelry queue. Thanks for the inspiration! Looking forward to seeing some of your completed objects.

That electric blue is the perfect colour for you. Such a stunning colour!

Thank you for this video. Last week I saw a hack to stabilize the icord straps. With a sewing needle put a piece of thread through the strap and give it the length you want. That could work.

I would agree that winter is your season because that electric blue looks gorgeous on you! I’m also a winter and I gravitate to the colors in my palette and I think it may be a subconscious thing where we know they look good on us so therefore we think it’s a good color in general.

I love the Fundi color of Q & C Sparrow!! It's such a lovely dark blue-green - a little bit more interesting than plain black, IMO, but I can also understand how that makes it harder to coordinate with other colors. The fabric is definitely a little rough as you're knitting it, but it will soften up a lot with washing & wear.
I'm almost done with a Rota Sleeveless Top in Lion Brand's Touch of Linen, and then I can't decide what to cast on next! Maybe the Kuutar Top or another Sari Nordlund pattern? I hadn't seen the Audrey Top yet and that also looks very cute, hmmmm.

I know, its realy not often mentioned, but especially for purling: the purl stitch in portuguese style is very easy. If you have a project thats is just ourling a lot, it may be easier to learn this. (i am just knitting in portuguese style, because my mum tought me this, when i was a child) i love it, purling and knitting is easy. Maybe give it a try

I agree with laurahorgan! You are very through with your descriptions without “hums” or “hams” and I like it very much. Your format is getting very professional and shows your dedication to your channel. Loving it!❤

I’m currently working on Lion Brand’s Feels Like Butta Cropped Tee, however the store did not have the right yarn so I substitute it with Caron Blossom Cake which is light and soft enough for summer garments.

I'm currently knitting the kuutar tee and I'm loving it. My Favorite Things's newest cami/tank top. It looks like a staple and I'm here for it.

I am almost finished with a Soho Top for my younger niece. It is knit with Baah La Jolla fingering held together. Being a superwash merino, it is a bit heavy, and certain to stretch. Super cute and a fast knit. Your vlog is enjoyable, and easy to listen to. Thanks!

Thank you for the inspiration! 🥰 here in Finland we consider june, july and august to be the summer months and somehow I was already a bir tired with summer knits. This gave me some new energy and I realised I'm propably just fed up with all the fingering weight knitting 😅 maybe I'll cast on something new with larger gauge, I loved the Soho top and the Audrey top! Have a nice day ❤

I have two summer knits currently on my needles. Yume and Tolsta. When they are finished one at least one complete (doing ribbing on Yume so soon complete). My next project will be Tulsa tank. And I have cotton cashmere by Rowan that may become another Ranunculus.

I knit a Kuutar Tee out of De Rerum Antigone, which is 100% linen, though I love the finished garment the yarn left me with a pinkie callus 🥲 I think it was okay with just straight stockinette but the lace yoke was a real bitch to knit.

Most color analysis place all Asians as Winters even though we have different tones. If you get it redone in a place like Korea or HK there's a good chance it comes out different.

Forgot to say I am also working on the Weekender Light. The yarn is Queensland Donnegal tweed fingering weight. I am surprised how fast it is knitting up being fingering. For some reason it just goes fast. A great TV watching knit (as is the Soho Top). You will enjoy it!

I just had my colour analysis done professionally and I’m a bright winter! Im so glad you’re using those colours, it’s so personally inspiring (cool tones have also always been my favourites) but also refreshing because most knit podcasts I feel focus on warmer beige/neutrals which are beautiful but I’ve been craving something different! Also I did my analysis with Colour Analysis Studio (they have a great yt channel) and I did their virtual option if you wanted to check them out!!

I love that you did a color analysis session professionally! I have seen Colour Analysis studio here on YT and love their videos. I might look up their virtual sessions or see if there's a similar studio near me I can go to in person!

I am knitting the Lanikai Summer Tee in knitting for Olive in Putty. The lace part is grueling but I am past the first two rows and thin it looks really nice. I would love to knit the Cumulus if I can figure it out. The raglan division is confusing to me.
    Love your podcast.

Your videos are very interesting 😊✨
Strangely I see your complexion as a warmer undertone, I'm surprised it gave you a winter palette.
Winter Pallettes look good in all black outfits, and you seem like you would look great in peachy and pinks 🤔
To me you look like a Spring Palette
Anywhoo I really like your videos 🤗

I LOVE watching this kind of content. You made a good point: Winterknits take longer, so its smart to start early. I struggle to block heavy wool things in winter cause of temperature and humidity. This is why I think about knitting for the upcoming fall/ winter.

Hi Amy! I’m in the Boston area too. Which local stores do you like for yarn shopping? I’m always down to try a new spot, and it is really nice to see and feel yarn before buying.

Hi there! I'm north of Boston, so I usually go to Another Yarn in Burlington. They have a very large selection! Circle of Stitches in Salem is also nice, as well as Gather Here in Cambridge!

Great vid! Every time I see your Poppy Tee it makes me want to knit one up immediately haha. I'm using Quince's Sparrow for a little vest at the moment (Mochi Knits Top Sol) and it's nice! It's my first time using 100% linen too, and I can definitely tell that it is rougher than wool or cotton. However, I like the fabric it's producing. I will say, I was a bit surprised by the color I received. I ordered Truffle, expecting a taupey neutral with shades of purple and it basically is purple with gray undertones. (www.ravelry.com/projects/jordankrise/top-sol) I love purple so I didn't return it, but it was not the original look I was imagining. I'm sure if you choose the black it won't be a problem though :)
