As kids we had simpler minds. This programme in particular is laden with phallic symbols and other sexualised subliminals. For instance most puppets have a sword or gun or something suggesting an erect willy. There is also always a small and large puppet. I now question if it was something paedo related. As we now know its a national passtime.
The Picts were the most fearless of our fighters. They only lost early battles due to type of weapons used and the use of shield wall tactics. Once the fighters were suitably armed and schooled, those pesky Vikings had little success and reaped the wild wind
Anyone over about 50 was blessed with awesome kids tv everyday.
The bloody Michael Bentine even had me Googling 'did the vikings attack every Saturday'
Great memories and simpler times

Loved this show as a kid. Used to have me transfixed.
Watching it now, I can't imagine I understood a word. But I liked his calm demeanour and it was all a bit surreal. Like nothing else on tv.
Happy days ' the 70s were the best times ever as a kid how we who lived through them love and miss them Michael beating was a legend 🙌 ❤ 💙
I used to love this as a kid.
Please tell me that you did NOT understand it?
Brilliant
All the old kids' shows had great theme music too.
At the end of one episode, he had a model diorama with a racing track for F1 racing snails.
I would love to see that one again!
Lovely
The druid sounds like Count Arthur Strong.
