Michael, now that you've opened your door marked summer and passed through I hope you have found peace, and you've been reunited with your children.

What an absolute gentleman. Big fan when I was younger of Potty Time and I still am of the man himself.

I was just introduced to him by watching a 1970’s Johnny Carson show who had on Bob Hope as a guest who had a show called Bluffers in which Michael was cast as a news man trying to get access to an art gallery - absolutely brilliant comedy genius! Love him and can’t wait to find more.

I read his autobiography and his recollections of his Red Cross training are absolutely hilarious.

I remember him from my childhood in the 70’s and onwards. I always liked him, his was funny, but there was a weight to him behind those sometimes sad eyes - later on I was always glad to see him interviewed, he was an interesting man who had a full life.

@@RichardUsher Hello Richard thank for your question, How I got to work with Michael was that I was working as stage elecs at The Kings Theatre Southsea, It was only a one week show and from what i remember it was a variety show Michael was very friendly and very easy to get on with he was also very quiet person and to give you an idea of how kind he was he used to keep a bottle of water in the wings and he said to me a stage hand should you get thirsty just to help myself to his water. A man of very quick wit and also very clever.

what a marvellous chap, used to love the Goons. I never realized that Michael witnessed firsthand the horrors of Belsen concentration camp. That must have haunted him over the years.

There is (or , was.) A clip of him relating the moments the liberators entered Belsen. You can feel the horror coming off him.
