My conspiracy hat says it has to do with ilvl or playtime or something, because every time I'm on my undergeared alt, and I mean EVERY time, I consistently see play that I'd only see like once a month or so on my main
It really does feel like that. I run normal roulettes = generally fine. I go into mentor (and this goes for 90 content too) = single pull/no mit/no sprint tanks, no dps healers, dps doing I dunno wtf. One time there was a dps guy farming Ratholos ex through the duty finder (EU) .
I would assume that mentor roulettes prioritize queues for those who have never completed that content before. This would explain why some of those runs can feel sketchy at times (they never played it before) and why my second chances for wondrous tails fill up so dang fast.
@@siritachi31 Either the healer was KOed and couldn't cleanse Doom or everyone got Doom and Healer didn't cleanse it in time.... I've had people quit out of Dead Ends because of 1st Boss's Necrosis debuff (basically Doom) and the final boss who inflicts Doom.

It happened to me a couple of times, but instead of having no one inside, we were all new inside the instance and missing one person (usually healer). When I was finally done doing mentor roulettes I tried leveling roulette and omg what a difference

Every dungeon is a part of mentor roullette. You’re actually locked out of it in a new patch if you aren’t up with MSQ and it’s latest dungeon/trial drop
@@untrustingstatue correction every duty in the duty finder is part of the mentor roulette, except the ultimates and savage raids. literally have to complete nearly every duty in the game to be able to qualify for the mentor roulette.

@@cj1111 seeing how so many people "play" their jobs, especially tanks... i don't think they are all boosted. i think they all miss basic understanding. i barely see a tank in a dungeon use their reprisal/arm's length on trash groups and if they use a rampart - of course when there are only 2 mobs left and one of them is half dead - you can count yourself lucky. the other way round: healers who just stupidly stand around instead of doing dps when they don't have to heal. or they simply constantly overheal without any reason. what is that?? it's not only in mental roulette. you can see those things in any dungeon, trial, alliance or normal raid. it's depressing.
@@Hitsugix I think the game does a bad job of explaining your job roles, so if someone whos unfamiliar with mmos picks up a healer, its not clear to them that every minute they are not healing, theyre supposed to do dps. so they are constantly overhealing to feel engaged with the content.
@@kixmix2450 i agree, but only to a certain extent. logic and common sense dictate that people get to ask themselves what they are supposed to do in their roles. especially when others tell them they are doing something wrong. instead of just ignoring the advice or even giving dumb answers they should learn how to play their job at least decently. nobody expects perfection here. and many people also never read what their new abilities actually do. just came out of a dungeon and guess what? the tank didn't use any mitigation whatsoever. the dps both stood in everything, ran out with their stack markers etc. it was the ghimlyt dark, a lvl 70 dungeon. how can you not know the most basic things at this level? at this point i think it really is a lack of brains. maybe single player games would be better for them.
@@AstridTheBee that's the second boss. They wiped on the first one, or there would be a teleporting area near the start of the dungeon otherwise. I would have understood wiping on the second, but tanks can probably solo the first boss half AFK, there's nothing dangerous for them on that one.
That happened to me before I unlocked mentor roulette - I got into Aitiascope and the dungeon hadnt even started. The one player that was there had disconnected (or quit gsme on purpose?), and i sat around waiting until eventually three mentors from mentor roulette all joined and we could finally do it.
I'll gladly take the L and the 30 minute penalty if I ever get a "Time elapsed: X minutes" pop up for my mentor roulette. I can help, but I can't do miracles
depends if you're queuing as a healer or tank. They may just have had to wait for a while to replace one of those two if they disconnected. If the time ellapsing is big and you're queuing as a DPS, this is starting to be scary.

i had a mentor roullete in dhon mheg where i joined as a bard, everyone else was there so i was like cool we move. started doing my aoe thing and i was like why do i have agro? tank wasn't aoeing... then i noticed i wasn't being healed to see the healer spamming holy, i die, the other dps dies the healer dies then the tank dies. the tank leaves then the healer then the other dps leaves. i didnt leave i just refilled the group and finished my duty, but ye that was quite the experience

It's the first boss, note that there is no shortcut teleport which would be there if the first boss died.
I queued into an empty Sastasha as AST once. I just cleared the dungeon and moved on

A better fit is getting tossed into an Extreme with 10m remaining and getting no reply when you ask what they need help with/try to explain.
That sums up complete party finder when they are looking for helpers in savage.

Expert level dungeons are part of mentor roulette? Seems like a free run...if you manage ot get people that is.

How do you wipe on the first boss in there is beyond me. There isn't even a single one shot mechanic on this one...
