I agree OP. This is no ordinary 25 year old. This young man is incredibly intelligent. It isn’t what he says, it’s the level of comfort he has speaking about ALL matters of this vehicle. He not only understands engineering, but he is naturally innovative. Most young men in this generation are vastly less capable than this fella 🤘
This truck is bitchin, the fact he kept the original frame and beefed it up shows you dont need a gazillion dollars to have a great handling vehicle. My favorite thing are the steelies with the Nitto’s with the white lettering outside. You killed it dude!
It’s a great process for anyone, taught me so much, highly suggest it as it will teach you not only about cars but also yourself and how to manage your life best
Autotopia keeps it G with real vehicles. The good, bad and the ugly of a custom vehicle. Most channels would have clipped and edited the end but, they kept it all in. Sweet build and glad they kept it all in.
I love the fact that you recorded it have an issue and him figuring out what was wrong and keeping it real. That is a major part people don’t get to see when owning/building an animal like this.
Thanks you! It’s a work in progress.. Still proving myself and thankfully Platforms like Autotopia allow me to prove myself. It’s all coming together 😊 Love the comment!
Wow, This truck is all business......the young man that owns it sure knows a lot of technical stuff....it is such a fine example of what can be done....I dig this truck more that words can say......great shoot.....
I had a 1965 GMC truck that I also got in high school but back in 2000. This truck reminds me so much of mine. Miss it and wish I didn't have to sell it during the recession to move from California to Atlanta. This guy sounds like he's 40 years old, not 25! Very well spoken.
That’s a beautiful machine. I love the contrast of a meticulous engine and the old beat up truck body. This guys attention to detail is on another level. Good job man. 🙌🏻
I think everyone appreciates any car on this channel.. but I believe most love the ratty, garage built, rust monsters like this truck. It gives a little motivation and inspiration to those without a $100k budget and ability to do it yourself
I was ripping it up 40 years ago in my short bed 63. 480 hp 454 turbo 400. Smoking it every where. I was definitely a punk. Burn the tires all the way up freeway on ramps passing everything in sight.
Fun truck! I love how he upgraded it but in a more simplistic, cheaper way. The patina is awesome!!! Sean you were brave to stand in front of that truck in the middle of the highway for the last shot!!!
bro this truck is incredible. i absolutely love when people take things like this and just go nuts. if i were ever to built my own car, it would be something just like this, but different make/model of something ratty
This is the type of vehicle I just love this channel for. Just cool cool cool cars/trucks. Yeah it’s got loads of power. But that’s just part of the package. Rather that being the main thing. I get so many love those half million$ massive engine, perfect bespoke interior etc etc.. as great as they are, they do nothing for me personally. But these were it’s just an old car/truck made this cool. Just love that man. Best channel on TH-cam👌🏻👌🏻
Love that build, I have a 65 LWB C10 with a LS swap (with Nittos). At my age I am getting too old to do anymore upgrades though I love driving it. It gets a little shakey at 140 mph, wish I had roll bars, I had a few scary moments in it.
@@claykirksey4024 You know, in Denmark EU, we can't even build a legal motorized bicycle. So seeing all the stuff you build over there, ... I'm not envious... not at all (sarcasm may occure). Nice truck bro!
This was the only thing I knew from the beginning had to be perfect.. THE SOUND! When the boom tubes are off it sounds like a old IMSA Trans Am series racecar
Got my 62 c10 at 17 small block crate and a manual don't think I ever shifted without barking the tires ,still have it to this day I'm 44 now love these trucks the sounds Givin me flashbacks lol awesome truck dude !

I m just crying, only if I could do the same in my country with my b6 audi, I would put a crate engine on it and just listen to it purr, my kids would definitely love it, again sad, happy for this guy though!
Firstly ... that engine is Angry-sounding!❤ But mostly .. the Devil is in the Details ... dam he's clued this truck out ..and he's only 25 ... Wildly rebellious build . I LOVE IT ! Thanks so much for sharing this one .
@ Shaun has had a couple of young guys recently on his chanel your up there mate! Wish we could allow your C10 on our Aussie 🇦🇺 roads but our cops have no sense of humour & love impounding everything that doesn’t resemble a Tesla haha 😜 I’m closer to Shaun’s age but around your age was certainly building & driving in a time when you could street drag without a ticket or impound!! Look forward to you next build 🤙🇦🇺😎
Sweet build very in tune type of guy lots of thought and engineering went into that. Impressive for a younger generation. Nice work, man! Really appreciate all you and your guys are doing! Channel is fuckin sic!
I have 3.42 in my Trans Am and 3.55 in my 69 PT car. This range of ratios is perfect for the T-56 Magnum. I have the Dr Gas spin tech boom tubes as well, with an X-pipe. I have dual Odyssey batteries in parallel in my trunk, I have no stereo tho. Had to do a similar thing to get my clutch and brake pedals even too. I'm surprised Shawn doesn't know more about cars like with the engine specs lol.
He is the personality, and the specifics isn’t his main squeeze which is why he has people like his guests and myself come on board! I will say with out him us Builders wouldn’t have a platform to share our stories or our very cool builds. 😎
@@claykirksey4024 I meant it more as a person and car guy like I thought he was (granted first impression). If he is just a YT personality then yeah, of course it doesn't matter as the owners/builders do the tech talking.
Respect to the owner for doing the majority of work himself. It does my heart good to see a 25yo this deep into it.
Thank you!! This means so much! It was a great experience and I loo not do more as I continue to grow!
Same thoughts I had

Glad he was stoked to learn about the truck’s weak points instead of letting it get to him👊🏿
Same here. Trailered home and on the road in about 15 mins. He built a tough truck
We may be a little biased but Clay is great and his truck is legit! Awesome video, Autotopia LA!

Always keeping it real here and this is part of the process. His approach was perfect too

I love the truck but hate how upright the seats are.
FIA seats and minimal space made for a very vertical positioning but it’s proper racing position..
They’re not comfortable but he built it exactly how he wanted and plans to do some hard driving so makes sense to have proper race seats
