Thank you for keeping these stories and the memory of these places alive.
After an episode series called “Castle Ghosts of Scotland”, back, like, 25 years ago, or so, my mom and I have joked that Fyvie is “our” castle, as two clans Gordon lived there at non-consecutive times, Gordon being the family name of my mother’s father, who lived in Scotland. I always am interested in the mysteries inside Scotland, and most especially from Fyvie castle. Thank you for your most interesting accounts!
Even the music is just right ..this is so perfect , don’t stop doing these videos Mr Carlyle , if it is you ….thank you so much for all videos that you have produced , for your time , the content is beautifully executed, the soothing voice , the wonderful Scottish history , love Scotland , and am half Scottish ( my 22 x g grandfather was Robert The Bruce ) , but only found this out after went to Scotland and fell I love with it ! Would move their tomorrow if I could .
Fyvie Castle looks like a stunning place. I will have to visit.
Its a bonnie castle. Beautiful area.
Please put it on your list…was there this summer. Scotland 🏴 is my most favorite place on earth! I am blessed to have a friend I call a “sister” and we went there. She is Scottish and English. 👍♥️
@@benitasteffan3685 it’s added to my notebook of places to visit
Another brilliant video , love ghosts stories , and love castles too ,thankyou
My pleasure, thank you again for the kind words.
There's a hidden chamber in Fyvie Castle's charter room, but but no one knows what's in it because trying to open its door will invoke a terrible curse. The curse is very specific: death to the lord of the castle or blindness to his wife if anyone disturbs it.
"Echos of history", expresses the sensation I got every time we visited Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico. There were no ghost sightings, but I felt very strongly, in that ancient place, the presence of men & women tending to the garden, children playing, etc.
Yet Another fantastic video With Incredible history , every week your videos go from strength to strength. I count down the days until the next video, that will I have no doubt be even better, if that is possible . Every video that you do are Highly entertaining and nitrated Impeccably . You bring every story to life with haunting history and the theme tune 🎵 is So creepy and relaxing. Can’t wait for the next one keep them coming and thank you 🙏 ❤
That's too kind, thank you 😊 feedback lile yours makes it all worthwhile. The theme music is called Misty Mountain by a german chap called Tilman Sillescu.
I visited Fyvie on the first day it opened to the public . I thought it was worth the time I spent there .Thanks for the history on it
Always a treat to get a new video.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for this wonderfully brought and indeed true story. I have been at Fyvie many years ago. I can asure you it is haunted as experienced some very chilling things. Later the custodians of the castle told the tales.... and confirmed what I had felt and seen. Never will I go there again, though beautiful it is.
Wonderful and evocative! You always take me back to a dark place where history is made and spirits refuse to die.
Thank you 😊 these stories are wonderful. The name carved on the windowsill gives me the creeps!
Thank you for another enchanting story. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season. 🎄✨️
My pleasure 😊 i hope you have a wonderful, relaxing time.
Interesting video. I enjoyed it. I encountered two ghosts in England when I was growing up. The first encounter I had was when I was thirteen years old I encountered a ghost man dressed in 14th century clothing in the tower of london. Back in 1994. All he did was smile at me, and then he vanished. In 1999. I encountered my second ghost of a man in Winchester Cathedral England dressed in World War 1 or 2 clothing. When I saw him. He started to have a conversation with me. I was so shocked at first. When I turned my back for a few seconds he vanished I never saw him after that. I'll never forget those days. I'm from Canada and I also had four more ghostly encounters in Canada. Next video in the future could you do Winchester Cathedral England. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day 😊
Fantastic history, truly creepy stories. That was great.
Thank you 😊
What a beautiful building
What a magnificent building.
Thank you so much for posting! Lord Fyvie and Dame Lilias Drummond are on my family tree. Along with Grizella, of course, Dame Lilias’ young cousin whom Lord Fyvie (Alexander Seton) married as soon as his wife was dead and out of the way. Rumor says he starved her to death in one of Fyvie Castle’s towers, but of course we’ll never really know. But if Dame Lilias Drummond’s “autograph” on the window ledge is any indication, that may very well be true!
My pleasure. The 'autograph' is incredible. I love that story.

As do I, thanks again!
Good morning thank you so much for some really great awesome stories. Thank you.❤❤❤❤❤
Hello to you too! My pleasure, hope you're keeping well.
Delightful, as always!
Thank you 😊
💙💙
Beautifully done ❤
Thank you, too kind 😊
I wonder did the workers and lowly folk gazed at the castle and thought about how wonderful it would be to live there?
I too, have an interest in ghost hunting and heard tales of her being imprisoned and starved by her husband to rid himself of her and allow him to move on to the next one. A visit to this castle is on my wish list. 🤞
These are so cool. Straight up facts without the drama. 👏👏👏👏
Thank you 👍🏻😊
I feel for that green Lady. But the words in the windowsill were awesome.
I love your vids but they make me feel so home sick!....That doesn't mean I want you to stop! Absence makes the heart grow stronger x
Thank you 😊
❤❤❤
Such a shame that these places are left to crumble and ruin
It would be lovely to see them restored. But a dream to far
I've always wanted to visit here after watching the Castle Ghosts of Scotland years ago. Great video as always 🙂 I was wondering are you going to do a video about the South Street Vaults please?
Thank you and yes, i'll definitely cover the vaults. Creeeeepppyyy locations.
Wonderful video! Subbed!
You're a star, thank you 😊
Thomas could have used CBT or DBT to manage his expectations and diminish his rage, which would have resulted in a better outcome for all.
Job well done. 👌🏻
Thanks m'dear 😊
Great job!
Thank you 😊
My solitary complaint is I would love to see these more often....and do you plan to do other places beyond Scotland? Your research and presentation would be most welcome, even on places and stories others have done!
@@pinkcarnation231 I would honestly love to do them more often, just work and costs get in the way. Whenever i get time off i try and do them weekly. I'm getting quicker at producing them, so maybe in a wee bit i can get them out more frequently. I have thought about beyond Scotland, there are so many fascinating stories out there. I was recently on a podcast thats normally a true crime podcast and i spoke a wee bit about the Greenbriar Ghost, a story from West Virginia. Stories like that fascinate me.
I live in West Virginia......and have spent the night investigating the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. It was far from my first experience with truly active ghosts....but, wow, that place is incredible. Many, many ghosts and they are NOT shy. There are 13 buildings; the main building alone is staggeringly huge. The basement is the darkest. That was a night I will never forget. Thank you VERY much for all of your work!!
Lady M wanted to be buried in the castle walls. Put her back and respect her wishes
Happy days!
A new Eerie Edinburgh video!
Man, I'm telling you....spending nearly two weeks with no power and gas, nearly drove me mad! 😵💫🤯
Boost....will be a swear word from now on! 😉😆😂
Enjoying the video (as always) with a coffee and starting to feel alive again!
I hope that all is well at your end and that you're doing good and have plenty of material for future videos!
Oh, went to see the fireworks during the Guy Fawkes Night in a cemetery here in Glasgow, Cathcart Cemetery, made some new friends there! 😉🇸🇪🏴
Two weeks! I'd have lost the plot. Well done for getting through that. Cathcart - any good ghost stories? 😊 i have one from Bearsden i'm trying to get a bit more detailon.
@eerieedinburgh
I nearly did as well, working for Tennents I'm surprised that I didn't start to drink the stock that we have in the warehouse! 😆😂🥴🤪
Bearsden, that sounds interesting I have to say....🤨🤔
Think that I'll have to invest some appropriate books this month, suitable to the somewhat darker time of the year! 😉
Amazon, here we come!
@@Duececoupe Honestly, its a creepy, creepy story. Hopefully get it finalised soon.
@eerieedinburgh
Awesome!
I'm already looking forward to it Squire! 🍻
@@Duececoupe Mind and save some Tennents for me though 😉 let us know how you go with the books also.
bones of the dead should never be moved show respect and leave them wwhere they are
I always think of Ryan O'Neil who has done much work in the paranormal here
I thought you meant the actor at first! 😂🤦🏻♀️

So did I! Lol
@@kellyshomemadekitchen oh no, I think we’ve finished the poor man off. Seems the two of us talking about somebody has consequences 😮

I had heard that there's a room in Fyvie that holds the Devil. The room is sealed and radiates a severe cold.
The curse of the weeping stones.theres only one stone
What language is this?
Too many cheap AI images, inaccurate costuming. You wanted to make it pretty, instead of presenting reality.
The point isnt AI. Just listen to the story. Jesus!
Thank you E.E. I can't add much more to the beautiful comments that have already been made by other's. I'm always grateful to watch another brilliant story from haunted Edinburgh. Blessed be E.E.
Ps. You outdid yourself with this one. Beautiful story, with amazing graphics, narrated beautifully ❤ Heartbreaking history.
Aww, Tamsin. Thank you so much. You are incredibly kind. You've made my day 🫂
@@eerieedinburgh so pleased, as your story made mine 😊
I live not far from Fyvie castle, did a ghost tour there last year at Halloween. We did get some activity that night, it’s an amazing place.
It is. I visited a few years back. Did you see the writing on the window ledge?
@@eerieedinburgh yes, this was close to where the activity happened.
@@Iain1983 May i ask what happened?
@@Iain1983I would love to hear about the activity you experienced as well!
@@eerieedinburgh A large bang on the floor where our group was standing. I’m usually very sceptical about anything paranormal however, it was clear nobody had moved or made the noise. It was quite unsettling.
Just come across your channel and brilliant, the one you do on greyfriers kirkyard i had my own spooky and terror experience which made me leave in a hurry, and i never get this in all the churchyards i have visited over the year's , and it took me a few years to return.
So, so interesting. Hanging on to every word. Thank you 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Thank you 😊
What does the term Lang in the curse refer to? I a Laing and wondering
I think it means the curse will live long in the stones.
Brilliant video, great storytelling too
Thank you 😊
Throughly enjoyed this lovely video and story
Thank you 😊
I've just discovered this channel & I'm hooked. Very well researched & atmospheric. Just subscribed.
Living close to Fyvie. I have experienced paranormal activity there. When I was young, I felt a presence walking behind me. When I stayed at Fyvie guide house, I saw a gray lady in my dreams, I still remember it to this day,, Naturally being young it spooked me a bit. When I was watching an episode of "Most Haunted" when it was coming from Fyvie, I saw a young red-haired man in 13ish C. clothes in my back garden. I am just 8 miles up the road.
One story that wasn't told was the curse of the sealed room.
The story is told that ANYONE who tries to open it will have disaster happen to them.
One Earl of Fyvie opened the room, but, was soon killed it battle; Another earl opened it,but, soon stopped after a collapse of a wall. He, quickly, resealed the room, and, thought he had beaten the curse. He was on a ladder, fell, and, broke his leg.
Another earl opened the room, but, contracted a diease, and, soon, died.
His wife, a maid servant he had had an affair with, and, eventually married, was made blind due the actions of her husband.
If I've left out anything, or, haven't, correctly, told the story, please feel free to correct me.😮😮😮😊😊😊
I get so giddy seeing an upload from you. Have you ever seen the program that came out in the 90s called 'Castle Ghosts of Scotland'? They also did England, Wales, and Ireland. The Lilias Drummond story is one of the tales that always intrigued and scared me the most. Would love to make a trip to Fyvie sometime but if I saw her in the mirror I don't know how I'd react.
I have, wonderful programmes 👍🏻 and thank you, thats lovely of you to say. Cheered me right up.
Also, apologies for the late reply.
First. Never hit the button so fast 😊
Haha! Good work 👏🏻👏🏻
That scene at 4:53 with the moon behind the castle is creepy, like we are waiting for Wolfman or Dracula.
I love it
This is one place that I've wanted to see on this channel for a while now. I've heard of Fyvie Castle before and the story of Lilias the Green Lady always gives me the creeps.
Yeah, the name on the window ledge is...weird!
@@eerieedinburghMore chilling than weird in my opinion
Love these ghost stories like this ty
