Had mine 3 weeks and love it. Gets about 6.5 l/100 in city
So many choices on buttons v screen v steering wheel truly spoilt. Active safety gear not too vicious like many cars. Captains seats great especially for older teens and adults. Can’t believe no usb c

    Great review. Thorough and insightful.
I just bought a Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid. The first one sold in Tasmania in fact. I drove and compared most of the other brands to the Santa Fe. The Santa Fe drives much more nicely, smooth and so comfortable. And the features and interior are class leading in my view. I highly recommend the Santa Fe Hybrid. Absolutely love it.

How is the fuel economy in city and freeway?

    • @andrewetherington9828
      @andrewetherington9828 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@jeetu1407 given its brand new the engine will be tighter, but I'm getting about 6.5 litres per 100 km. Yesterday I drove 53 km around town and got 5.7 litres per 100 km. About 900 km from 1st tank of petrol. That's really excellent for such a big suv. 😊

Have you had any coolant leaking from expansion tank? My son in law bought one just before Xmas had it 3 days and back to the dealer waiting on new bottle on back order from Korea eta mid February his was cracked near where hose goes in. $70 k vehicle?? They have given him a hire car and so they should.

@@johnclark4131 No, no problems at all with mine. Mines a ripper so far.
Sorry your son had an odd problem. I'm glad he got a hire car.
Delivery time, and apparently parts too, are a concern.

I found the 1.6L engine a bit under cooked, very high revs and noticeable gear changes versus the Kluger which seemed a lot smoother. Otherwise i really liked the sante fe

  • @ravingmad765

176mm ground clearance. Imagine if this had the kluger 206mm. I know it's a city car, but a bit more grind clearance and it would be a nice soft roader.

    Those seats are terrible.
I didn’t go with the Captain chairs because I don’t use the 3rd row than often. I do use the boot space with seats folded down everyday.
Apart from that I will definitely look at a Hybrid for the next Santa Fe (4th I will own). However I think it’s worth considering WHERE you will drive this car. I live semi rural and I am not convinced on the mileage achievable in this situation.
The other question I have is towing capacity, what it’s like with a hybrid?

  • @gertsy2000

Looks very nice. But the car costs $6.5k more than the full petrol version. Thats over 12 years before you break even on the fuel savings difference. I'm pretty sure that stat is in the public interest. So you'd buy this car if you were concerned with a lower carbon footprint for running the same car over it's lifetime.

What a big mistake..that terrible middle console. Button city when good design is moving towards a minimal effect. I have the 2019 previous model highlander and was thinking of upgrading but that console puts me right off. will now look at the Sorento.

I love the centre console design, you get use to it pretty quick and having an individual button to turn things on and off is better than navigating the touch screen, especially whilst driving.
