    A few days ago I went to a Retirement Association Christmas luncheon. I was apprehensive....it's like going to a high school reunion for old ppl 😂. Anyway, symptoms were telling me I should probably stay home, but I pushed myself a bit went anyway. I saw a bunch of ppl I had seen in awhile and had fun catching up and remembering the fun we had at work. My symptoms kinda disappeared for awhile and I felt more normal than I have in awhile....it was great. There's hope, don't give up.

    I love your channel I pop in every day or so I’m on the almost healed not as fearful but free of symptoms mostly. I’ve recovered mostly almost healed but I know it’s all fear based. Don’t indulge I say cancel that thought. Some days it comes out many times other days just once .. cancel that negative indulging in negative fear thought oh I might have… what if this is serious… no no no “ cancel that thought”. Did this as early as few weeks symptoms started less to almost not there one year from when I first got my headache went from daily headaches fear all day to a headache that’s one per month if that. Dissiness daily to no dizziness, hip back pain daily to no pain may get back pain once every month if that. But it doesn’t bother me.

    Good morning and thank you as always. About a week ago I became interested in Buddha and his teachings! I had some colorful symptoms and one of the things taught in Buddha is that thoughts are like clouds they’re not real they come and they go just like my symptoms are controlled by thoughts. The best part is I had severe knee pain and now it’s gone. I don’t know if this helps anybody, but I’ve been watching Buddha videos on TH-cam it’s actually brought a lot of peace to me if this helps someone that’s awesome,thank you and I will see you tomorrow.

    I think befriending the fear cultivates a gentle sense of safety. Treating ourselves gently and calming the fear. ‘Overcoming’ may sometimes feel a bit like strong-arming. I’m not sure that our cognitive function can override these fearful emotions without recognising and in a sense gathering them in gently so that they can settle. Just my thoughts…

      @@sabrinafuentes901I’m thinking more like seeing the fear as perhaps a part, or a child and soothing it. Like Dan says, conveying safety, but as we would with a child. It feels more doable than just stamping it out or pushing it away. I think when we gather it in and say ‘it’s okay’, maybe the nervous system calms more easily. Maybe works better for us sensitive types. Hope that helps.

    How do you get rid of fear of fainting with dysautonomia where I’ve fainted and gotten seriously hurt 50 times .. it’s created an anxiety disorder and my life is very restricted due to this very real fear

    • @kateking3953
      @kateking3953 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, that is a reality for some people. It isn't about pain all the time, it isn't about emotional states. It's about physical symptoms with devastating physical results, and saying they will go away if we speak to our brain isn't always going to be an answer. I haven't fainted, but I've fallen and got broken, and I'm not an age where falling is a good thing to do! Telling my brain not to worry about falling is not going to happen, and I too have a resulting anxiety. If it's happened, it can and does happen. It very much depends what people are struggling with.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Mark: If you search youtube for "Pain Free You POTS" - you will find several success stories. POTS is a form of dysautonomia and many are getting well. Your case with the fainting is an extreme version of dysautonomia. Yes, the danger is very real as is the fear. My suggestion? Begin believing that your Autonomic Nervous System can return to balance as you teach your brain and nervous system safety. Then, in a very SAFE and CONTROLLED environment begin to expand movement. Even if it is just standing up and sitting down in front of a couch with cushions laying on the floor all around. Perhaps use a walker for support in front of you. Perhaps work with another person to control a fall if you do faint. Consider this rehabilitation and working with a professional Physical Therapist to provide a safe environment should be considered.
      Practice the movements in mental rehearsals first as you see yourself in your mind doing this successfully without fainting. Then, do it for real. In VERY small increments. The key is gradual, safe & controlled while conveying to yourself and your overprotective brain that you can and will get better. This can be a way to begin recovery. Scary, yes. But I do believe it is possible. Begin watching the success stories for POTS to see if you can gain some insight as to what worked for others.

    • @markpatrick5246

      @ thanks I actually don’t have pots but neurocardiogenuc syncope … and ptsd panic disorder from the fainting .. each trigger each other … I force myself out everyday … it’s been a bad 2 yr daily 24/7 cycle .. prior was better ie running marathons …. My brain is trrrified of fainting and its consequences so you are totally right 💔 I do appreciate your channel and kind response and will watch the pots videos .. maybe one day you will do a video on my condition with me in it!

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@markpatrick5246 I know you don't have pots, but the recovery can be similar since they are both forms of dysautonomia. Gradually teach your brain and Autonomic Nervous System to return to balance. Give my suggestions some thoughts. Staying terrified is not going to result in changes. Teaching safety may. Gradually.

    In other words, did my forbidden foods on my IC diet trigger my mind to be dangerous and that is the reason for my pain and frequent urination after eating them? If I ate something that irritated my bladder I was always constantly looking up ingredients and checking with IC google news if indeed it was something I should eat and usually it was.

    • @CherryLane-si1yj
      @CherryLane-si1yj 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That was my experience, Janell.
      The mindbody is acting on the suggestion that a food is forbidden. It’ll just corroborate some nutter’s website list of off-limits foods. (I’m sorry. I hope that doesn’t sound dismissive, but so many well-meaning folks devolve into nuttery after a while and treat an unpleasant physical experience almost like a religion.)
      This is why I don’t go into “neighborhoods” that create fear and shrinkage of my life.
      I apologize as I’ve responded to your posts a couple times. I hope you don’t feel like I’m trolling you. I just SO don’t want you to suffer. I have personal experience with this one. I want you to feel well. I want that for everyone here.

    I just can’t shake the fear because my symptoms and the assessments are so inconclusive as to whether is’s TMS or not. Also, they are very physical. I’ve seen one of your recovery stories about sexual dysfunction and hard flaccid, but honestly, it bothered me he healed in a very short timeframe. I’ve been at this for years with no real improvement. My genitals are numb and deformed (like I said, very physical). My fear is that at my core, I do not believe my mind could change the shape of a body part for years on end. I’ve done my best to believe it, but the symptoms are pretty constant, so don’t behave like a TMS symptom. I really do appreciate your videos though. They’ve given me hope at times when I thought of giving up, but I’m not making progress at all.
