Hey brother! Great to hear, love the Tiburon and think it’s a great car all the way around. Check for maintenance records like timing belt, water pump, regular oil changes, etc. As long as they’re taken care of they last forever. Also check for rust, but that’s on any car. Be aware as these cars are often times owned by younger kids are abuse the hell out of them! But all in all just do a basic check like you would on any car.
i learned a woodworking technique that could ensure a near perfect fit in first try. you take a piece of cardboard thats a few inches undersized. block it up to it lays where you want your false bottom to be, then take a stack of paper, and one y one you slide the paper out to the "wall" you want to be snuk against, and tape it down to the cardboard. do this as many spots around the cardboard as needed, then take the whole thing out, and trace unto the material youre cutting to size.

I don't think the back seats come close to being 40lbs. Probably half that weight.
