Inflation is much better than deflation.
Deflation will cause prices lower. But that's an oversimplification of the problem.
The current deflation in China 🇨🇳 can cause:
    - manufacture closures because they import high price, export low price,
    - farmers can't harvest,
    - layoffs and high unemployment,
    - more home foreclosures because house values are less than what they owe the banks,
    - The real value of China's debt will increase making it hard for China to pay debts,
    - GDP declines,
Countries tackle inflation with raising interest rates.
For deflation, it takes decades to get rid of it with no good solution.

You’re missing the forest for the trees. No one ever complained about 2%
inflation, it was 7% - 9% inflation we were upset over and wanted something more like 1% - 3%. And hyperinflation, which we have not experienced but other countries have, is FAR WORSE than mild deflation.

What a Bunch of Bull. Rents are not rolling over, most pay a lease that is set yearly in price and is very high. Food is 27%-40% higher in price since the pandemic. Just because they got a 2.9% CPI doesn't mean prices went down, it just slowed going further up. Insurance costs are skyrocketing, gas is high, eating out is much higher in price, services of all kinds are higher. If oil goes up due to war, all bets are off and inflation will rise quickly and significantly! They talk about wages going up, for whom? Mcdonalds, Home Depot, Starbucks and others earnings showed that their consumers can't afford buying their products anymore. I keep hearing about thousands of layoffs but we never see the numbers in the jobs numbers, now that's 'cooked numbers'.

No one said it was down a million months in a row, but just a few months in a row. Also, inflation going down does not mean prices go down, it only means they are inflating at a slower pace. No one here ever said you should be happy about the inflation we faced, merely that you should be happier than if it had continued to stay high with your grocery bill $350 instead of $200.

Inflation is a positive rate of change. Less inflation, lower rate
