Just what we need. Pitchers helping each other out lol. Bauer's crazy into the little mechanics of throwing. He's gonna be a savant coach whenever he's done throwing bb's. And lorenzen is definitely a beast.
It’s cool seeing the pitcher most obsessed with the physical abilities and the one most obsessed with mechanics collaborate. A mixture of these two would be amazing
Nick Sullivan it’s more complicated than someone simply teaching you or seeing a video. You have to have elite athleticism and strength before you can even begin to get into these positions. Plus countless hours of practice drilling these mechanics into your muscle memory. Then you have to move almost as fast as humanly possible to throw as hard as they’re throwing.
This is beautiful. Bauer with the cockpit of video tools and the complex approach. Lorenzen with the simple approach and the 1991-era microphone quality. More evidence for why the diversity in baseball makes it the best sport.
DodgerFan 16 everything he throws gets a ton of movement. When I watch Bauer I think of a young max Scherzer. One of these days he is going to figure out what is keeping him from being an elite pitcher. His stuff absolutely says elite but the results have just been good.
I remember watching him at CSUF when my SO went to school there and he was a center fielder in the middle of the line up. Dude can rake but obviously if you can throw 98, MLB is going to value that over anything else
Not sure if Trevor will read this, but you could explain that hip external rotation into hip extension, as at that point in time you want to jump as far as you can try to get to the position where you feel that you can jump from to create the power once you get to front foot strike.
spot on, drop & drive is the name but not the literal motion. But a guy like Tim Lincecum being small in stature could throw hard, Pedro Martinez, Ron Guidry too
My favorite part of the full video with Lorenzen, but I prefer to watch the full length video. Side Note: I was rewatching the July10, 2018 Reds vs Indians game where the Reds scored 7 runs with 2 outs in the 9th to steal a win as this video dropped. I didn't remember you started that game. Great night as a Reds fan. Sorry to bring up bad memories to the Indians fans that follow here.
Also, this is the game that you broke down your take down of Joey Votto in the first inning. He made a great adjustment in the third and crush a line drive to 2nd for an out.
How would this work with triple point extension in your legs. I don’t know how still push off with my knee and still squat down when I push off the mound.
“Triple extension” isn’t from pushing off the rubber. Just throw away that terminology. He literally said to not push off the rubber because pushing kills hip rotation
Trevor or Chat - I just started trying out pitching. Having some pain in my throwing side big toe and from what I see online its either cancer or a wait it out situation haha. Any advise for not putting so much pressure on the big toe? This video is awesome can't wait for the Reds to take the field!!
I had the same problem, mine was a ingrown toenail (that was poking in on my delivery). I recommend you check it out, I took Advil to easy the pain, but it took of a few MPHs
Tell him to get on the mound and put the back foot pointing towards the shortstop and do all the mechanics and throw home and he will feel all the pressure on the back leg hamstring and glute that is what Trevor saying in hard difficult words. Lorenzen you are just collapsing the back foot trying to get that dumbass vector or whatever online with the home plate which it does takes velo off your fastball. I was doing the same thing before 🤦🏽♂️ but when I got it right it was an instant leap like Trevor said got 8 mph on my fastball. You are collapsing and I bet you feel all the pressure on your knee and quad instead of your harmstring and back glute. Do that drill and you will feel how is supposed to feel. Because if you put the back foot pointing to shortstop and you collapse like you do you will throw to 3rd base dugout. Do what I’m saying and throw home you will instantly feel it. Trevor is just making it complicated for no reason. I can’t believe you throw 99 doing the vector shit be linear drift and then rotate. Before y’all bash me I play minor league up to 96. Anyway big fan of both of y’all. Now can y’all just make a video teaching how to throw strikes that’s why I got release lol. Thanks
He could externally rotate the knee if he was externally dominant in his hips. He didn’t make it complicated at all. Lorenzo said he wanted the vector towards home. Bauer told him not to and to act like he’s doing a single leg squat so the knee naturally “stays vertical” And doesn’t cave the knee
Played with Michael at Fullerton high school. Damn he hates pitching lol. I know he wishes he was running down balls in center and getting hacks every game
Bauer doesn’t hold torsion. His hips aren’t made for it and has said that it hurts him. It’s just him dropping into the back leg properly and not actively rotating the knee out

I see pitching coach Trevor Bauer in the future. 😃
Its inevitable
For sure
This video is insanely helpful. Not just for Lorenzen, but for people with these mechanical deficiencies. Thank you Trevor
Wow! Trevor knows his stuff. He was only discussing one aspect here but every single movement in his delivery is elite!
trev with the ipad, macbook, surface and air pods
The central nervous system
Man I wish I had seen a video like this back when I was still playing
Seriously. When I was pitching, no one ever taught me anything like this

Love hearing into the mind of one of the best baseball minds!!!
Iv learned a lot from you Trevor. Thanks for taking the time
Thanks for watching!
I would love to see more videos like this

After watching this, I already have scouts calling me. Thanks Trevor Bauer!
LOL
I wonder if Bauer would ever hit an Astro on purpose

Blank Name he has time to figure it out
Never. Not my style.
I like Lorenzen. Can hit pretty good too. Hope he gets the chance to do more two way action. Hope we can see any baseball this year!

Noooooo
That’s exactly what he doesn’t want you to do.
No jumping. Bauer’s already gone through 3x
To think how much velocity Lorenzen will have with all these mechanical improvements to capitalize on his ridiculous strength. Scary.
spot on, drop & drive is the name but not the literal motion. But a guy like Tim Lincecum being small in stature could throw hard, Pedro Martinez, Ron Guidry too
This is true and makes me want the Bauer analysis on the Lincecum delivery. That one was so dependent upon the synergy of the moving parts (many).
This is great to see man. #UNITY

I watched the 1 hour video for this little treasure. Did any1 else?
Where can I watch the hour video?

Just realized how big Michael is
thatboy dre I know, the dude is jacked
Dudes a Beast
Dude this was sick.
Glad you liked the video!
Anyway to view online the full speed pitch video above of you to use to compare for HS player.
Holly shit I really love this.

"you're gonna sit 100" if someone told me that i would literally die
I also think Michael’s back leg load is too quad dominant
Yea that’s exactly the problem
It was kinda like leiter in high school the knee would cave in
Love this
Trevor got everything about pitcher, besides Michael's body XDDD
Trevor looks like the crazy hacker from a movie
Mitchell Gibson totally
Great video
Thanks!
Hopefully u boys get playing soon!

Galen Brown try extending your stride length
@@lmnull Thanks! I guess I should specify its the bone where the big toe attaches to the foot - so not the actual toe itself if that changes anything?
I had the same problem, mine was a ingrown toenail (that was poking in on my delivery). I recommend you check it out, I took Advil to easy the pain, but it took of a few MPHs
Is there any feel drills I can do to rotate the hips better?
Drew Moreland something that helped me was single leg squats. It’s the same feeling going down in the squat as you drop into your back hip

Throwing strikes depend on many different little things though. I’m sure treads probably made a post on it
Hi from readymaderc crew!
Hey Trev it would make my year if your respond I was going to come see you in June and July for every home game but I can’t now
Hello!
@@BauerOutage damn he didn’t reply to you🤧
Played with Michael at Fullerton high school. Damn he hates pitching lol. I know he wishes he was running down balls in center and getting hacks every game
Michael needs some torsion on that drive leg, Trevor does a good job with it
Nick Harold agreed but I don’t think it would matter because of Lorenzens elite strength
Tim Baird yeah I am not saying it would increase velo or anything just increase efficiency throughout his delivery
Bauer doesn’t hold torsion. His hips aren’t made for it and has said that it hurts him. It’s just him dropping into the back leg properly and not actively rotating the knee out
