  • It’s new rubber day! Join me on a trip to Bulldog in Wokingham to get some new shoes for the Scrambler. Big thanks to the guys at Bulldog Suzuki for fitting me in so quickly for some workshop time and the warm welcome, as always.
The kind people at Metzeler have provided their new Karoo 4’s for review, and it’s the perfect time to switch up as we enjoy a warm autumn into winter riding. You better believe the fun doesn’t drop even if the temperatures drop 🤔 they boast “best in class wet weather performance” a super durable compound against abrasions and a mud collecting & clearing blocks. Snazzy!
Hope you enjoy this more relaxed, vlog style video. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried the Karoo 4’s yet. I’ll be doing a comprehensive review next year once I’ve got a lot more miles under my belt, so hit subscribe and like for more content like this!

Hi Will, great video and enjoying your journey with the Scrambler so far. I’m in the market for one after watching so many great reviews. It seems like a superb all rounder and looks insanely good. Can’t wait to find the right one and get out there on it.

Thanks Rob! Appreciate the comment mate. It’s an absolutely brilliant machine (I really should do a video going in depth on it!). As long as you work a way around the hot exhaust in summer you won’t be disappointed. XE or XC? Or one of the new ones for 2024?

I love my Scrambler 1200 XE, only had it a few weeks. Has Metzeler Tourance on it at the moment which seem ok

They’re great tyres, but not for anything off road

Careful with your phone mounted on the bars. My Scrambler XE broke my iPhone 12 Pro cam lens stabilizer (everything else works, just no more camera) on a Ram Mount. Now I use that phone as a dedicated GPS and got a new everyday phone. Love your videos!

Ah yes, you need to vibration isolator from quadlock. It stops any damage to your phone!

You should like the Karoo 4’s. Ran them on my GSA 1250. Works great in the rain. Works very well off road.

Brilliant stuff. So far in the autumn weather they’ve been cracking.

@@Willieswheels I traded my GSA this last Saturday for the XE Chrome Edition. I’ll try to wear out the Tourance tires a bit before I put the K4’s on also.

Nice one! Yea they’re performing brilliantly, highly recommend. The gloves are helstons, good summer gloves (though I wore them today as it’s so mild! 😉)

Enjoying the content mate. Could you let me know what helmet mic setup you are using? Haven't managed to get the best set up yet. Rode my Triumph down to Turkey from Bristol in August last year (and back). Helmet mic wasn't the best. Yours sounds awesome. Cheers.

Thanks mate! I’m still tweaking as it’s never quite right. But current setup is a Purple Panda mic into the media mod of the GoPro. I find best is hiding the mic under the cheek pad to avoid wind, but it often peeks out the side and it gets all breezy again! Probably a feature of my helmet and you might have better results with yours.

@@Willieswheels Purple panda has come up a few times. I've used a simple lavalier mic but seems way too windy and noisy. Above 60 miles an hour it was basically useless. Need to test out some set ups to get it right. Thanks for the reply mate, appreciated!

Try sticking it inside the helmet behind the cheek pad (seems weird but it helps cut wind noise a lot)

What seat do you have? Have you done a review on it?

No review, but happy to shoot one if it’s of interest! It’s by Crafton Atelier - super happy with it.
