    I. am very disappointed to hear that Sky have cancelled the show. I have really enjoyed binge watching the three seasons and I cannot see why Sky has taken the decision given that it seems to have done pretty well.

Great show. Sad they discontinued it. The story can't stop here. The writers for this show are really amazing. Well done through and through. Its a shame Sky and Amazon didn't see the demand for continuing it. There should be some sort of petition signed to show support for a season 4.

I really hope there will be a Britannia IV as I have heard rumours that the plot of Season One was plagiarized from another writer's work, thus there may be a legal battle over intellectual property going on. Whatever the delay is I hope this briliant series continues as they can't leave the ending of season 3 hanging like that.

Great analysis 😍 Yes I agree it feels like Cait is the young Boudica. There was a scene when the most ancient Druid said people eventually ascend as spirits.... And in this last episode Veran switched the heads of two doves, I feel that symbolises Cait will live as a Roman for now.. this coincides with Aulus saying the battle is not the war (brilliant catch, I missed that!). Cheers from Britannialand!

Hi relatively new (and happy) subscriber here. I originally came for Cursed then stayed for the very rare Britannia content on youtube. I'm absolutely in love with that show and I'm glad I found fellow fans on here. I'm really hoping the show gets renewed for a 4th because it's a hidden gem that deserves more recognition! And the cast as well as the characters are amazing!
On the Boudicca theory, there's an interview where the show's creator James Richardson said he was originally interested in making a movie about her but then he and Jez Butterworth wanted to explore the idea of British myth more. So honestly you're spot on!

Boudicca was a member of the Icini or Iceni tribe. The show includes the Cimbri. That was a tribe conquered by Marius like 300 years earlier...This show is just mashing historical names into the show in hopes that everyone who is watching is a moron. Real references are always better. Write the story with historical; references that are correct. What is so hard about that?

Finally watched the 3rd season. I loved this show. I found the story and characters very consistent through out. Cait was not the Joan of Arc heroine I would have liked but much of what happens to her is a prologue and not the main trial. The main trial is when she returns to Britain and becomes Boudica. There have been several Boudica films. The 2003 version starring Alex Kingston and Emily Blunt was pretty good. Thanks for this video. Your description was great.

I'm 74 and I ate this show up! The acting was excellent, the makeup superb, and the scenery magnificent. The music was however a train wreck. This series was made for the type of music for 43 AD not 60's rock and roll. The other downside is that Sky cancelled season 4. What a boneheaded decision that was. This could have transitioned into Boudica so easily. This reminds me of the idiots that cancelled Firefly after 11 episodes.

I think it’s something to do with the rise of judo-Christianity. Leading up to Constantine 2, whom supposedly was the son of a Britain woman maybe Caite (sp?). Constantines father was a military higher up who usurped the line of Roman rule. Leaving Constantine ruler who makes Christianity state religion. But the time line in history puts it off 250 years.

Hmmm not sure where people are getting Boudicca from. She was queen of the Iceni, widdow of a Roman client king and mother of two daughters. If this is a Boudicca retelling it's one very much different to the actual Boudicca story, or it's her early life and they'll need to take a big time jump until she becomes actual Boudicca, so i guess, if she IS supposed to be that then cancelling until she can catch up to the Boudicca we know makes sense of that ending.
The series has always seemed waaay more style than substance to me but it is fun and everyone seems to relish in it and really commit to the 70s flower child, rock n roll fever dream. I hope it does continue the story at some point, in some way. I've always felt like it's kind of like a comic book adaptation and has a lot of shared DNA with something like American Gods. Shine on you crazy diamond.

I only just binge watched the show and found the series 3 finale unfulfilling and confusing. I always thought from episode 1 of series 1 that Cait was Boudica and in later episodes in S02/03 someone would translate the runes on her head to say exactly that. She was always searching for a name after all. I did then wonder when the Spear of Destiny came into the scene that it was a bit confusing. How would it go from victorious Britons driving out the Romans to the vaults of the Vatican and the basis of many stories in Christianity. Well now we know (raising eyes up and down). in a way I resent giving hours to these TV series (I guess about 25 to this one), often to find the makers either don't follow on with a compelling story or we end up with a wtf ending such as this or GOT. Aulius had Cait literally in the middle of nowhere and had to get her back to London somehow to sail for Rome. Was he going to make it through all of the tribes that were waiting, and all of the Druids with the exception of Divis the Div? Why do we still see the disgusting insane cannibal witch manically laughing whilst lying in a chariot at the end when really someone would have split her in two back in the room where she killed Lucius. "Oh here's a great idea, this woman that is the most dangerous I have ever seen, why don't we help her out and hang on to her and see what other mayhem she can cause"? All in All, loved the series and a great idea to focus on the incredible history of Druidic Briton but the ending left me thinking, sigh! they tricked me again and I have wasted another 25 hours of my life on a TV series. What's next?

I started off loving this show, but my patience reduced episode by episode, until I fast forwarded the episodes in series 2 and then only fast forwarded the last episode of series 3. Thank God I didn't waste my time watching, and trying to understand, every episode. Only the writers understand what the ending of episode 3 was about and to be honest I don't care. I'm glad there is no series 4, as the money could be much better spent.

The misportrayals and god awful costumes of both cultures. The stupid finger paint on the britons faces. Not to mention that both the Canti and Regni never resisted rome, completely accepting the romanisation of the south. The Iceni aswell was in the same boat and didn't resist until AD60. The only true resistance came from Caratacus and his brother who both ruled the Catuvellauni tribe.
