    I cannot believe the peanut story! People are so cruel. That’s so scary to go through, being constantly on edge the whole flight. You gave them plenty of time to organise the flight to be nut free! How comes other airlines can do that but this one couldn’t… so bad! Glad you’re okay though and you’re back safe!💕💕

    I empathise completely-I had the *exact* same experience with Malaysia Airlines flying to and from Bali!! The staff were generally just SO callous it literally reduced me to tears-I couldn't believe how little they could care. The whole experience was horrendous and super anxiety-inducing!! They did seat us up in Business Class when economy were being served however and, when the peanuts were being handed out, I just buried my face in my husbands hoodie! The irony is it's generally fine being in these countries as long as you're careful obvs (have been to Bali, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos) but it's the actual getting there that seems to cause so many problems and anxiety!!

    Oh wow! Can’t believe the peanut story.
    I work in the food industry producing food products for supermarkets.
    We are so careful with this kind of thing, so it’s a shame to have a stupid airline ruin that for no apparent reason.
    I have never understood why they don’t just have a rule to not serve peanuts and nuts for the flight…people will cope… unlike the risk the other way around.

    Hey Holly you may want to get a Deva cut to shape your curls and cut off the split ends. It will make your hair shorter so you may want to wait until your more comfortable but it’ll get all the processed and over straightened ends off and help your curly hair grow healthier. I’m also trying to embrace my curls so I understand. Good luck on your curly journey 😊.

    Your life is YOUR responsibility.
    Some people/organisations can be kinder than others but its not realistic to expect other to adapt to you as if you are special to them.
    You adapted, you were fine. The world doesn't revolve around you and doesn't owe you anything.

    Surely the airline could have made everyone onboard aware that there was somebody on the flight with a severe nut allergy and then leave it up to everyone to decide? If they don’t want to take the no peanuts stance AND they don’t charge people for them then this seems like the next best option - it will provide you with a bit of comfort and tbh most people would forgo peanuts if they knew that eating that tiny tiny bag of peanuts would cause somebody to have a severe reaction! Mental that you had to go through that!

    I'm having the same allergy problem with Qatar airways now. Can't believe these policies are done, to be honest, it's so frustrating for us. I've taken a lot of flights within Europe and many times they warn about the allergy of one customer, so I don't know why these bigger, more expensive companies don't care about allergy to peanuts but can have other 14 menus for low sugar diet, low fat, vegan, vegetarian, halal, etc. I just need a dish without nuts... anyway, I'll avoid all these airlines as much as possible.

    I can't believe how they dealt with your allergy! Makes you wonder what they do for other medical emergencies... if someone is having a heart attack do they just keep flying... like oh well if they die they die?!!.... I feel like there has to be laws around this even in Malaysia, because that is so inhumane. As a paramedic anaphylaxis is one of the scariest most quickly progressing life threatening conditions, really reminds you that you need to look out for yourself and your own wellbeing when travelling to other countries.

Honestly, I can’t believe you wanted an entire flight full of strangers to accommodate you? - You wasted so much time and energy and incited drama all around you - and in the end, you were able to find ways to keep yourself safe. You need to calm down a bit and own your own life.

    Hey i’ve followed you for a while and have loved watching your vids. but i must say, i feel very differently to the whole malaysian peanut issue. Only giving them 3 days in hopes to take out all the peanuts seems to be a bit of a stretch. And if you knew of other airlines that would accommodate your request why not go with them instead or do your research before booking? Instead of expecting them to accommodate you because “some airlines do it”. I think when you’re the one with the particular need, the responsibility should be on you as the individual to ensure you feel good and safe and not hope they alter their sop or affect the other 300 passengers to accommodate the one.

    • @hollyb_fitness
      @hollyb_fitness  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hi lovely! So they didn’t need to remove peanuts from the aircraft, it’s just a case of not distributing them out - something other airlines do because they understand the severity of the situation. However, those other airlines (easyJet, virgin, jet2 etc) don’t fly to Asia, there is very limited airlines that do so the usual options aren’t available, which is why we booked with Malaysia airlines.
      I did take responsibly by calling the airline and asking if it would be a problem. At that point they should’ve flagged to me that regardless of my allergy they would be serving peanuts, meaning I could have made other arrangements to make sure I feel good and safe. I’m not really sure what more I could have done than call and pre-warn the airline and ask if it was going to be a problem?
      Also it’s hardly affecting 300 people in an extremely negative way if they aren’t handed a small bag of peanuts on a flight, whereas it could induce a life threatening reaction to me.

    • @saskiamantiri
      @saskiamantiri ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just looked online and googled peanut allergies on airlines and i was able to easily find info on which airlines do have policies on not serving peanuts, which ones can accommodate your request upon you notifying them and which ones will continue to serve regardless. There are some airlines that do go to asia like singapore airlines, turkish or phillipine airlines that looks to better accommodate your requests with notification ahead of time so research prior is key and not to just assume. This info is easily available and would’ve saved you a lot of discomfort traveling for such a long haul flight.

    • @hollyb_fitness
      @hollyb_fitness  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@saskiamantiri I completely understand what you’re saying but that is exactly why I called? I called to ask if it would be a problem and was never told any differently so why would I assume it was going to be an issue if I’d spoken to customer service and asked them directly. If they had told me at that point it would be a problem I wouldn’t of flown with them and would’ve looked for an alternative route.

    • @saskiamantiri
      @saskiamantiri ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hollyb_fitness you mentioned in your video she left a note during your call which is not a confirmation that they were to provide you with your request, but only to say that yes they know you are coming and that you have an allergy. All airlines are profit making business, of course they want your business and could be that she didn’t understand the gravity of your condition. And when you book or buy anything usually there’s a “i have understood and agreed to all the conditions regarding the purchase based on the terms set by the company”.
      Given they have already stated this on their website and other sites - “Meals and snacks may contain peanuts or nuts. The airline will not create any buffer zones or make onboard announcements.” It seems like they’ve already done more to accommodate you by moving you and your friends and yet you still chose to bash them online even though from my view, it looked like you’re the one in negligence for not doing your research ahead of time considering the severity of your condition. They’ve already stated their stance but you were adamant to set a different standard on them that they’ve already stated differently otherwise.
      What happened to you sucks. No denying it. But it could’ve been avoidable. I just don’t agree with the way you’re communicating the message to boycott a company when they’re not in the wrong. Their policy was clear. You missed it and they still tried to help you in the end.

    • @hollyb_fitness
      @hollyb_fitness  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The intention of this video is not to bash them at all, I always like to keep my space very positive and I wanted to share this experience to prevent someone else with a peanut allergy making the same mistake I did.
      Like I said I completely understand your point. That doesn’t dismiss my experience with some of the staff, others were accommodating which I mentioned and I’m extremely grateful for that.
      A lot of my followers also have allergies, specifically peanut allergies because my recipes are all nut free, so I’m sharing my experience to prevent any of them making the mistake of flying with Malaysia airlines.
      If you don’t have an allergy I’m sure the airline is fab but I stand by the point I was trying to make which is if you have an allergy do not fly with them.
