Great video! I just received my identical unit. Unboxed, already to install and your video made it a breeze to watch first. Love the system. Thank you for your taking the time to make a perfect video.
You two are so great together just me and my Wife but you and I know how’s in charge I’m I right mate I’m a 57 near 58 years this and there’s 7 years between me and my wife but she is the BOSS all the best and god blessed all of you guys.
Just bought a RecPro and hubby will be doing a self install so your video will come in very handy. We have a 2015 fifth wheel and had to have the Dometic a/c replaced when the rv was one year old. Seems back then Dometic put out some bad units so it was replaced under warranty. The repair guy showed us how badly the a/c was taped so he did a great job on correcting that. He also told us to check each vent and make sure they were taped also. They were not so all of those (every one) was retaped. A/C in the bedroom was also retaped and there were scraps and junk found in it. Looking forward to having the ac installed...we are in Texas and it has been exhaustingly hot. We have been using a floor unit that vents out the window and it has kept us comfy but takes up floor space, making things a bit more cramped. Thank goodness the bedroom a/c has been working great. Thanks for your video
Nice job, but there are WAAAAAY better alternatives to a roof top unit if your camper has the space. I decommissioned the 2 roof top units on my camper and installed a mini split system. Super efficient and very very quiet. Love your videos
I still plan on taking my trailer on the road. Mini splits are not designed to be beat around. I am not sure how they will hold up long term if the trailer is moved. This new unit I put on is not like the old ones either. It is very efficient. I am putting two mini splits in my cabin build. I have one mini split in my home's sunroom. I love the mini splits.
@@TonysTractorAdventure that is awesome. I can appreciate that. Didn’t know about the improved roof top units. Thank you for your videos. I always find something you are doing that helps me in my projects
That is so much easier than i thought. My Rv has the thermostat and settings right up by the vents. So I really wouldn't have much extra to mess with. Great video you put together. Thank you sir.
I lived in a Lance TT for a couple years while I was traveling. One thing almost all travel trailers have in common is everything in them is fragile and prone to break. I was lucky, my A/C didn't break but almost everything else did.
I really enjoyed the video. I didn't know they made anything like that. I'm going to check on them and possibly put them in my new camper. I'm just wondering about the heat because ours has a heated under belly. Always enjoy the videos.
I think the heat pump will work really well in our area but I don't think it would be good up north. I think you would still need gas heat as a reserve. We have had the unit running for the last month and it has gone through 102° actual temperature with a hand index of 132. Condensation was running off the top of the travel trailer like a waterfall. Inside the travel trailer it was a comfortable 72.
@TonysTractorAdventure we are in the southwest part of VA so Temps get a little cool in the winter. We normally stop camping around December and start back up in mid February or late March. I guess I would just have to see how to wire the gas heat up with the heat pump. I hope you will do a follow up video .
Fantastic video guys. I'm finding the website for the 3800 states minimum roof thickness 3", maximum 3 3/8"... It looks like we're sitting as bout 3 3/4" (3/8" too thick) but your video shows what seems to be even thicker than that. Did you use the stock bolts, or order extended? The website says the extended bolts are only for the non-ducted model. Thanks for the video!
Tony off topic but I've landed on your channel as I've been researching TYM tractors specifically looking at the T25. There's a 2023 model at a dealership but was curious if you know when 2024 models come out or if there are any upgrades that you're hearing in that model?
Tractors don't run in year models. We keep up with modifications by serial number runs. Some serial number runs maybe 2 years long. I don't know of any big changes coming to the T25 other than red rims and possibly an optional step.
The duct you see in the video goes to the bathroom and the bedroom. On the other side, it goes to the common area. Any company that uses the whole ceiling cavity as a duct is not worth the salt that makes them up.
I want to do the swap and retain the propane heat as I live in a northern state. Any advice on that? I know I would have to keep the original thermostat and wire in the control box. I’m trying to remember is the roof unit ducts the air through the propane unit as well or is it a separate blower. Heat does go through floor vents and cool is from roof vents.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Do you think I should just go with the recpro and forget the Coleman compatibility possibility (run the propane with the same wires)? BTW, can you set the thermostat to heat at night if needed and cool in the day, like my home unit with a single setting?
@@greatlifedogtraining8720 went with the Coleman heat pump. Have to get the right control box. An additional wire turns on the heat pump. There’s a control box on Amazon that won’t work. If you need part numbers, let me know.
There is absolutely no reason to blow directly into the attic of any uninsulated structure ever. The duct work is there, but they were sloppy building the travel trailer and didn't finish the job. .
Making that judgment off of video sound might not be the most reliable or scientific way of doing it. FYI. You are right. It is a little louder than my mini splits. Still, mini splits are not meant to bounce down the road.
I live full time in my RV, been in it a year or so, and just discovered I have a heat pump in my Ac. Shocked at how efficient and well they work.
Absolutely. We run out until year round.

Geat job Tony. I bought the Klien version of those wire strippers and love them. Easy one handed use.
Once I got the hang of the strippers, it was a game changer.
Can't imagine I'll ever have to do that, but fascinating as always. Thanks for taking the time ma make and post.
Thank you! I hope I never have to do this again!
Awesome video as always. 24c is around 75.2f i was always told to add 40 to make Fahrenheit in Celsius.
Sorry add 50 😅 not 40
That sounds like a good rule.
Great job, Tony! Stay cool! 😎👍❄️
This new air conditioner is a night and day difference. It doesn't run near as long and it cools way better even with the fan on low.
Good video. Full watch!
Sleep well 😁
Nice job, Tony, great video!👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job great video thanks Tony and Tanya and gizmo

We bought this new and it has been a thorn in our side since after the first year.

Great video, I’m getting ready to replace mine. I also noticed your shelter that you had the RV under. Could you give me some info on that.?
I like that tractor implement, where did you get it? what is it called?
It's called a man basket. They are readily available in all sizes and weights.
Maybe do a follow up and current energy being used.

Great video. Buying a new RV won't be any better. They all are money traps.
That is a fact.
Does your camper have central air? because thats why it would blow into the roof.
There is absolutely no reason to blow directly into the attic of any uninsulated structure ever. The duct work is there, but they were sloppy building the travel trailer and didn't finish the job. .
Price of the new unit ?
There's a link in the video description.
Totally weird that they didn't tape off the cavity. Usually those cavities go to a remote vent in another room like the bedroom or something.
The rectangular holes are the actual ducks one on either side. As you could tell in the video, I was thoroughly disappointed in the construction.
Need to do the same thing to our RV. Can I borrow your tractor?
Sorry that sounds incredibly loud compared to a mini split
Making that judgment off of video sound might not be the most reliable or scientific way of doing it. FYI. You are right. It is a little louder than my mini splits. Still, mini splits are not meant to bounce down the road.
I'm always disappointed when I take stuff apart in my RV. The lack of workmanship and attention to detail is appalling.
It really is. They could be so awesome with some pride.
