I'm beers deep so soy boys shut up, but I think this speaks volumes about the way UFC builds, and plans for potential fights as a whole. I raved about this setup as as soon as Stone Cold signed the contract. Alex is my favorite fighter as of late but I feel it was built up. Its not so much about ranking and record now as it is about producing some entertaining fights. I love the direction this organization is heading. I just wish there was more dedication to every fight by commentators and their support roles. Professionalism throughout is the way forward to really impact large market sponsors.
I agree that Pereira did his call-out out of love and respect for his greatest rival, but I have a small counterpoint. Poatan is 36 years old. His biggest money fight in the UFC has been and likely always will be Izzy. If Izzy takes a three-year sabbatical, Pereira won't get another crack at him until he's 39 years old at earliest. Who knows what will have happened between now and then. Will he be able to defend against contenders like Hill and Ankalaev? Will he even still be relevant in 2027? Izzy will be-he'll get the Jon Jones/GSP return of the king treatment-but who knows where Pereira will be when he's 39. For him, the window to milk this rivalry is shutting much more quickly than it is for Izzy.
Who would have thought this would happen 4 years ago? This saga is so good that I honestly feel that if Izzy win at UFC 305. We might see them go at it again in November.
He is like Conor in the sense that he is a once in a life time talent. People cant stand that because it destroys their "hardest worker is the best fighter" image set by the rest of the roster. Every gym has that one guy who was just made for this shit and it pisses everybody off knowing how much they've sacrificed in comparison. He even talked about when he started rising in the UFC how suddenly many of the people who he considered friends start shit talking him behind their back, saying he doesn't train as hard as them and yet is miles ahead.
I know right? Why does Izzy mind break chud UFC fans so hard? Does it have to do with he fact that he was champ for so long? Does his success and refusal to submit in the face of adversity anger you? It’s the same with Francis, this guy was hating on him hard, hoping Fury would give him brain damage, now they’re suddenly his biggest fans 😂 Reminds me of that fat MMA TH-camr who changed his webpage to a KO’ed Usman after he was dominant for YEARS, the passive aggressive hate is real, lol - absolutely pathetic!!!
You guys desperately want to call Izzy the drunk guy at the bar after he cleared out the entire division with relative ease where Alex has done none or even held a title for more than one match, Izzy is not the villain you want him to be so desperately, he’s highlyaccomplished multimillionaire who does not need Alex and is entitled to a break if he wants one, just like John Jones, once Alex survives the title defense and is as active as izzy was then let’s talk about how they compare, all you hype casuals are so boring
@bloomaugustine8130 easy, he said he was returning the favor, izzy motivated him back then with his comments. The "come to daddy" was a purposeful jab to incite izzy to fight. Really is just some WWE ass line, ppl acting like it's the most disrespectful shit ever just to justify izzy completely jumping out the window with his reaction to it.
He didn't even mention that yikes. Guess the youngins are really in huh shows you how this happens though because those of us old enough to actually watch these sports for longer actually have input on more and its not a case of "back in my day" because no one argues that the UFC was better back then it wasn't but clearly a better rivalry overall to this point at least. But also hard for someone who wasn't there to actually input in hindsight - its the weird thing about age/eras huh he can't really in hindsight grade it
I don't like Adesanya at all, but I still have to give the guy credit for being an entertaining champion and having a great rivalry with Pereira. It was a great storyline, and it really aligned well, since Adesanya was clearly getting 0 competition from the middleweight division at the time, and Poatan and him were pretty much the only ones who could beat each other. The fight with Alex / Adesanya were legendary, and the way Izzy ate his words was also insane to see as well.
I feel like I'm coming full circle from strongly disliking Izzy to feeling bad for him to eventually liking him again or appreciating his part in this story
I think you misinterpreted Alex's offer of "help". The fights were ultra competitive at 185 lbs prolly because Potan has to cut sooooo much weight. Alex offering to "save" Izzy and fight for 205 lbs belt means Alex would be way bigger then he was even on MW fight night. Izzy was barely over the MW limit when he fought Jan at LHW. Potan would outweigh Izzy by about 40 lbs or so on fight night lolololol
it's actually crazy knowing he technically knocked out the best LHW Kickboxer in the UFC and came so close every time they fought previously. Especially considering his whole style has been developed from years and years of having the reach advantage to set up counters. I expected the fights to go similar to the Jan fight, just too big to do damage and constantly trading due to the length of their arms
*Brace Yourselves:* Izzy is still a champion level fighter his loss to Sean was hugely from external pressure + disgust EVERYONE showed him for the DDP rant + dog stuff which he COULD NOT DEFEND in any way which is 100% why he was so silent & ashamed at their press conference & most importantly.. He Killed Alex in their last fight with that KO weather u like it or not. They are close enough in size so that's no excuse Izzy CAN put on weight if he really wants to. He is acting like a coward trying to keep the last laugh & doesn't want to risk losing to Alex again after losing to him in so many more ways than just them fighting directly. -Alex Ko'ing Sean then Training Sean to dominate him. -Alex BECOMING the actual "good guy/Naruto" in Everyone's eyes when Izzy initially convinced ALL OF US he was the good guy & Alex was the evil scary guy. -Beating Jan when Izzy couldn't. -Winning LHW Belt when Izzy couldn't. Izzy KNOWS he has a 50% chance of beating Alex ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, they are close enough in height & weight + Izzy currently has the mental edge because he won their last fight & Izzy is faster than Alex witth his hands. Izzy CAN beat Alex today. In conclusion: Izzy doesn't want to RISK losing to Alex again & finally being seen as TOTALLY inferior to his toughest rival he has hated since 2016. Izzy KNOWS he CAN 100% win against Alex at any weightclass but he doesn't want to risk it. *He wants the last laugh.* That's whats making him look Cowardly in This specific situation. 🎯

Alex is right in that Izzy shouldnt waste his talent. Age wise Izzy is definitely past the mid point of his prime and if he wants to cement his legacy in combat sports it had to be now. While Alex defends against Jamahal Hill, Izzy should rematch Sean Strickland to regain his title. After that, the fight to make is Alex vs Izzy 3 at LHW. Seems unfair to give Izzy another title shot at LHW but then again this is the UFC, if the fight will make big bucks they'll make it happen.

Alex truly won the rivalry with his title win against Jiri. It‘s what izzi wasn‘t able to do and he called him out for a fight. And now izzi is ducking him and is the guy he said Alex was going to be, someone who says „I beat the guy one time“
Alex didn't grow up in a favela, he grew up as an aztec warlord enslaving the nearby villages and sacrificing people to the blood god
EDIT: do people usually fact check jokes?
This why general knowledge will be the downfall of the young lol
Poatan is Mexican?
Lol, he’s Brazilian, not Mexican
@@BTL_LTW You totally missed it.
(most) brazilian tribes did not sacrifice humans
congrats on 100k! you definitely deserve it
This may be slightly off topic but am I the only who think Izzy is trolling with the whole “2027” shit because it seems like something he would do
This, I always thought it was a joke but everyone treated it seriously and now it grew into something it was never meant to be
@@theseeker7692 bro thank you like peopel heard that shit and thought he was serious I knew off rip he was joking he’s probably gonna fight later next year
Lots of the chud UFC fans have a passionate hatred for Izzy, that’s why they believe it
"The ultra competitive division headed by Sean Strickland, of all people." Ha ha ha... I love it! My sentiment exactly.
This is a great rivalry with great substance but Jones Cormier and Liddell Ortiz was great too.
CHAMA! 🗿🔥🏹
everyone in the mma/fight scene seems to follow the same thumbnail style but clearly your content out matches all of them
The amount of hate gets is truly fascinating, all these nerds online talking shit to someone who can literally kill you is hilarious
Izzy makes the chud UFC fans seethe, that’s what’s behind the hate
So good to see you hit 100k subs man. Been here for a while and love the breakdowns 👍
The anime comparison was absolutely perfect
I already agree w/ the claim w/o hearing the argument, but I'm here for it
Great video bro! Would love to see you cover some older rivalries if you're into it!
I was eating when you said the Momo line. Literally had to pause for a solid minute to not choke to death XD
lol I can only imagine the heartache if Hill sparks out Alex. He’s going to be the most hated man in mma 😅😂
Nah, it's definitely possible. Hill is very dangerous.
would still put my money on Alex. And Hill just became super unlikeable in the past few days and Izzy is so scared to fight Alex at 205 cause he knows he loses 10 out of 10 times and got lucky once in 4 fights lmaoo@@ghost3337
@@ghost3337 I think it’s very possible as well. The only thing is he’s coming off injury. But if he can still close the distance like he used to…. I think he sleeps Alex
@@FinnMMAyour excuses are pathetic. He arguably won their first fight, was winning until he got knocked out in their second, once again was winning and almost knocked him out & woudlve if not for the bell in their first ufc fight. The irony in claiming he got lucky once 😂
@@Mpw846cope harder dogbender fangirl cry more excuses imagine getting slept by a guy with 7 mma fights also izzy clearly lost the first kb fight then got slept in the 2nd and 2nd mma fight alex dominated until 1 punch then sean just followed alexs game plan only difference was izzy didnt land a fluke right hand this time stay mad 7-1 loser
I would most definitely read a book about this. It needs to be turned into a book or a movie
as someone who’s not biased, the hero and villain never changed
I’ve always been on Poatans side and I saw him as a misunderstood good guy, somewhat reminiscent of Stitch. It’s nice to see everyone else view him as good as well now
This is honestly soooo true I disagreed until I watched this vid I forgot ab their kickboxing careers
Alex is a mean dog in the cage. you'd think Izzy would be all over it!

@@kyleh636hur hur, me make doggy joke! Me funny!
@@BTL_LTW You seem as butt hurt as Izzy's dog tbh
@@kyleh636 You sure that isnt a bad memory from you presenting yourself to Poatan so hard? You aren't even his fans - you just hate Izzy.
Yes exactly 100% agree here, no other rivalry comes even close to those 2... CHAMA
Izzy is like the main character who had to respawn 3 times to beat the final boss
Bro what is the beat playing in the background
Pereira really saved 2 divisions in the UFC, that alone makes him a legend!
You have to watch all four fights so you can really appreciate what these two have done for each other
Literally a movie man
Combat sports rivalry I think still goes to Ali v Frazier but this one is up there for sure.
It would be a real shame if we don’t get to see the trilogy for this great rivalry
Honestly I like both, they represent Braggadocious & Quiet Introvert fighters to me. It’d be cool if they end up like Apollo & Rocky
Who would have thought this would happen 4 years ago? This saga is so good that I honestly feel that if Izzy win at UFC 305. We might see them go at it again in November.
I just feel bad for Adesanya as he has always been so disrespected & underrated by MMA fans. He deserves better.
GAAAAAAAAAYYYY
I know right? Why does Izzy mind break chud UFC fans so hard? Does it have to do with he fact that he was champ for so long? Does his success and refusal to submit in the face of adversity anger you? It’s the same with Francis, this guy was hating on him hard, hoping Fury would give him brain damage, now they’re suddenly his biggest fans 😂 Reminds me of that fat MMA TH-camr who changed his webpage to a KO’ed Usman after he was dominant for YEARS, the passive aggressive hate is real, lol - absolutely pathetic!!!
ITS WILLY TIME (shoutout to the puppy)
Alex’s translator completely butchered his speech thank god we got accurate translations
thought I heard your voice somewhere then you said terminator, bro is the real John Connor
Grats on 100k
That Momo joke killed me 🤣🤣🤣
i thought this was a lucas video from the thumbnail but then saw the low quality pngs and realized it wasnt; quality is great though
You guys desperately want to call Izzy the drunk guy at the bar after he cleared out the entire division with relative ease where Alex has done none or even held a title for more than one match, Izzy is not the villain you want him to be so desperately, he’s highlyaccomplished multimillionaire who does not need Alex and is entitled to a break if he wants one, just like John Jones, once Alex survives the title defense and is as active as izzy was then let’s talk about how they compare, all you hype casuals are so boring
we know you like him cause hes a narutard weebs like you
"He's got money" the last remaining defense of the indefensible
😂
Ppl prefer silent winner and with reason ,Alex speedrunned the category
I feel like this legitimately needs to he made into a movie or an actual anime series.
They have an awesome saga, but it still doesn’t compare to the feeling of Khabib vs Conor back in the day.
Too bad izzy didn’t really understand the actual callout and just took offense.
He did lol but he's not in the mood
Did you hear the translator... Alex's coach is not a good Translator he missed all the main parts
@@izanagisburden9465 true kinda killed the moment.
“Come to daddy”, if another man says come to daddy to another man in the context of fighting how the hell is anyone not gonna take offense?
@bloomaugustine8130 easy, he said he was returning the favor, izzy motivated him back then with his comments. The "come to daddy" was a purposeful jab to incite izzy to fight. Really is just some WWE ass line, ppl acting like it's the most disrespectful shit ever just to justify izzy completely jumping out the window with his reaction to it.
Chuck vs Tito will always be the greatest. Its what kept the UFC alive
But also hard for someone who wasn't there to actually input in hindsight - its the weird thing about age/eras huh he can't really in hindsight grade it
Although I agree the story in alex vs izzy is insane, the pure hatred and disgust jones and dc had cant be matched
This could be made a TV series in the future.
Let’s get this straight, Alex has always been the good guy 🇧🇷
I don't like Adesanya at all, but I still have to give the guy credit for being an entertaining champion and having a great rivalry with Pereira. It was a great storyline, and it really aligned well, since Adesanya was clearly getting 0 competition from the middleweight division at the time, and Poatan and him were pretty much the only ones who could beat each other. The fight with Alex / Adesanya were legendary, and the way Izzy ate his words was also insane to see as well.
Izzy was never the “good guy”. He was just an imposter and everyone saw his true colours in recent times. Alex had always been the hero in this story.
They both made each other better, just like in the last avatar
The translator did such a bad job at translating in the post fight interview when he unusually does very well
Bispings story and sean strickland were pretty great
I feel like I'm coming full circle from strongly disliking Izzy to feeling bad for him to eventually liking him again or appreciating his part in this story
Greatest combat sport rivalry
Dope 💯
I didn't get the Aang didn't jerk off momo joke😂😂
Funny thing, now Izzy is the one who sits and says that he beat that guy once
I think you misinterpreted Alex's offer of "help". The fights were ultra competitive at 185 lbs prolly because Potan has to cut sooooo much weight. Alex offering to "save" Izzy and fight for 205 lbs belt means Alex would be way bigger then he was even on MW fight night. Izzy was barely over the MW limit when he fought Jan at LHW. Potan would outweigh Izzy by about 40 lbs or so on fight night lolololol
Sooooo, he runs and waiting for poatan to left UFC to coming back, whata a sissy.
@@1est1 you'd run from him too lol. He's stepped up to fight Potan 5 times already lol I
it's actually crazy knowing he technically knocked out the best LHW Kickboxer in the UFC and came so close every time they fought previously. Especially considering his whole style has been developed from years and years of having the reach advantage to set up counters. I expected the fights to go similar to the Jan fight, just too big to do damage and constantly trading due to the length of their arms
*Brace Yourselves:*
Izzy is still a champion level fighter his loss to Sean was hugely from external pressure + disgust EVERYONE showed him for the DDP rant + dog stuff which he COULD NOT DEFEND in any way which is 100% why he was so silent & ashamed at their press conference & most importantly..
Izzy was not barely over the mw limit, he weighed in at 204
No way. DC vs Jones was the greatest rivalry and second was DC vs Stipe. DC is the king of rivalries.
I agree with jones Vs DC but there wasn’t any heat on Stipe Vs DC and that’s part of what makes a great rivalry
@@lucastfitness7299 True
Comparing dogbender to zuko is crazy 😭💯
I can't understand how poatan was ever considered "the bad guy"!!! Never talked shit, followed a guy who taunted him, beat him, lost to him, nice person, funny !!
Day 1 of asking TJ for the weekly Friday vids
I still think DC v Jones is still on top. I was 12 years old seeing Jones and DC talk mad ish on TV got me into MMA.
Holy shit can you tell a fucking story 🤯
Uh. Izzy is by far the more skilled and technical fighter, but Alex is by far the more physically gifted fighter. His power is just insane.
Matt hughes vs Gsp
that some anime level of story holy🥶
Alex is right in that Izzy shouldnt waste his talent. Age wise Izzy is definitely past the mid point of his prime and if he wants to cement his legacy in combat sports it had to be now. While Alex defends against Jamahal Hill, Izzy should rematch Sean Strickland to regain his title. After that, the fight to make is Alex vs Izzy 3 at LHW. Seems unfair to give Izzy another title shot at LHW but then again this is the UFC, if the fight will make big bucks they'll make it happen.
