That's Jason Carter on the fiddle. One of the very best fiddlers out there. Robbie McCoury on Banjo, Ronnie McCoury on mandolin, Alan Bartrom on the upright bass and Del McCoury on vocals. I've seen these guys maybe 8 times and it's always a blast. Del's sons have a band of their own, The Traveling McCoury's and Ronnie sounds like his dad when he sings. I'll getcha some more.

Those are heavy hitters, Teez. Del can still bring it, and his son playing the mandolin has serious chops too. One of the best Bluegrass bands on the planet.

My favorite Bluegrass band for sure.

Del McCoury is 81 and still touring. That’s a mandolin not a ukulele and Ronnie McCoury is one the best mandolin pickers out there.

I too love a mandolins' sound; you might enjoy Mark Knopflers' song Monteleone. John Monteleone is an old school master craftsman of mandolins' and arch top guitars.

If you want to see some fancy pickin on the mando, here's a video of the late great Jeff Austin. I shot this video from the front row, with a 300mm lens to give a very intimate feel.

Love the banjo & fiddle! Wow, that's some fast pickin', those guys aren't playin'. They're Playin. Thoroughly enjoyable, whoever requested it. You have to hear some Danny Gatton.

Love Bluegrass 💖I'm a fan of Bill Monroe; "Mule Skinner Blues". "Walking In Jerusalem"; never heard this band; will explore! I love the energy, especially when the harmonies and yodels feature prominently. Nice to see Bluegrass on the channel! You cover it all, Teez! 😊

Trivia - Del McCoury was in Bill Monroe's band in 1963. Ronnie McCoury said he, Del, and Bill Monroe would meet for breakfast when he was a kid.

I'm a guy who's musical taste starts and ends with Pink Floyd, but I fell in love with listening to Del McCoury bands music. This song in particular along with Vincent Black Lightning and BlackJack County Chains.

The banjo originated in Africa as a black instrument. Lots of old footage of blacks playing banjo on TH-cam. You should check them out and react. I can't get any of the big black TH-cam reaction channels that i watch alot to do it. I subbed you. Hope you'll do it!!!!!

Bluegrass is pure and American. Music of the poor, working man. Before television, Internet and modern entertainment when people sang music of life. Its also tough for musicians compared to other forms of music. Jump in and get you some.

I can listen to bluegrass all day in person. It's weird but I can't listen to it recorded. It gets on my nerves, but if I see a bluegrass band live I can't get enough.
