No one would ever have tested a pack as thoroughly as you did. They just show the outside & the pockets. That was so fun to watch. You & Nick always put a smile on my face. Can’t wait to see the next overnighter using it, although I think you should treat yourself & take a fresh steak & cook yourself a nice dinner. You’ve got plenty of room for it & that’s all you need to add, just cook it on a rock. I love seeing your gear room. It always reminds me of the 90’s American comedy show we used to watch here in the U.K. Tim’s tool time. 😂 thanks for a fantastic video as always. Much love 💕
Oh I agree! Most just show the pack, some wont even wear one much less pack it or hike with it. Kile like flashlight reviewers. Lol. They showed that same show here all the time! It was called Home Improvement. I'm glad you liked it and Thanks for watching
Always be prepared. Better to have and not need it. You are so kind to answer even more questions when you don’t have to. I really enjoy listening to you. Good to hear Nick as well. Y’all stay safe!
I can not imagine a better test run than this video. I’m impressed by how stable the pack remained on your back even as you crawled around in, and got hooked by, the brush. 🥰
The Hidden Woodsman makes FANTASTIC gear. I can also say with the utmost confidence that Malcom is a GREAT person as well. Met him on several occasions. Thanks for sharing!
Welcome to Dave's Bamboo Playground! This looks more like escape and evasion than a day hike. He put a lot of gear into a 25 liter pack. Every piece was carefully selected from his vast stores. Few of us have so much to select from. I couldn't even get my sleeping bag into the pack! This past week, I have been working on assembling gear for a bug out bag that is about 40 liters in capacity. The load out advice here made a helpful checklist.
Looks like an excellent pack, and leave it you to prove it. Thanks again, Dave, for spending time with us. Keep flying below the radar. We may all need this info to survive soon. And watch out for your knees. You're not a spring chicken anymore. Thanks for helping us all learn and to just calm down.
It's an incredible pack Steve. I figure the quality of it will definitely make it Last a person's lifetime. Times are pretty scary now, stay safe and thanks for watching brother
I tell you what. You are a Heck of an organized guy. I'm very happy with seeing how well a guy (you) can pack a coco pot or a pack. Wow dude! Using the space you have effectively. Cool.
😀😀😀Lots of funny and amusing comments this time and well deserved... Was great watching you crawl around like a mis-placed turtle with Nick grunting behind the camera.... A really good show as usual from you both. That was a great video seeing you load that small rucksack with all the essentials so neat and tidy too! I prefer a hip belt on my rucksacks usually but that looked well supported and comfortable. Your gear videos are always worthwhile as I have bought a few pieces of equipment on your reviews and never regretted any of the purchases. It was the packing ideas you gave that I found best in this test. Many thanks as always to the both of you. Stay safe in this current climate. 👍👍👍
Thanks Spencer, I'm glad you liked it. We figure its always better to laugh a little rather than spread depressing thoughts. Lol. I think theres established ways of packing gear into a ruck but I look at each trip differently and each pack differently. Fantastic youve bought some gear youve seen me use! Take care and Thanks for watching
Its Always nice to see you have a new video to watch . Thanks for the information and entertainment as always !! Take care and stay safe my brothers !!!
Gotta say, like the review. If you’ve spoken to the maker, I bet that back pocket inside is for a water bladder and the loop you referred to is for the hose from the water bladder to serve as a guide. It locks it in and keeps the drink tube out of the way of the pack contents. Great to see you and Nick in the woods again! Have a great weekend!
Thank you very much for the HiddenWoodsman review. As someone who have used HW gear for the past few years I've been feeling very left out, since nobody else I know has it. Most folks go with either standard hiking bags, or "very militaristic" packs. I've tried both of those and it didn't work for me. HW did, though. That being said, I have a bit of a different version of the bigger pack, since mine had hip belt and it makes a difference. I do recommend it. As I've mentioned, though, I got mine a number of years back. I can not speak for the Survivor Pack, since it is new to me, but wanted to put a good word for the Hover Sack, since I have one and love it. It is a shoulder bag, like your canteen and about the same size. Shoulder bag is the recent addition to my kit and I don't know how I've gone out to the wild without it before. I really wish I would have found it sooner. Alas. It might be a bit strange to carry it with the big pack, but with your style of attaching the Pack, through the ax handle, I might steal that idea from you. Thank you very much for it! My Hover Sack has a pouch for a hatchet too and I usually carry a shovel on the bigger pack (if I need it), and a smaller hatchet/tomahawk on the Hover Sack. The great part is that if you carry only one longer tool, you can swap it to the bigger pack for march order and, after setting camp and leaving the bigger pack at the stage, move hatchet to the Sack for scout order. The other very interesting thing I wanted to mention about the hover sack is that it is, at least for me, a perfect size for a pillow. I've ended up sleeping in a debris shelter a few times due to being caught in cold weather... and the little hover sack was perfect as a pillow. That being said... Thank you for spotlighting HW gear again - I don't feel so left out any longer. =) Happy trails.
There you have it 40L of equipment in a 25L pack. I bet you could pack lunch enough for 3 people, into a thermos. Excellent job.!! I agree with not putting the water bottles on the sides. It seems to be able to slide through tighter areas without getting hung up. Great looking pack, great show. Thank you gentlemen.
I know the common theory is go light and then go lighter. I love how you packed. You are not going without and emergency ls far less likely because you are actually prepared for whatever
Another great video Dave, that hack with the pouch on the back is great. You could also cross the straps to help secure it. And a day hike for you could also be you in your back yard with Jim And Martha from next door watching you roll around on the ground wiggling your way into a home made sleep system. LOL! Be healthy and safe.
Really enjoyed your review. Especially the way you showed how to pack. I find a lot of what’s in my pack but never one on how and what to pack. I just ordered one of those in Ranger Green. Especially excited about it after seeing your video. Thanks so much!
I haven't done over nighters for quite some time. These days I just go to my long-term camp not too far in the woods. The pack I use for that is not all that big. I don't bring alot with me. But I do make sure to have certain tools. I always take my _BIG_ knife, my smaller knife (Mora), folding saw, auger (manual, not electric). I also bring a flat fold-up cushioned mat to sit on a hard surface, metal bottle of water (can be used in fire pit or hung above fire), my big metal cup (for fire pit), the cup is actually just part of a camping coffee press. You put coffee into heated water, then push the press down in the cup. I keep a couple of flash light in the pack. My ferro rod is in there along with lighter (in my pack and in my pocket) and matches. If I plan to go further in the woods or a location I'm not familiar with, I will definitely bring my water filtration device (Katadyn Vario). I presently don't have a sleeping bag, etc for camp outs. The one I have is big and bulky. I got it a while back for yard camping and for my room if power is out and gets real cold. It's says 2 Person, but I think you could fit 3 average size people beside each other in it. I go it for comfort and space. Sometimes I curl into a ball which is not really comfortable in a narrow bag. And I can put my things in there with me. Plenty of room in it. I will need to get a proper camp out bag, blanket or whatever works out in cost as I don't get much money, being on the welfare. BTW, they don't like being called welfare here... Sshhhh! Don't tell then I used that name! LOL Anyway, it does suck to have a lack of money and stores with so little good product in them, plus I hate doing online shopping and avoid it, which makes it more difficult getting things. I get what I can, when I can.
Thanks for the comments. I kinda hate being squished up too so I hate mummy style bags. On a budget? Hit the local Goodwill. The ones Ive been to often have sleeping bags.
Awesome video. I love your spirit that was a good test of the streamline of your pack and load out. Nick did very well following with a camera, no easy task where you took him. Nice pack. That gear room is full. Stay safe in these times.
I was really surprised by how much you were able to fit in that pack. The Hidden Woodsman definitely makes quality gear. I bet both of you guys were ready to relax when you got back from testing. A big thanks to both of you for making another great video. God bless and stay safe.
Usually, I can lay everything out on a table and eyeball what all will fit. Pack it right, pack it tight! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching and may God bless you too Rich.
Thank you david. 🌲🌲🌲 Glad to see you out having fun in the woods ! Enjoy that rucksack. Beautiful camouflage, just dont set it down and forget about it. Lol
Dave, Great set up and breakdown of your day / over night pack. Love the bamboo, I live in Wast Texas and we just dont have the bamboo, but plenty of pine trees.
I have that same day ruck in a different color for a year now. and have come to the same conclusions you have. I like how if my shoulders fit through a tight space I know the pack will not get caught. I put two small pouches one on each side for quick needs. I keep it loaded and ready to go . Malcom bulds a Great Pack.
It would be cool to make a shelter with some of that bamboo. I've always liked the fact that you carry what you need and will make you comfortable. Too many people emphasize going as light as possible and there are situations where that is not only more appropriate, but necessary to ensure one's safety and/or even to save one's life. But being comfortable, dry. cool or warm and adequately fed (With butter soaked steaks and yummy oatmeal) is important too.
I think most of those ultra light weighters get away with it because they are trail hiking. When others are near by, or shelters on the trail are there you have a little back up. When out on your own? Better have what you need. Thanks for watching Frank
Another great video! Great pack and sensible load out . Did not see the hack w the pack on the ax coming🙀 Really good idea. Keep’em coming! This is why I am a subscriber
Gobble Gobble you guys. Early start to the mountains for 3 days when the Gestapo here in California says stay home will you know that is not going to happen. Have a great turkey day . Happy trails
Enjoyed it Dave....!!! The Hidden Woodsman has some great products. BTW, when you use MOLLE or pals webbing, inter-lace the straps between the pouch and the pack.....it will hold that way even if the snaps come loose.
I enjoyed your video. I especially liked the load out section. I carried a coffee pot without those two handles on my last trip. I really missed those two handles. I was on a full two night trip and my load was 33 lbs. I did hammock camp with an under quilt.
Thanks Brian, I'm glad you liked it. I hear ya on the handles, it's a must have. I love a hammock in the winter along with my Snugpak Cocoon. Take care and thanks for watching
DAVE jan 15 will be your 10 year anniversary . i cant believe you have been doin this for 10 years and are still having just as much fun as you did when you started .
@@Reallybigmonkey1 i sure like to help with some ideas but the comments would kinda ruin the surprise . i have thought alot about that chernobyl heated tent . even if your still mad at that tent lol
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I believe this A-TACS is the best pattern Ive seen yet! And Im amazed at what that inner orange does. Thanks for watching
Just what I needed to see! I have been wanting a hidden woodsmen bag myself seeing that the quality and the craftsmanship is so High!! Also I hate having gear that I have to worry about when in the field... I like something that can be sat in the dirt get wet and dry and still be solid... Seems though their gear is right on the mark! Thanks for this Dave! Much-love! PS I know you know this already and I'm sure it just slipped your mind when recording the video but for the sake of others watching and learning, the tab on the inside of the bag above the orange pouch is for your Camelbak water bladder insert... The orange pouch holds the bladder and the loop at the top is there so that you can connect the bladder to keep it from falling down into the bag.
Its like having a game of tetrus with your pack and gear. I found it much more efficient and practical to put my sleep gear/ and clothing in the very bottom of the pack in a garbage bag as it was the last gear I may need on the trail, my food and cook kit was closer to the top. That way I didn't risk getting my sleep gear wet should it be raining, to get my food or snacks out. 8 days in the backcountry of Algonquin taught me to wisely choose my gear and how to pack it. 40 lb total weight including food and water. ATB - Heather Another good one!
Great video David and good thought out gear for a day trip. I too like to carry some extra. You never know what will happen, twist an ankle or can’t get out before daylight . I have the woodland camo day ruck, best 25 litre pack imo! God bless your house brother and all the good sensible people of the U.S the peach state is going BLUE!
@@EnduranceRoom The straps are thin, so they are not the most comfortable. I was thinking of replacing them. It's easy to do since the straps attach to d rings on the back (simply unclip to remove). But since I pack light, I have been able to deal with them. Haven't bothered to replace. But if I were often carrying a heavier load in it then I would do something different with the straps- either pad them or replace completely.
Heeeeey, Dave! Glad you're doing well in these times of uncertainty. Your videos are an inspiration to say the least. Good times! And Nick - thanks for being part of this. Your Dad is the man when it comes to Bushcraft tools. Especially his own design / made gear. I like those videos the best. Keep up the great camera work. I hope you have the opportunity to have a great bushcraft style Thanksgiving, and I wish the best to your family. (and the Kitties, too). Take care and the best regards, Jim G.
Heeeyyy Jim! And We are glad you liked it. I absolutely love making gear but sometimes making it on video doubles the work but I have a few more planned. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Thanks for watching
You definitely fit more gear in that pack than I thought you could! Even the weight was right! Love the set up, and the pack does look COOL! Another good video, Dave!!
@@Reallybigmonkey1 I sincerly have to tell you, how much you're channel has meant to me. And I may already have, but frankly, may have already told you and forgotten...When my wife was stuggling thhough an eventual losing fight with pancreatic cancer in 2016, tapping into your cchannel was one of my only reprieves from that depression. You've done, and you do, a great job taking us outdoors with you. Thanks so much Dave
Well we know you and your love of the silky saw I know that will be in your pack! Love the color of the camo looks like it would be a great pack! Its great to see you and Nick 2020 has been a long year and not enough of you guys 😊!
Hey Dave, it looks like a very efficient use of space. I always enjoy watching your thinking when packing out this stuff. It seems to me that the mission determines the pack out. Nice job!
Why would anyone give these guys a thumbs down I for one give ya'll many many thumbs way up Great job as always Best review of gear have seen in a very long time Some of the other guys out there trying to sell gear should be watching you Very good info And the price is right for the quality Hidden Woodsman has very quality stuff Thanks for sharing And yes take us along on an overnight Like the guy said ya'll are a great mental health RR You have some great comment and a very good following Thanks for the brain floss KEEP SAFE
Well after ten years of being on youtube I can say that theres bigger TH-camrs but nobody has talked to the viewers like I have. I can safely say 95% of my viewers and commentors are fantastic and very smart helpful folks. 5% are know it alls that are never happy. Thats where the thumbs downs come from. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching David
great video where we reside this tie of year we would have to have a larger liter for a day pack to carry what we would need in the mountains of upstate NY would need a cold weather bag not a light weight one loved how you loaded it out
Thanks Sara, I'm glad you liked it. Down south I can get by with much less gear. In the dead of winter I'll need more cold weather gear too. Thanks for watching
I’d say that was a thorough review and test of the Hidden Woodsmen gear, for sure! I like the way you attached the survival pouch to the ruck.... gives me an idea to try something. 👍🏻
looks like a great pac and you set it up very well. i like that you test stuff, makes a guy think a little. keep them coming. i'm too old and unhealthy, to do much myself anymore, but still feel the need to know how. stay safe and healthy,
My HW Day Ruk has been to Japan, Singapore, and Canada, along with all over the Redwoods in Nor-Cal. I love it! Mine has the waist/kidney belt. I'll never voluntarily part with it.
Nice daypack Dave! thanks for showing your loadout. I, like everyone else would like to see your loadouts with the large and medium Alice packs for overnighters or multiple day excursions. I never new where to draw the line on what to carry in a daypack. I also wanted to have enough gear in it if things went wrong to be prepared. Well thought out, thank you, I have a better idea of what to pack now. So far I just have the Hidden Woodsmen Possibles Pouch. Want to get more, when I can afford to. Take care Dave and Nick, wish you had a video every week. I understand though, I have a hard time keeping up with my subscriptions with my work schedule and everything that's going on. Never thought there wood be bamboo in Georgia, I thought it was only in Asia and South America jungles!
Thanks Jeff, I'm glad you liked it. For a daypack, I lay all my choices out on the table, then I look at them and narrow it down to a necessary pile thats just the right size. Usually for a large Alice I just throw everything in it I want and if theres room left over Ill double up on some items. Sounds odd but thats just me. And yes, we have bamboo and river cane both! Thanks for watching Brother
You can fit a Silky Big Boy 2000 in that axe loop, and if you get real creative you can make a rig to strap your machete to the axe loop. I have the same ruck in a different color. I’ve camped out of mine. I put my tarp on top in those loops rolled up, my bedroll sleep system on the bottom loops in a dry bag, water on one side, and my first aid on the other, silky in the axe loop, water on a sling to one side, knife on a sling to the other side. Great video by the way. And the way you put the survival pouch on is genius
Sweet set-up! I do long distance backpacking with a frameless pack. The poncho flat on your back is a good idea. The only thing I’d change is putting your lighter weight stuff like your sleeping bag and clothing on the bottom. I find the pack feels lighter that way.
I really like these simple (as in not overly complicated) packs. They work very well. That's why I love my Savotta Jaakari S. Thanks for the review! :)
From All The Great Comments, I would say This Gear & All His Others Is A Win WIn, Thanks Dave & Hay Nick, Happy Trails From The frosty Maritimes In Canada ATB T God Bless
That first downed tree you was crawling around and under looked like a good place for shelter. Maybe return to that spot one day for shelter video?? Or even a hidden shelter in all that bamboo. Oh yeah the pack looks awesome too!!! Thanks for another great show.
Dave another great video I like the way you tested the backpack quite funny you did have quite a lot for a day pack but I understand the need for unforeseen thinks that you need to be ready for. as I said great video 😎👌👌🏴🏴
I remember buying a cheap Amazon camera bag with an orange interior. I was skeptical of the orange really helping that much to reflect light and make seeing inside any easier. I was amazed at just how well it works. White? Yes. Orange? Also "Yes".
Another cool video . Love that packs colors !! I had tigers in the army . We found they worked best for us for the job we were doing . And , as you said . This pack looks like faded tiger stripe . Just a quick idea maybe for that aide pouch . A lot of times if I carry a exterior bag that only has a handle . If I can use Two carabiners thru the handle and then hook them into moly or other loops on the" side" or even top of the pack , I'll do that . If the handle isn't long enough with just biners , I 'll just make two loops from paracord , loop the para loops around the bag handle then use the carabiners on those paracord loop extensions and then hook the carabiner thru loops , moly and even shoulder strap loops . And because I """HATE"" loose stuff flopping around on my pack . I'll take two other LONG par loops around the top loops , criss cross them over the bag and then use loops on the bottom of the bag . Basically secured at the top with biners and then biners with criss crossed paracord OVER the bag , hooked at the bottom . You learn to tie shit off if you are moving thru the bush much . For noise AND ease of movement . Plus you do NOT want to get hung up , if ya gotta move & groove !!! hope you are able to take that load on a overnight soon . Be safe out there .. Gubs .
Great video as always 👍 great pack, thanks for sharing and thanks for the excellent camera work. You need to give Nick and raise for hazard pay. Stay safe guys👍👍

Thanks for the idea of attaching emergency pack with axe. Would have never thought of it. I enjoy all my Hidden Woodsmen gear.
I'm glad you liked that, Thanks for watching
Awesome video. I love your spirit that was a good test of the streamline of your pack and load out. Nick did very well following with a camera, no easy task where you took him. Nice pack. That gear room is full. Stay safe in these times.
Thanks Jef, We are glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Love love your videos. Please never stop
Making them. Great for times when I cant get out. From Florida be safe Dave
Thank you Ken! I'm glad you like them that much. Thanks for watching
I really like that ruck and pouch. The way you secured the axe and pouch is great. You sure fit a LOT in a 25 liter ruck...wow! Very nice!
Thanks Marjie! I'm glad you liked it. Amazing what can be packed in a small space if you try.
Glad to see you out having fun in the woods ! Enjoy that rucksack. Beautiful camouflage, just dont set it down and forget about it. Lol
Man this is a killer rucksack and probably my most favorite camo pattern of all time! Thanks for what you do and thanks for watching brother
Dave, Great set up and breakdown of your day / over night pack. Love the bamboo, I live in Wast Texas and we just dont have the bamboo, but plenty of pine trees.
Thanks Michael, I'm glad you liked it. We have bamboo and river cane here in abundance
Solid video. Great content for the community. Excellent period of instruction
Thank you Mathew!
Sounds great Samuel! Man he builds some tough gear! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Great review. My day ruck has never let me down. Loving the new camo.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I think these packs could easily last a lifetime. Thanks for watching
Thanks David! I have plenty more neat ideas in store. Thanks for watching brother
Gobble Gobble you guys. Early start to the mountains for 3 days when the Gestapo here in California says stay home will you know that is not going to happen. Have a great turkey day . Happy trails
Happy Thanksgiving Mike and enjoy your trip brother!
Enjoyed it Dave....!!! The Hidden Woodsman has some great products. BTW, when you use MOLLE or pals webbing, inter-lace the straps between the pouch and the pack.....it will hold that way even if the snaps come loose.
Thanks Todd, I'm glad you liked it. Excellent tip on the molle webbing. Thanks for watching
Thanks for reminding me, I didn't realize it was sneaking up on me! Maybe I'll do a special video on that.
@@Reallybigmonkey1 i sure like to help with some ideas but the comments would kinda ruin the surprise . i have thought alot about that chernobyl heated tent . even if your still mad at that tent lol
Very cool looking pack. That camo would be excellent in the fall up here in PA. Really like how he brightens up the inside of his bags.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Yep, it is some tough gear! Now that you mention the loop that makes sense. Thanks for watching
ATB - Heather
Another good one!
Good thinking Heather! I'm pretty sloppy on packing. Once a shelter is set up I just turn my pack upside down. Lol. Thanks for watching
Another awesome video Mr. Dave. That’s a good looking quality pack. I am quite jealous of your gear room also. 👍🏻👍🏻 Keep the videos coming.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the gear room and the video!
Thanks Eric, I'm glad you liked it. Man you know me, always be prepared when going out! Thanks for watching and may God bless you too
Great video Dave! Always makes for a great day when you release a new video
Thanks Jerry, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Whahaha...I love the testing part between the Bamboo. You two are all the time so funny. Love you guys. I will see you two the next time again.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching and see ya in the next one!
Hi Dave 🤓 I would love to see some overnighters by the master!
Here's one th-cam.com/video/j1a6IJ0zVK0/w-d-xo.html
ME TOO!!!
That's a cool bag. -Very practical. I've been going retro lately. Czech M60 rucksack. 1970s surplus, but looks WWII era to me.
Nice. Those are cool looking packs. How do you like the straps?
@@EnduranceRoom The straps are thin, so they are not the most comfortable. I was thinking of replacing them. It's easy to do since the straps attach to d rings on the back (simply unclip to remove). But since I pack light, I have been able to deal with them. Haven't bothered to replace. But if I were often carrying a heavier load in it then I would do something different with the straps- either pad them or replace completely.
Sounds great!
Take care and the best regards,
Jim G.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Over the years, I've gotten pretty good at eyeballing what fits in a backpack. Take care and thanks for watching Perry
Dave, I'm a long time fan and appreciate your videos. Good job!
Thank you for the support and thanks for watching Joe!
Great, infomative, usefull and entertaining. Thanks for your work Dave.
Thanks Julius, I'm glad you liked it
@@Reallybigmonkey1 I sincerly have to tell you, how much you're channel has meant to me.
Awesome video brotha! looked like some really fun tests, cant wait to see the overnighter!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Well we know you and your love of the silky saw I know that will be in your pack! Love the color of the camo looks like it would be a great pack! Its great to see you and Nick 2020 has been a long year and not enough of you guys 😊!
Absolutely! I do love my Silkies. And I'm so ready for 2020 to be done and over with. Thanks for watching Shell
Hey Dave, it looks like a very efficient use of space. I always enjoy watching your thinking when packing out this stuff. It seems to me that the mission determines the pack out. Nice job!
Hello Dr. Tom! I'm glad you liked it. Yes, what I pack always depends on location, season, climate and time of years. Thanks for watching
Wow, this is so cool, great pack Dave, Also, super fun video. Take care my friend 👍🙂
Thanks Mike, I'm glad you liked it all! Thanks for watching
great video where we reside this tie of year we would have to have a larger liter for a day pack to carry what we would need in the mountains of upstate NY would need a cold weather bag not a light weight one loved how you loaded it out
Thanks Sara, I'm glad you liked it.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I figure this is about as far as Ill need to push a packs use. Thanks for watching Chris
looks like a great pac and you set it up very well. i like that you test stuff, makes a guy think a little. keep them coming. i'm too old and unhealthy, to do much myself anymore, but still feel the need to know how. stay safe and healthy,
Thanks Curt, I'm glad you liked it. In getting old too so Im trying my best to eat right and exercise as often as possible. Thanks for watching
Awesome test video thank you both . You could swap out the ax for a short handle hatchet cut down on hangups.God bless .
Thanks Rodney, I'm glad you liked it. I have camp axes and hatchets I can use. Thanks for watching
My HW Day Ruk has been to Japan, Singapore, and Canada, along with all over the Redwoods in Nor-Cal. I love it! Mine has the waist/kidney belt. I'll never voluntarily part with it.
Now that is cool!
@@Reallybigmonkey1 I wish my pack was in your pack's color. Thats cool!
@@Reallybigmonkey1 That's a good way to do it!
THANK YOU very much dear Dave waiting for your next video - THANK YOU
Thank you Ofer and see you in the next one!
Dave, good pack. Just one important thing!!! FIRST AID!!!! I carry two, a small one on my belt and a bigger on in my pack
I showed a small kit in the outer pouch. Did you not see it? Good idea to have two kits.
Good ideas, I think the uses for that loop are endless! I have a few more ideas for it. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Just love that gear room. Sweet daypack, just gotta win the lottery to afford it!
Thanks Greg, I'm glad you liked it all
That bag looked awesome to us. And the video was as entertaining as always. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Thanks Michelle, I'm glad you liked it all. Thanks for watching
Thanks for another great and very informative video Dave.

Thank you sir. Appreciate your videos and your gear reviews. Makes me want get out and do it. Bye from Oregon

Fantastic to hear that!
Nice day pack/ multi day in survival situation. Thanks for video brother

I didn’t know we had Bamboo trees in the states . Learn something new everyday.
Yep, we have bamboo and river cane here. Thanks for watching
Probably not native.
@@thaliahelene Nope, not native at all down south
That was an Awesome demonstration Dave, you really give us more bang for our buck as the saying goes!! Lol
Love your videos and educational content!!
Thank you my friend!
Sweet set-up! I do long distance backpacking with a frameless pack. The poncho flat on your back is a good idea. The only thing I’d change is putting your lighter weight stuff like your sleeping bag and clothing on the bottom. I find the pack feels lighter that way.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Ive always put the heavy stuff on bottom so I may give that a test. Thanks for watching
Hi Dave. Thanks for sharing your experience and health to use the pack. ATB. Nigel
You are very welcome Nigel, and thanks for watching Brother!
Man.. I love Hidden woodsmen gear. It's so worth every penny.
Thanks for the video brother
Absolutely! Toughest hand made gear there is. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Just stopping by to wish you and yours a great Thanksgiving. Much love your way from North Carolina.👍
Thank you Marty and a Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I really like these simple (as in not overly complicated) packs. They work very well. That's why I love my Savotta Jaakari S.
Thanks for the review! :)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I love my Hidden Woodsman packs and I also do have a Savotta 339!
@@Reallybigmonkey1 Savotta 339, that's a classic. I've been eyeing this one for years! :)
I was gifted an Eton scorpion a few years ago it is absolutely amazing. I even charged my phone a few times on scout trips completely underrated
That is one fantastic radio!
The Hidden Woodsmen Day Ruck is a great pack. I've got one in OD green and it's become my go-to pack year around.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching Jim!
Once again you did another video with good, and informative idea's
Thank you Lester!
Wow! That's an amazing day pack!
And you guys really do live in a jungle there! Thanks for sharing!😊👍👍
Thanks Sarah, we are glad you liked it. There's some areas near the river that look exactly like a jungle
You put a heck of a lot of stuff in that bag.
I enjoyed this and got a few idea. Great bag!
Amazing what all it holds! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching Ken
From All The Great Comments, I would say This Gear & All His Others Is A Win WIn, Thanks Dave & Hay Nick, Happy Trails From The frosty Maritimes In Canada ATB T God Bless
An absolute win! We are glad you liked it Terry. Thanks for watching and may God bless you too!
Just what you need, more gear! Looks really well made. Enjoy.
Lol! Ah, one can never have too many choices. Thanks for watching my friend
That first downed tree you was crawling around and under looked like a good place for shelter. Maybe return to that spot one day for shelter video?? Or even a hidden shelter in all that bamboo. Oh yeah the pack looks awesome too!!! Thanks for another great show.
Yep, I kinda thought that would be a good frame for a shelter. I may go back there. Take care and thanks for watching Matt
@@Reallybigmonkey1 your welcome sir. Stay happy an healthy an will see you on the next video.
Dave another great video I like the way you tested the backpack quite funny you did have quite a lot for a day pack but I understand the need for unforeseen thinks that you need to be ready for. as I said great video
😎👌👌🏴🏴
Thanks Daivd, I'm glad you liked it. I figure ya gotta be prepared and its tough to test a pack if it aint fully loaded. Thanks for watching
I remember buying a cheap Amazon camera bag with an orange interior. I was skeptical of the orange really helping that much to reflect light and make seeing inside any easier. I was amazed at just how well it works. White? Yes. Orange? Also "Yes".
Thanks for the insight Peter
Good comedic test. Loved it.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it John
Gubs .
I'm glad you liked it Gubs and thanks for all the information!
Nice obstacle course Dave. I have several pieces of Malcolm's gear, and the ATAC's camo is cool. Y'all be safe.
