Hiya everyone! I've started a new channel specifically for my property videos, there's going to be Rightmove reacts, property tour reacts and much more. You can find it here if you enjoyed this one: th-cam.com/channels/kCirh_HrDiKlmBTdJDXwwA.html
Honestly I thought I liked living in London until I moved out of it. I realise how overpriced and overcrowded everything is. I feel so much better now I don’t live in London
Yay these are some of my favourite videos you do Maria! To be fair I already knew about the depressing rental prices, but the price of the parking spaces 😱
$300 per month is very very good price in London, but be careful it may only mean that you have got a special offer or discount on the first month, and the normal price one secondonth will become $600 or higher.
We live in a tenement in Glasgow, which is £350 PCM, for a 2 bedroom place, central heating double glazing all that, it's a council flat thou. In the 15 years we've live here they have put in a new kitchen, new bathroom and shower, changed the boiler a couple of times and replaced all the windows and the front door has been replaced with a very heavy sturdy thing with really decent locks on it, and updated the door entry intercom thingy. Love London thou, we have just came back from there actually. I lived in London myself back in the late 90's early 00's and we had a 1 bed unfurnished flat which was £600 a month, which 3 of us shared, we didn't really live there thou, just slept there, the other 2 guys worked nights, and our shifts meant we weren't all there at the same time.
Can I say, the way you presented the video was engaging and full of personality and humour. I like it. Re: finding somewhere to rent, its not just London where rents are high. I live in Weston-super-Mare and rents have shot up a lot over the last couple of years. I pay £475 from £395 to £425 for a fairly spacious one bedroom flat, yet has no central heating. I've seen house shares for £500! This is a town with a drug problem, very high crime rate and nothing to offer....unless you're over 50. I'm lucky compared to others and I've been here nine years. Bristol is extortionate as well. There needs to be rent caps and it needs to be accessible to everyone, especially as people have lost jobs due to Corona.
Girl, I laughed so much watching this, especially at myself because I’m currently looking for studio flats to rent in London and my budget is £700. I’m so dead (somebody help me)🤣🤣🤣
I'm a recently Retired NHS Scientist after 35 yrs. I planned to help my 2 Millenial New Teachers move out & afford deposits to rent in London nr schools they teach at - Then came COVID !! This must STOP. It contributes to Londoners & other cities poor mental & physica ill-health.
One thing that is so hard to find on Right Move, is an affordable flat, preferably £700PCM with all bills included and not a penny more, is so hard to find. Provided that you're not sharing the kitchen, bathroom, toilet or living room with anyone else. That is SO HARD to find for an affordable price in London. Too many estate agents are stupid and just want to let rooms. WHO TF WANTS JUST A ROOM. A single working professional needs a bigger space to unwind at the end of a long day of work, not just a double room. It's modern day living, not a permanent stay at the Travelodge.
So would you say 800gbp+ is average/ good for a studio flat (not having to share a kitchen and bathroom)? I'm moving to London next year for grad school and looking to be close to campus (holborn) which I know is Central so will be more pricey. I've been looking on Rightmove and found some good places but I think by next year the rent will go up because Covid may be under control/gone by then
That would be an AMAZING deal if you could find something like that in that area!! Although student accommodation is definitely cheaper so that area is something I don’t know much about never having to move here myself.. definitely try student specific! X
Student accommodation isn’t always cheaper at all but I’ve always live in house shares with other students and people my age which I’ve enjoyed !! Always have people to hang out with !
@@MariaJBlogs most grad programs do not have student accommodation. I think I'll just have to find a room to rent/ rent with other students in my grad program. it'll be easier to make friends that way, too!
The first flat you showed was a 1 bed flat share... so does that mean you would be sharing the bedroom... 😳 Oh and 500 a month is a mortgage cost in other places of the UK!x
Hahahahaha GOD I think surely they must mean one bed within a flat share... surely? 😂 and yes, if only I could get a mortgage for that here.. I’d be set for life 😭
BORRIS JOHNSON ruined Renting scheme by introducing (affordable rent) which is double the price of social rent. How do you manage to call something twice the price affordable. I call it (BORRIS RENT) so people relate better to it.
i’ve had this idea for a while of moving to london with my best friend and recently i saw so many cheap flats for rent with more than two bedrooms and i thought alright maybe this is shared or smth but it looked legit?? and it was in a pretty nice area in london so i don’t get if maybe i’m missing smth or the rent has really gone down 😅 i don’t wanna get my hopes up haha any advice would be appreciated 👌🏻
Hahaha they definitely have come down since the pandemic so it might be legit - depending on the price, you can get 2 beds for around £1500 + now! Always use a reputable website like rightmove or zoopla or the developers own! X
You still pay £800 a month and pay through the nose to live in a bedsit above a takeaway in rougher parts of London, especially East London, and still have to hear gangs of teenagers hanging about all night and people selling drugs, forget that, you can get a 1 bed or 2 bed property in a nice neighbourhood up North for the same price in cities like Manchester and Leeds.
Students don’t care , the studios are for them ! No sane working adult would live there ! Complete waste of time looking at less than £1000 a month in London for anything half decent !!
My friend owns a studio flat in highgate . It’s gone up 110,000 in 16 years . She’s about to sell . That’s a great investment. Agreed though regarding renting , nowadays studios in London are extortionate prices especially in zone 1/2.
Perhaps it's because I've lived in the Midwestern US for so long, but the pretentiousness about the furniture makes me laugh. Where I live in the US no apartments are furnished or even have appliances as standard. If you think this is a joke, look at apartments in LA or NY.
For a studio you will have to pay council tax and bills. Up the bill from 500 to 650-700. And you are so spoiled! :-) Being able to see yourself in a skinny mirror is the last problem on your list when you are looking for a place to live in London. :-))))))
London rents have plummeted a lot due to a lot of people moving out of London. There are a lot of cheap rentals out there. By the way, you're a pretty girl.
Hey I want to move to London very soon, what place do you think is the best for me to move to, and what websites do you think I should use. And do you have any tips for someone moving to London, I’m 18 and will be living alone
My friend lives in temple fortune zone 3. It’s 5 mins to Golders Green & still It’s just under £350 a week for a 1 bed. South London zone 3 though agreed would be very far out from central London .
400 will get you a house in other countries 😂 euhm don’t think so where I live you can’t even rent a parking space under 1k 😂 maybe in third world countries but not in Europe unfortunately
