Really informative video. I am looking for a Florida Gulf fishing boat in this length category and had, up to now, only considered center consoles. Now, I am swaying toward a Steiger Miami.
I have had both boats…The 23 is tippy…The 28’ is stable side to side and a much better headsea boat. Downside is fuel burn. 3mpg vs 1.5 mpg. I need more boat for Northern California. I run a bar to get in and out. The 23’ is a good So Cal and Bay boat…Both boats are very good following sea boats. Broaching is no joke.
@@raypabs5374 both boats do well in following sea…broaching is a act of the boat and generally occurs with a following sea…The forefoot imprint on a Steiger are relatively Shallow compared to said a Carolina headsea boat like a Blackfin or a Cabo. The Steiger does not chime walk in a following sea like these boats, but they will pound going uphill and having double chimes in shallow forefoot. The two are almost mutually exclusive.
@@BlueWhaler17 Hello, my budget is $120K for a new 23 footer pilot house that is trailerable with a 250 outboard. My two choices so far are Parker or Steiger. Can you recommend a smother and more seaworthy boat that is enclosed for occasional offshore trips? I currently fish the waters of Long Island, NY but soon I'll be retiring to coastal waters of florida; might even trailer the boat to San Diego at some point.
@@philOKC 20 grand for a seakeeper on this too much money. Plus it’s only effective for drifting or trolling. It’s not going to help running at speed. Better to get a wider boat with a 10ft beam. I may put a seakeeper on my 28’ Steiger because it will allow me to fish in rougher water.
I don’t like the position of the throttle , looks too far fowrd and too high , can you even use when sitting on the seat. And front windscreens too small, not good view at all, , looks nice otherwise
Liked how you used the other guy as ballast as you walked along the cabin ! Had a 21 ft Steiger it will lean a lot when doing that ! Tricky .

I like that 28 twin outboard that was lurking in the background
It's morphed into a real beauty.
Can I squeeze (2) outboards on the transom?
I think there is a big compromise making these boats narrow enough to be trailerable. More beam makes a more stable boat with more interior room.
Who in the hell is bringing a fish inside the pilothouse??? Thats dry storage bro
I have to agree, especially not a profusely bleeding tuna! 😂
Those transom rod holders drain directly onto the batteries.

So both boats do well on broaching seas?

@BlueWhaler17 I think I would invest in a SeaKeeper

Wow, that's a nice boat.
The cabin is too small. There is no way to overnight on this thing.
Sleep outside who cares
@@JedemPoKucama Not with mosquitos!!! They'll eat you alive!!! We are in Florida, remember? (For those who are, at least....)
@@floridaoutdooradventures8981 You would do better with a Ranger 23 tug with a generator and air conditioning.
As a Miami native. I'm embarrassed for this bathtub being called a Miami.
you hit your head twice and had a hard time coming out of the cabin, I think I'll stay with Grady White
Wait 'til you are 70 and see how well you climb up out of anything! 🤣
