Fun fact: During an interview made by NME to The Avalanches, Robbie Chater said that the reason why this song is so catchy and funky, is that they tried to make a similar feeling as how they did with Since I Left You, as well as they were inspired by a part of the lyrics of Basement Jaxx - “Red Alert”. Accordin to Consequence, the song it may also had inspirations from “And The Beat Goes On” made by The Whispers in 1980, as well as inspirations with “Music Sounds Better With You” by Stardust in 1998, but The Avalanches didn't mention any other inspiration apart from the Basement Jaxx song and a samples by Salty Miller and Devoted Soul.

The 4-on-the-floor beat in this song is disco all the way, from its character and punch, to how it was achieved. Check out some SOS Band, Earth Wind & Fire, Bee Gees, Sharon Brown, etc. You'll catch it.
