For you, RJJ, You Raise Me Up can be a beautiful song about another person (rather than "a fictional entity"). That's the nice thing about art! When watching a painting or listening to a song, what you get is what you put into the piece, yourself. People will find what's meaningful to them. 🙂
You are right with Secret garden, but it became a big hit with Josh Groban. Tommy basically doing everything in his videos, all the instruments, back vocals and arrangement. Filming is usually done by his GF but he’s doing all the editing. Nice reaction 👍
This was fun for Tommy .. for me a fun thing ..yes one of the favourites.. but then again all his songs are favourites.. the top favorites .. classics : 18 and a life, alone and who wants to live forever .. converts to metal : sun is shining or basket case .. his own ( and my all time favourite : the light 20 year celebration ( but be prepared for power/speed metal with soaring vocals) .. 🌹
You surprised me when you put this song up. I believe you told me the other day that you had a reaction to She's Gone ready. Not complaining, anything with Tommy shows off his talents. So far I've seen Tommy play guitar, bass, keyboard/piano, drums, recorder, accordion, harmonica and mouth harp in various videos. He can also draw beautifully and have illustrated albums and videos himself. In his cover of Circle of Life you can see him sketch. He is also a good music arranger. When his band Sabaton, who mostly do their own music sometimes covers another artist it's our man who adapts and arranges and he has also done some arrangements and instrumentation for Floor Jansen of Nightwish in her solo projects. The ever repeated phrase- because Floor is married to the drummer of Sabaton Hannes Van Dahl and thus a friend. Started his career young. Formed his first band at age 15 which now has celebrated their 20 years anniversary, former RainXeed now Majestica. One of his albums for Majestica is an adaption of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol that he's set to traditionsl carols that he then has rearranged and metalized. Reputedly a really nice, humble likable guy.
