    Somebody has been listening to the longest John's. This song is one of my favourites. Nothing like a good sea shanty.

    Oh my gosh these are fantastic harmonies! Seriously amazing! I have seen this song everywhere lately but have no idea where it originally came from! 😅

      According to the internet:
      Origins
      Known as “Soon May the Wellerman Come” as well as “Wellerman” or “The Wellerman,” the sea shanty from New Zealand dates back to 1860.
      I know that it’s referring to whalling ships and the term “tonguing is done” refers to the gutting and cutting up of the whale. Quite gruesome really. 😢
