Love this army! It might be one of the coolest projects I've seen in 40k, but hearing all about the thought and effort put behind a model, without seeing a close-up while it is described is such a frustratingly missed opportunity. Please think about it going forward. Love your work!
Totally understand, I have some shots of some of the models on Instagram (not to playon quality but they give you an idea) and I would be happy to show them of on stream if you stop by and ask!
Ok. For the Seraphim, do one squad where instead of Hand Flamers, see if you can source bits that look like Spray Cans, and make them punk rock graffiti artists. The other squad, for bolt pistols, look and see if you can find some kind of Revolver bit (a reference to Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver). For Zephyrim, I'd see if you can find some weird steam punk wings for them, and give them a bit of a steam punk aesthetic. Bonus points: I didn't see a Castigator tank in there, and you can't get much more punk rock than a Tank Girl conversion.
@@drrhino_ glad you like them! :) if you don't mind pirating bits from minis for other games, Malifaux might be a good place to check for at least some of it, and they should be in roughly the same scale.
Seraphim: Jetpecks can be Huge Speakers with Rockets, so it screams Metal(Could Play War Pigs) as they launch. Can easily do a Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne like set for them. Have Guitar Chain Axes or Guitar Power Axes for melee.
genuinely one of the coolest most unique armies I've seen so far in my time kind of watching and delving into 40k. incredible work from DrRhino, absolutely love it. Could do different musical factions for 40k for various genres and have a pretty wild time.
The most wholesome vid y’all have ever dropped! So rad he’s only been painting for a couple years and started because of your vid! Just inspiring. One of the raddest armies I’ve seen anyone create in all of 40k!!
Holy cow you are too kind thank you! I really appreciate it! If you are so inclined you can stop by my twitch channel if you have any questions or want to see the army up close!
Absolutely gorgeous army. I adore every video you guys put out, but I think the army showcases are my favorite. So much hobby passion and such INSPIRING conversions. I have many projects, but not nearly as much just...going ham on conversions. I need to fix that.
Love you guys stuff. Your channel and miniwargaming got me into the hobby and are the best thing to binge while I build and paint. Keep up the amazing work guys.
For the Melee Jump Units, Replace the swords with Axes. And I mean, Guitar Axes. The Idea being the musician breaking their guitar on the stage. In theory, You could also do it with other instruments! As for the Ranged ones, Either Shoulder-mounted Speakers, And give them Microphones (Could call them "The Banshee Squadron" lead by "Sister Siouxie") Or go Pyrotechniques. REALLY expand on the flames.
For Seraphim, similar to CSM Raptors who use Vox terror, the wing blades couple be modded into flutes and you can say that they play the high notes / solos during the battle by powering their jump packs. Zephyrim can have their legs below the knee replaced with power swords and that frees up their hands for microphones or just hands up, general gestures. Both can have mobile "stage lighting" built in with directional LEDs if that is possible to fit in their backpacks or wings. Great work, it is a really cool project idea. Cannot believe you finished it in 9 weeks.
I think something super cool for the jetpack units would be adding some neon-color smoke-bomb effects out the back that connect them to the base. Add some big pops of color. It would also be cool if they were holding lighting equipment or something.
This is amazing! This and the grot guard have got to be my most favorite armies on your Channel because they're conversions that don't heavily use unofficial models. Still waiting on you guys to invite One Last Blade up from Oregon for a grey Knights battle ;)
I absolutely ADORE this army. I am WAY too poor to get into 40k which is a damn shame, but this kind of project is already awesome, but just the perfect blend of Punk Rock aesthetics and Sisters of Battle is just... it's just perfect. I love badass tough ladies, and I love Punk Rock/Metal, and this is just the most awesome army project I've ever seen. This makes me WANT to get into 40k, unfortunately it's such an expensive hobby, but maybe one day, one day.
Well, you need a Dialogus and a Dogmata or two done up as lead singers, just belting their battle hymns into microphones, for certain. Too bad you don't have older, more flat-faced Rhinos ... they'd be ideal for doing the sides up like a painted van. What, you don't think Canoness Veridyan wouldn't pose for van art? Hah! Lastly is to make a Battle Sanctum up as a proper stage, with a nice giant backdrop video screen behind it. That'd be the crowning piece!
I'm currently making my own custom necron dynasty, but because I'm newer to 40k, I don't really have access to the things that I could use to make them completely unique, so for right now they are just a different color scheme. But seeing custom armies like this kind of got me into 40k, like tabletop time's space bears, your grot guard and other cool armies I really like this channel and its content too, keep it up!
For the seraphim, maybe you could drill out the circle bits on their wings and replace them with little speakers or else swap the wings out with, like, one demon wing and one angel wing or something edgy like that?
I would Love to see some close-ups of these units, the designs have such detail that it's hard to get a good look with just the panning shots. Loved hearing about all the specifics though, wonderful job on these!
love love love this army!! some ideas: for seraphim/zephyrim: brandon's idea of the spray cans for hand flamers is better than anything i could come up with. for zephyrim, maybe sub in chainswords (the larger space marine chainswords) for power swords? and for the jetpacks, instead of using the clear plastic flight stand, support the models on huge pillars of multicolored smoke another great way to expand the army would be into the engines of redemption and ecclesiarchal units - crusaders, death cult assassins, arco-flagellants, and penitent engines/mortifiers all lend themselves to this really well. imagine throwing a mosh pit of arco-flagellants at your opponent... and the engines are just begging for some type of mad max doof warrior conversion (its not much of a stretch really).
So wait a minute. He converted a full army and even explained how they came to be. Meanwhile Nick decided against recording his Gue'vesa because they're not allowed to be deployed with T'au anymore.
i love this army so much especially cause my 1st kitbash project is trying to make a dethklok noisemarine squad so you better believe im taking some notes watching this!

If DrRhino wants to do a big conversion and possibly get super creative on making it punk rock? He could always try to turn the Truimph of Saint Katheine or the woman on the flying pulpit into punk rock versions!
I'm so envious of this conversion. Makes me wish I'd done it with my Sisters. All I've done is use colors inspired by my band of choice and sneak in lyrical references on weapons and seals. To round it all off you need to add our lord and saviour Lemmy might be unfair tho on the battlefield. Flying jack and cokes and razor sharp ace of spades would just to much for any army to handle

Would love to see an exorcist in the form of the doof warrior vehicle from the latest madmax. Bringing in the drum concept mentioned, but with a guitar sister hanging on the front
*Inquisitor:* "These sisters have fallen to Slaanesh!"

That's really awesome, I love this idea so much
oh Brütal Legend axe style. I like.
My first thought was stage diving. Jumping off mini stages or speaker stacks or even crowd surfing on imperial guard models or something.
Metal angel wings Ride of the Valkyries style, very heavy metal

Ironically, Iron Maiden boss Steve Harris is known to really hate punk rock XD This army is fantastic, by the way. Very well done.

The hair improvement is the best part, but the theme to rival Slaanesh's noise marines is also top notch
