This is the army that inspired me to start building and playing 40k. I was so disappointed when I learnt that I couldn't buy that defiler model haha. It has now inspired me to make my own converted CSM army though, I love the story aspect behind it. Awesome work!

I look forward to the next time we see him battle and I want him to know I am rooting for him. For the Greater Good! Seeing this army again though was a real treat and I loved every little detail on them!
I come back to this army so often. This is the most impressive army I am aware exists. The conversion, the feeling of it, the bubble domes…the lady marines aspect is just icing on the “they are your models make them yours” cake. I really love this army. Every time I do a conversion I think of it.
That chaos army is a great reminder of just how brilliant the scope of 40k lore allows for so much creative freedom. It’s a big galaxy half thrown into darkness with no interplanetary contact so just about any backstory you can come up with for your army could fit into the canon if it follows the rules. So great that you can tell most of that story just by looking at your army. Well done!
I think Deamonettes as marines would be cool, but i think their heads on a marine body would look abit strange and disproportionate. I think you’d have to make custom armour suitable for a deamonette frame, which is admittedly a lot more work but might look better. Just my thoughts
Good idea. I have an Emperor's Children army. For my Noise Marines, I used ammo crates from a WW2 set, filed them down, and turned them into sound speakers, with which I replaced the heads with.
This makes me happy. I just started getting into the game and picked up my first kit, not a lot done on it with limited time but I'm already all about the story and how I can reflect that. THanks for the awesome showcase!

I have to say this original game was one of the first I seen as I have just started getting into this game! Had that “challenge accepted” moment with all the inspiration you guys have done with these armies and love that you guys have began to showcase not only the games but the set ups of the terrain along with videos like these! Thank you for doing this and would love to some day get to this level and play with you all 😊
Thank you Nick and Nick. I watched this army play a few months ago in the batrep and it did indeed inspire me to start an army. I'm working on a conversion now of Genestealer cults converted into a chaos cult based on the villians of the books for Eisenhorn and Gideon Ravenor.
Well they technically did, and didn't. The warp is weird. Sure the gods manifested in the physical realm at different times (most notably Slaanesh), but from what I gather they've always existed in the warp due to it's non-chronological flow of time

The lore contradicts itself a bunch, probably due to the difficulties of having a time-chronological dimension exist parallel to a timey-wimey dimension and having it make sense.
Nick, you're a wonderful story teller. Not only with your effusive and charismatic way of showing your passion for the hobby, but in the way you've crafted and created this amazing army. Amazing story, amazing hobby skill on display. The HZD vibes came through really well on that Defiler. I am really digging the Tau as well, with that incredible battle damage. Plus, having the pilots outside of their battle suits is a really nice touch, and kind of "humanizes" those units a bit more.
Beautifully done! Couldn't have expressed the story telling and hobby aspect of the game any better! I'm currently building a Thousand Sons army and am using alot of conversions myself, so seeing this definitely gave me some extra motivation and inspiration! Cheers guys!

This is why I’m jealous of non-imperium players/painters. With imperium, if you want it to still look like the faction you chose, there is t much freedom to customize. With most other factions, the sky is the limit even if you still make it recognizable. The models are so wild and cool looking that you can change them up and still have them look right. It was one of the reasons choosing my army was difficult because I had to trade customization away for the lore and gameplay. Xenos and Chaos players, keep being awesome!
I completely agree with you. However, with my Tau (and Space Wolves previously) those restrictions increased the challenge, fun, and creativity in a slightly different way: how can I make these unique while staying "inside the lines"? It's a different type of creativity than building crazy mechs, but still lots of fun.
@@gravcarto8314 That makes sense. I’ve been trying to do that with my Blood Angels but not with the mindset of it being a challenge. I’ve just sort of added a small detail on one or two. I think I’m going to change that and challenge myself. Your models have so much personality to them and I’d really like to try and achieve my own brand of that.

The Chaos Space Man Army returns! I think about these '50s Space Bowl helmets far too often. This army is top 10 most visually impactful I've ever seen.

I absolutely adore this army to death. Though I gotta ask the question - a lot of Chaos Nick's army here is of course out of the GW range. The dragon, the demon prince, those are creature cast. You wouldn't normally be able to play in a GW store or at a tournament because of those issues, right? Not that this takes away from how amazing this army is of course, I'm just thinking about like, limitations on where you can play with them because of how they are built.

I'm building a BA army. I love that my army has a story too (like you) the story is that this small force of BA has been fighting for so many years on a feral planet and they had lost all the communication with the chapter so the models in my army are dirty with a lot of weathering on them (the story is forced but I like it very much and painting them is really relaxing and fun) Edit: sorry for the English, I'm from a non-English country.
You inspired me to do a lot more conversions. I play Orks so that's a good fit. ATM I'm working on a big Mek with KFF. A friend of mine told me he looks like he was bought that way so that's a nice compliment. I'll definitely use more wires now :D
I love how his defiler (whatever the big walky thing is) looks like a Watcher from Horizon: Zero Dawn. Aramin also looks spectacular with the revenant Dark Angels theme.
Gralevicz is most likely from polish origins as in my language (czech, neighbour to poland) it is kralevic and it´s like "noble" or "worthy to be a king". Superb army, I´ve been collecting CHSM for 20 years.

I find it helps when making creative decisions with the army, it puts them in a place and time.

There are lots of awesome TH-camrs out there who can teach you the basics of painting minis, don't wait to jump in to it!

Building an army towards a story is my favorite way to do it.
I absolutely love all of the members of PoT but Nick should be the face of PoT. Seeing Nick (The Hoofmaster) is an instant joy.
