Ha!! That's crazy, I'm all about taking things apart, but here I am with a extra CR2032 expecting some easy pull the back cover, slap it in on my company laptop with a dead cmos! Nope! Ridiculously over complicated placement. IT department... here you go.

I have this model HP laptop, it runs great with Linux Mint! But seriously?! You have to practically pull the whole damn laptop apart to get to the stinking little CMOS battery? There appears to be plenty of space inside for a more easily accessible battery slot, but they sandwiched it *under* the stupid mo-bo. Earlier models of Elitebooks just made you pull the back cover and pull the battery holder to replace the coin battery. Just plain silly and awful component packing.

Hi, may i know how many pins is the CMOS battery for this model? Is HP 820 G4 having the same cmos battery?
    Thanks

Hi - it’s been a while but I think it was 2 pins and G4 would be similar too.

Hello, thanks for the video, I tried to remove it to reset my bios. It worked : it said that the bios has been factory reset but I still need to enter a password, do you have any Idea ?

Hello - You will need to buy a replacement bios chip and old chip needs to be removed and new one soldered on. There is services where they do this and some also request from manufacturer the unlocking code.

Hello, my PC doesn't power on while unplugged. I guess it's this little battery right? Will it reset anything if I remove it ?

Hello, try this method - Take the main system battery out and hold the power button down for 30 seconds and then put the battery back in.

Hello. Sorry I commented on another comment on another video. I thought you was someone else. I honestly wouldn’t know in regards to the 725 g3 but they are similar in regards to build. Let me know how you get on and if it’s the same method? Thanks.

    Hi Friend,
I tried finding CMOS battery in my HP laptop but it's missing.
Any idea where it could be secretly placed.
I searched for coin shaped CMOS battery but I failed

Hello friend- have you got the same model laptop? Also the only thing I can suggest is check on both sides of the motherboard.

I liked this laptop until I realized that you had to remove practically everything just to replace the cheapest part (a cmos battery). Poor engineering where that is concerned
