This has been the BEST tutorial for the Bissell CrossWave I've seen. Thank you so much! Mine has sat sad and lonely in the corner of the laundry room... today I cleaned half the house. LOL. I seriously can't believe I waited this long to learn to use it. It is FANTASTIC. PS - The filter on the dirty water container DOES come off to be replaced... I accidentally dislodged it!

The wife just bought this and told me I couldn’t use it until I read the instructions, ended up just YouTubing it and used this video for the basics, thanks.

Thank you for demonstrating in the real world what the PetPro is intended for. It's surprising how many reviewers don't review it with pets in mind! And you are the first to point out that the roller for the rug has bristles in it (I was truly wondering what the difference was). Currently, my 10 yr old Dyson DC26 (130 watts) is compact, picks up cat litter (the bane of my existence) and easily goes under the couch and beds. It appears the the Bissell Crosswave may be too bulky to do go under beds/couches, and I'm not sure whether the water might spill out at such an angle. After vacuuming, I use Bona on my wood floor with a O-Cedar mop pads. It dries very quickly. Though my cleaning regimen probably doesn't clean as thoroughly as the Pet Pro, it just seems easier than having to fill the tank, dump the water repeatedly, then at the end clean all the parts.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ACTUALLY SHOWING IT CLEANING YOUR CARPET! So many other review videos I’ve watched don’t do that and it’s SO FRUSTRATING, because I really want one of these but I’ve been skeptical about buying it, but you’ve cleared up any hesitation I have about buying it, thank you! :)

Thanks for sharing this amazing review. Your video showed and answered the questions that I had. Cause I lost the book that it came with it, so I was pretty clueless about a lot of things.
The reason that this was so was that I became hospitalized.
Now that I can use it. The video helped me out very much, and I liked seeing things done instead of reading, too! I have the same vacuum except mine is CORDLESS.
Along with my not having pets. Though I have carpet, unfortunately, mostly all through the house. Which I am allergic to, and all pets.
I needed a vacuum that could do everything easier. Cause I put my lower lumbar spine out, and I am waiting for it to be fixed.
As you mentioned, I'm older absolutely now and can't get on my hands and knees any longer.
Once again, thanks so much for your video.

I looked at both the cordless and the one with the cord. I have over 2400 sq ft of new laminate flooring. The corded one is the best for me. It has more power from the reviews I watched and I watched a ton. Plus the cordless wouldn’t let me do my whole house before recharging. You got a good one

My daughter borrowed her friend’s Bissell Crosswave and I fell in love with it what it did on my daughter’s floors with 3 kids, 3 small indoor dogs, and a cat, plus an injured dog or poultry bird once in awhile. After watching your video I had to get one for my floors that get covered with fur from our Rough Cut Jack Russell. I can’t wait to use it once it arrives.

Thank you so much for this review! I have been looking at this for years and have always hesitated because I have 2 Samoyed's a Chocolate Lab and a Maine Coon cat, not your average pet hair here! I hate cleaning my floors too because it takes forever to vacuum and then mop and even if I have to go a little slower with this it will still be less time overall, so I will take the plunge and buy it, thanks again.

Eight rescue dogs from a pocket beagle to a Great Pyrenees, young big dog, mid-size middle age, and two old small dogs. Everyone has a preference for potty time, and then there are the “sneaky pee” spots when the weather is bad. Between the broom, the vacuum and mopping, my back is killing me by the time I’m done. Your video convinced me to purchase the unit, because I am so WORN OUT with mopping, and constantly changing the water. It makes zero sense to shove dirty water around with your mop head. God bless you for sharing your experience with a hands-on demonstration. I would add that the floor appears dry when you’ve finished going over it, and that is a huge problem with a push mop and 8 dogs. They just have to “help” like your furbaby, which means wet paw prints everywhere. I’m so excited!!

At around 15 mins, you start to clean the brush and the bottom foot of the vacuum. If you used the tray it comes with and do the self cleaning, you don’t have to do it by hand. It cleans all that yuck up and you can just rinse the brush head under running water and dump the dirt from the canister.

I have shiny dark wood floors, and every crumb and hair shows up. I run the Bissell robot vac-mop once a day during the week. It does a decent job, and it keeps the dust and grime to a tolerable level until my thorough weekly cleaning day. I’m excited about the Cordless Bissell CrossWave. 30ish minutes of battery life is plenty, because I clean the house by living space category and would charge after each area is finished.

To remove that filter just pull up on it. There is a screen behind it. Every time you clean out your machine rinse that filter and clean out the screen behind it then let it dry. Replace the filter with a new one about every four months. You will be glad you did. After having not changed the filter in a long time you will be able to tell an immediate difference in the sucking power of your machine with a new filter.

Just got our first Pet Pro Yesterday and am planning ob giving it a run this evening. I also decided to go with the one that has the cord because of the very same reason that the battery charge doesn't last but a mere 20 - 30 minutes. Why pay an extra $ 100.00 for that when having the corded one , you can vacuum as long as you need . Can't wait to try it out !

    • @misterkota1252
      @misterkota1252 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Mine lasts 30 minutes guaranteed every time. It looks like they put extra reserve capacity into the battery design but cap the usage at 30 minutes through firmware. because it tells you the battery is depleted after 30 minutes, though the battery is really only discharged 80%. This ensures the machine doesn’t feel like it is losing power over time.

I own this model (called the Crosswave Advanced here in Europe). Cons...if you have to clean up something small and really messy don't bother- cleaning the vacuum and all the various parts/bits and pieces afterwards are not worth the time and effort- in my opinion (a lot less hassle with a wet rag/cloth). Make no mistake tho, it will clean up virtually anything perfectly. It's also a little loud if that bothers you (over 82dB I think). Small niggle- doesn't go completely flat so difficult to get under small items of furniture. PRO's...for a once or twice a month quick light wet mop of a larger area/ whole house clean then this vac is brilliant. I have all tiled floors upstairs and downstairs in my home and this thing works great and using the various Bissell solutions leaves a nice smell too (disappears quickly tho...i.e. next day). Vacuum also works great on laminate flooring which I had in my previous home. Another huge plus for this vacuum...it works very well on short pile area rugs. I have a short pile black and white Kelim Persian rug and I dropped coffee on it. Using the Bissell cleaning solution in the blue bottle (can't remember exact name may be Oxy clean or something similar- has Scotchgard protector) in conjunction with the multisurface roller brush and the dedicated rug and carpet rollerbrush the stain was completely removed (this was achieved by taking the heavy coffee spillage out first by running under the tap in the bathtub). I don't know how it would perform with a wet vac on a longer pile rug as I have not tested that. Vac also works very well as a standard dry vac and the power cable is a decent length- but as mentioned earlier, the little Bissell can be quite loud for some especially if you are used to a Dyson or something. This product also won a prestigious European Red Dot design award. The version here in Europe also has a nicer color scheme than the US model- ours is mostly black with some silver and blue details. So to sum up, I use my standard Dyson for daily vacuuming and the Crosswave comes out once or twice a month for a whole house wet mop. Thumbs up from Spain.

Thanks for mentioning how loud it is. I'm considering it to replace vacuuming and steam mopping my tile. My current vacuum is really quiet and the steam mop is just the sound of steam so I hadn't considered how loud this would be.

I have had one for two years now and never really used it as a cleaner just more of a vacuum for my camper. Finally today I wanted to try it and not sure if i was doing something wrong or what but it didn't have any water in the dirty tank just a bunch of dirt and what not. It was a little damp but for the amount of water that was used I noticed it wasn't sucking it up just collecting under where the brush is so I took it apart and cleaned everything. Will know soon if it helped, I know this is an older video and you have done figured it out or it's been said in the comments already but definitely check and change the filer if needed, I took mine out and I don't see how anything was getting threw the filter. Also noticed it was running hot so definitely check it. I bought this off a couple that used it two times and decided to get a bigger carpet cleaner so I know it hasn't been used much.

Been contemplating on what wet/dry vac to buy and this helped me a lot as I have 3 geriatric cats (so lots of incontinence issues, some barf, and of course random cat hair everywhere). I have all tile and hardwood (no rugs) and I had a hard time finding a video that actually shows it vacuuming up pet hair! I'm never going to be vacuuming over a plate of pasta or a cracked egg with the shell even if it is a wet/dry vac!! I needed to make sure it could do dried urine or barf that I came downstairs to the next day and suck up pet hair. Thank you so much for this. I can see it's a bit of PITA to clean once done, but I can deal with that if it cuts down on the mopping/vacuuming time. Thanks again!

I operate a cat sanctuary. An actual two-story cat house. I was hoping this would make clean-up easier. It DOES pick up cat hair, kibble, etc. The pet formula does leave the floor smelling fresh. I elected to get the "Natural" Pet formula as I avoid Febreze because of the VOCs. However there are some serious drawbacks and that is with the clean-up afterwards. You basically have to disassemble most of the unit to clean it. I think I spent more time cleaning the Crosswave than cleaning the floors!

  • @TheDoctracie2

Can you use this as a regular vacuum BEFORE you mop the floor with it? I know it adds extra time, but I have several cats, and they fling litter and I don't want the mopping part to turn the clay litter into cement-like and ruin my vacuum. Thank you for any answers or advice.

    • @misterkota1252
      @misterkota1252 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I can answer your question as I have used both the corded and cordless max. Yes you can dry vacuum with this but I would recommend against it because it’s almost inevitable that you will inadvertently touch the trigger and accidentally dispense some solution as the trigger is quite sensitive. The problem with this is you end up with a clay-like mess sticking to every internal part and it’s a headache to clean. When I clean up kitty litter I switch to the area rug mode and drench the roller. Otherwise the kitty litter particles glue themselves to the squeegee. If you have several days worth of hair or litter on the floor, it might be better to vacuum or sweep it up, but for every day cleaning, the machine can handle the sweeping and mopping all at once. Just have faith and use the machine for what it’s designed for which is to save you time and effort by combining the sweeping and mopping into one step. This machine is best when used for everyday maintenance of a clean floor. Regular usage actually allows the self cleaning cycle work most effectively. But you can also take the machine to the sink and run tap water directly into the debris channel to rinse it out like I do periodically. Good luck!

I just bought the cordless one and will be testing it out in the next few days. I have two cats one of which is very fluffy. I also have two robot vacuums that run every day and I bought this mostly to do the moping cause there’s nothing I hate more than mopping with a manual mop and carrying around a bucket up and down my house which has two floors plus washing the mop afterwards. @@sarahelizabeth9817 the machine is great. It may be a little annoying to clean it but I prefer that than dealing with a wet mop and carrying a bucket. To be honest it wasn’t so necessary for me but a nice thing to have to clean up messes and clean things that have liquid and bits of food or other debris. For regular cleaning I think a spray mop and a robot vacuum would be best.

I've watched reviews of the cordless model which takes ten hours to charge and will run for a maximum of thirty minutes then you have to recharge it again for ten hours. I'd rather have the electric model with the power cord.

Corded is cheaper and has way more power!!! If you’re going cordless you really have to watch the reviews to figure out which cordless brand/model is the best. With the corded versions it’s a no brainer. The corded Crosswave always wins. It works very well, is simple to use, and cleanup is quick.

    Your review was good.
Only thing I would like to add is the area rug you cleaned the dog do off was an old and cheap rug from the looks of it. 2nd when cleaning any rug with the Crosswave your best bet is to get the ALL BRISTLE CARPET BRUSH for the machine. I have the corded Pet Model same as you. I tried cleaning a bath rug and wall to wall carpet with the All Purpose Brush. It was a dismal failure unless you are cleaning flat Indoor/outdoor carpet. Otherwise the brush bogs down. I called Bissell Customer Service. They recommend the CARPET BRUSH.
I went Online and found a PACKAGE DEAL of the Carpet Brush plus I think 2 other brushes plus a FILTER for $26.00
Usually replacement brushes for the Crosswave sell for about $15-$16.00 a piece not counting a filter.
I have NO COMPLAINTS with the machine. I had a water leak in my house that left a very large rust stain on my wall to wall carpet. I used the Crosswave with Bissell Multi Surface Cleaner plus a little Sanitizer & Dawn Dishwashing soap. It took me some time and I had to let the carpet dry thoroughly for a day to see how the stain was coming out but THE STAIN WAS COMPLETELY GONE after cleaning it 3 times for about 15 minutes each time.
It probably could have been thoroughly cleaned in one day but I am disabled and can only stand for about 10 minutes per day.
You have to remember ON TILE TO GET THE BRUSH THOROUGHLY WET BEFORE STARTING TO SCRUB FLOOR.
Usually 3 or 4 15-20 second pulls on the Trigger do the trick.
Vacuum once clean to dry the floor. Floor gets almost bone dry or dry completely.
Clean Brush in tray using cleaning water to soak and vacuum brush about a minute or two in spurts till brush looks clean. Then Empty Dirty Water Bin and Rinse Brush in tray using Clean Warm Water from Cleaning Cup in spurts and do this 3 or 4 times. Then use Vacuum by itself in tray in spurts To COMPLETELY DRY AND FLUFF BRUSH. Take brush out of machine. Check for Cleanness and rinse under warm to hot water if necessary then put onto Brush Roll Holder on tray to thoroughly dry. Wipe out machine with warm water and Dawn then warm water. CLEAN TANKS AND FILTER. That takes 45 minutes. Put them aside to dry for 24 hours. Use spare dry filter if you decide to clean before other filter is still drying.
I like Corded machine because I clean my Tiled Kitchen, Breakfast Room and 2 Full sized Bathrooms at one time and since I'm slow... a rechargeable 30 minute machine won't work for me. HOWEVER... I am thinking of using the Corded machine strictly for my Wall to Wall Carpeting and getting the New Crosswave Cordless Max for my Bathrooms, Kitchen, and Breakfast Room for its Easy Access and Quick Use for Easy Pickups and Quick Cleaning for them. The 30 minute run time is more than adequate for the 2 bathrooms on one charge. And the large kitchen and breakfast room on another if needed.
I tried to get the MAX for Free from Bissell since I saw many reviews on their machines were part of a Promotions Deal and figured since I am a Disabled Veteran might stand a chance of getting one. Alas... those reviewers were from Great Britain. Guess US Customers aren't allowed in that Club.
But I tried. Bissell Customer Service was very helpful about that. The young Lady I talked to checked if Bissell was doing that on the MAX but not at this time. Maybe in the future here.
    BISSELL ARE YOU LISTENING?
Anyway... BISSELL YOU MAKE A GREAT MACHINE IN THE CROSSWAVES.
    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
    Have a Great Day Everybody.

The cordless one takes a long time to charge and it only lasts about 20 or 30 mins. I also think it’s not as powerful and If you are taking your time and doing a good job the battery just doesn’t last. It’s also 100 dollars more so be happy you didn’t get that one.

The tray that she said she hasn't used yet is where you just put some water into the tray, set the washer onto the tray and turn on the power so it cleans out the brushes and inside the machine. It will suck all that back up into the dirty water water tank -- then your machine is cleaned and ready to go for the next day.

Thank you for the video . It helped me make a decision on whether I want to buy one. I don't think I will be buying one . I am going to stay with my cordless vacuum and still use my streamer as it only takes distilled water and kills 99.99 % of germs through steam. Then I only have to wash the cloth cover that it came with. I can buy a new cloth cover when it gets wore out . Only water left is clean water all the dirt goes into the cloth and some steamer actually have disposal cloths which aren't expensive.
