I really like my Honda 300 Rally, its a great bike that taken me from England to the TET in Spain and France, but its now priced at £6,579 plus another £1300 to make the suspension decent. KTM 390 Adventure R £6,699 in the UK with hopefully good adjustable suspension, larger engine, colour, TFT display, Rider modes inc ABS cornering etc. It's a compelling package if you can live with the extra 20kgs and I have to admit it looks incredible. Well done KTM, I think you've got a real winner.
300L with fuel 140kg. 390 Adventure R 168kg with fuel. 28kg difference is a lot once you add luggage. Theres also the glaring KTM reliability problems and looming bankruptcy. Who wants to get behind that?
@@nathanf3230 Thanks Nathan. Some good points. I didn’t realise until yesterday that A2 regulations set a limit of 0.2 Kw per Kg. So unless they either make the bike non A2 compliant or reduce the engine power then the minimum weight for any 35Kw bike is going to need to be 175Kgs. Hence why the bike is heavier than the less powerful CRF 300.
@@jthelakes147 Imagine if the bike wasn't A2 compliant! Would've been pretty incredible. Should've been around around 150kg wet weight like the new Drz4s. Drz4s doesn't have a 6th gear though. Will stick with my Honda CRF300L.
@kailashsingh7169 No my friend, it's because of the density of the liquid. The relationship between mass and volume is called density, and measures the amount of mass that fits in a given volume. Water has a density of 1 kg /L, that is, 1 liter of water has a mass of exactly 1 kg. Whereas, The density of mercury is 13.6 kilograms per liter (at room temperature). The density of petrol ranges from 0.71-0.77 kg/L (varies based on temperature - if you fill your petrol at a time when the temperature is lesser, you will get more miles out of it). So I am not high 😃
Looks really good, as a motorbike offroad beginner this seems to be exactly what I am looking for. As it is right now I am deciding between 390 adventure R , BMW 450 GS or bit heavier but also more powerful Touareg 660 25 or T7 25.
The redesign appears like a successful one. The bike looks much better and will certainly perform much better off road. My only criticism is pricing a bit on the high side, and the X version is unnecessary in my opinion.
For almost five years, I have been waiting for this bike, if the company will launch it in India at a higher price, then I will cancel it and plan a four wheeler.
But why? I mean even if they launch it at 4 ex showroom. I doubt you can get a car that can do the things this bike can. Unless you are thinking from a family perspective.
I currently have an 890 R, it's a bike that I only use for offroad, I like it a lot but it's quite heavy when I want to get into very rough roads, I'm a medium-experience offroad driver. I want to know what you think about changing my current 890 bike for this 390 Adventure R, I like that it's almost 100 pounds lighter, and that it's much thinner, which makes it easier for my feet to reach the ground; this bike comes with all the electronics that I currently have on the 890, and since I already have another road bike (BMW R1300), I'm thinking about changing the offroad one, what do you think, should I change the 890 for this new 390 Adventure R?
Hi, im on the same boat. I have the 23 890 Adventure R, but i will trade it in for the 390 Adventure R. If it had been available in 2024, thats what i would have picked
I rode my 2021 890 Rally like a dual sport. I had so much fun on it. Then last year I realized I was getting tired of how much work it was to stay with guys on their small bikes. What am I trying to prove? I realized my aging body was one moment away from disaster. I was riding it like Chris Birch but without his fitness or that extra bit of talent he has. At 62 I sold it and got a BMW 1300GS and figured my dual sport Husky 350 would work as a lightweight ADV bike. I like the BIG GS but it sucks at being playful on the hard dirt sections. It is not a big DS like the 890 was. The Husky belongs in the woods on hero sections and not ADV rides. I needed something that was lighter than the 890 but could carry its features. Bingo! The deposit went in yesterday. I look forward to riding it the same way they market it in these videos.
get a KTM 250 2 stroke xcw and go have real fun on the trails without getting tired lugging a heavy bike around.... then get a Vstron 650 for dirt roads and street... perfect set up
Yes they will 😂. They are just restructuring. Companies of KTMs size don’t just close down. They’ve already switched CEOs and the courts have just gave the much more leway to handle things on their own.
As if the minute you go into the river, the water enters into the exhaust unit, travels hard rigt, then passes through the catalisator and then up on the pipes and then left into the engine.....Jesus man... do you think those engineers when they thought about that offroad oriented bike nobody asked or thought about water crossing ?

Yes. That would be very tempting but for now I’ll stay with my 153kg Rally.
A more dirt oriented, small ADV bike is exactly what we needed, unlike the previous 390 Adventure which was more street biased.
14 liter petrol is only about 10.5 kg. So the wet weight should be less than 176kg.
R u high??

Plus oil, brake fluid and coolant??
where did you get that 8999 + 300 euros??? the website clearly says 7880 +300?
can anyone explain please explain the benefit of underbelly exhaust in ADVs?
Exhoust is wrong if you need a pass deep water or need a jump big stone what happened?
Ktm 390 adventure r ❤🇮🇳

I'm in the same boat . T7 or this. I live in Japan so it depends on the price too
I had a T7. I sold it because it's really heavy and I knew there's no way I could pick it up solo.
They nailed it.

I was waiting for a small tuareg with a 2 cylinder engine, unfortunately I don't think they plan to release it. Ktm will probably.
Damn it looks good
Good to see they have brakes

bhai four wheeler ki baat bikes mei kahan se aa gayi? Pedal hai kya dimaag se
@@WolfyMarcus they might launch it at 5 or they will cut down few features and release at 5
Why is this so much heavier than the 690/701? It’s only a single. I would have expected 140kg dry. I’m keeping my 701.
BMW 450 GS looks way better 🤔 I will wait

I’d say yes, I’ve got the GasGas 700 still enjoying the power, and a KTM 300, but I’d look at this in 3-4 yrs time.
Bring on the 690 Adventure R!
Nice
It should weigh less than a drz 400.
8k for 400cc sigle is not budget
Nailed it… but nobody is going to buy a KTM anymore
Yes they will 😂. They are just restructuring. Companies of KTMs size don’t just close down. They’ve already switched CEOs and the courts have just gave the much more leway to handle things on their own.
I will
I'm thinking of buying the enduro
People who buy KTM ride very little. Once the km's add up, stuff start breaking rapidly.
Too expensive
For me
Engine and futures ✅
Design ❌
off-road bike with the exhaust exit under the engine!!!!! Are you serious?? ready to race, but don't cross rivers......what a joke
It's a big flaw from KTM.
You just have to go fast and on just the back wheel.
I always wheelie through high water anyway, so not an issue for me.

It shows you assuming instead of doing research th-cam.com/video/oqMc1q_dEGc/w-d-xo.html
The engine spoils this bike. I know, I’ve had a 390 ADV before.
