Skel the Shapeshifter yes she did do those things to the club members but you also just have to look at it from her perspective. She is self aware of her existence as a character in a game. She doesn't see her club members ad friends, she sees them as just ai. This doesn't really justify her actions but when you think about it, it can at least make you question our existence. Imagine if you became self aware and realized that you exist only to serve the purpose of someone else and all your friends and family are just stimulations of a real person. Monika at her core truely just feels alone in a universe that she doesn't belong in and relies on you the player to make her feel like she's not alone. that's why it can be easy to feel sympathetic for her even though she did something horrible but at the end of the game, she still shows remorse and puts the game back together.
But she admits at the end that she saw them as her friends, she just didn't care that much since they were only simulations. Or something like that. I forget the exact wording. But if that was the case, my life wouldn't be that different. But anyway, that's not the point. My question was how does this video convey that? Because I- I don't get it.

Not really. Once you think about it, Monika was the only one who was aware and the rest were just programmed to fit into on personality. Yuri doesn’t even exist either way since she is just a program (although technically Monika is too, but this is following the story, not real life). Yuri is just a program, unlike Monika. She was exploring what she could do while the game was being played, and things changed so quickly, so drastically. It best fits Monika. Yuri is too overpraised anyway. She’s the creepy girl who’s into death and sad stuff so I’m like ‘stay away from the creepy girl who is already creepy enough’
lexiconical I see what you mean, the girls were only programmed to do what the script says, and when Monika tampered with the game, their script adapted to the certain situation. On the other hand, during the second act, before yuri kills her self, she seems to be very aware that there is something definitely wrong with her. She can’t control herself. I think the same could be said for all of them, cause as you progress, natsuki can also tell that something is very wrong with Monika. Sayori is different cause when Monika is deleted, sayori becomes sentient. So to a certain degree, the girls were somewhat self aware that something is wrong. Whether it was the game script that recognized this or the girls actually knew something was up themselves, is up to debate. Funny thing is, we can’t decipher whether Monika knows she’s a program or whether she knows she’s sentient because that was part of her character, regardless if it’s intended to be part of the story or not. So the girls are really are in the same category.
I feel like, If you dig deep enough, all of the characters have many similarities. It may not seem like it on the surface though. However that's just my opinion :>
Legit chills man. Absolutely blew me away. I was expecting the normal kind of Echo versions, but this had an extra level of thought put into it and man does it pay off.
I like DDLC, I like this song, but I also like how they blend together. Not just overall, given the glitch-art aesthetic of both and references to Monika tampering with the code of the game, but most especially the detail you put into this! Two things to note: 1: "Why can't I see all the colours that you see?" puts Monika's poems, referencing the fact that she is meta-aware stating that, like any game, all light is coded into being gradients of blue, red and green, into more perspective. She literally just sees three colours where we recognise way, way more than just those three in our reality. It's still sort of coincidental like most other things in this video, but this line is more literal in direct reference to her literary work in-game. 2: "My enemy's invisible", then Monika being invisible just for that line. This *can't* be coincidence, given that's not in the original video of Crusher-P. It also sort of edges on philosophy, given that this visual cue can be interpreted as Monika being her own enemy; why that is, would mean delving straight into philosophy as opposed to merely touching upon it, of course. Overall, it's a good video! Keep up making awesome stuff!
I thought "my enemy's invisible" was meant either as: A)Some concept, more precisely a loneliness that will torment her forever. B)An invisible wall that seperates the virtual reality (in which Monika is) and the actual reality (in which the Player is).
Finally! I haven't exactly searched for DDLC music videos, but this is the first one I've seen show up in my feed, game's been out long enough. I guess part of the problem is it's a visual novel and it's hard to make a video out of still images. But this worked out great! I loved the just Monika part by the way!

Watching how everything interacted and worked individually gave me nightmares just thinking about how many layers this had to be made of. A+ for for sure

This actually captures the story of the game quite accurately. A lot of people seem to think that DDLC is a story of Monika vs The Player, but what the story is *actually* about is more Monika vs The Game Itself. And when she finally realises that neither she nor her friends can ever truly conquer the game's in-built system, she simply goes Ground Zero and nukes/deletes the place to kingdom come (hence, "burn the house down into an ugly black"), so that no one has to suffer anymore torment. As such, I think this video is really cleverly put together. Good job. :)
