Malcom - I've been grilling steak for 45 years. This recipe sounded intriguing. I did a little comparison between your rub and my go to coffee garlic rub from Trader Joes. Identical w/except ancho chili and cumin + brown sugar. I've been using this rub for about 8 years. It's only available this time of year so I highly recommend giving it a shot. Thanks for teaching me how to smoke!
SO happy to see some Flat Iron steak!!! I'm a butcher and loves these. When customers ask me for a good cheaper steak I always suggest a Flat Iron steak! Amazing flavors and tender. Also a Chuck Eye steak but those are often the butchers take home! hahah

Might be a small detail but I love that u include starting the fire in your videos, many other youtubers just have the grill already on and is no fun , like seen those charcoals getting hot and the smoke, this channel is the best
I love to BBQ as well, a couple years ago I shared some beef with my neighbor and he said something like this "I have years smelling that BBQ smoke and finally I am going to find out how it taste". Quite honestly I felt embarrassed I didn't share him some BBQ beef before. So if you BBQ share it with your neighbor, he/she might be seeing you through the window.. LOL.
Lot of people don't like a flat iron steak ! I DO ! ~ i love it ! That makes that much more for me YUM take a slice of meat, put it on a slice of bread to wrap it ~ i'am a happy man 😁 👍 can put it in a flour tortilla too, or with some onions and some hot sauce ect.
Hey Malcolm, I don't happen to have a set of the grill grates, but I have a hard time keeping my Weber at or above 500f. Any tips? I'm using a chimney, letting it burn for 20 minutes, closing the Weber and letting it heat for 10 minutes with vents fully open where it will just BARELY hit 500, so when I cook the steak it ends up with hardly any grill marks at all
