    DING! DING! DING! The old hymns are the feelings of our difficulties and joys and our crying out to the Lord! My prayer for quite awhile has been that more and more of the old hymns would come back into the church, on the radio and as CD's!
    I love to sing. Everyone can sing. You don't have to sing perfect God just says to "Make a Joyful Noise"! Amen and Amen.

    Very encouraging. My mother had MS she had lots of prayer but was never healed. She has her healing now in the presence of Jesus. Thanks for all you're doing

    I always think these shows couldn't get any better, but they do! Wow! I love the topics and the MUSIC!! This is one I'll watch again for sure, especially for the music. Christian music, especially hymns, makes me feel the presence of God more than anything else does. I'm blessed when I hear the words and the music. God bless the songwriters and musicians who deliver these blessings. I'm holding on to the hymnal too, Cindy! Love to you all! :D OH!! One more thing...my husband and I get to see you in Branson this Saturday night, Mark! I'm so happy!!

    I’m thankful I stumbled on these vids guys. I’m couch bound for the next couple of months after surgery and these shows have had me laughing, crying and everything in between.

    Listening to gospel music lightens the heart and allows the pathway to God to open up fully and allow hearts to connect. It is when we can just let go and share the love in our hearts with the creator of everything. I understand why Paul and Silas sang in the jail cell, because it is that connection to God no matter what circumstances you might be in at the time, Thanks Mark and Andrew for touching on this topic and letting people know they there is a personal and freedom found in singing to the Lord Almighty.

    I share with Mark the thought that hymns more easily on my mind verses modern songs. I think there is a power in the hymns that allow them to travel and carry on that new songs not so much.

    Thanks for this video. I think music is the thing that moves me most, the melody and lyrics go straight to my heart. Like Andrew said you don't have to know a lot about it to enjoy and appreciate it, old and new.

    A great program of music and conversation. Well done. Buddy made a comment to the effect that how does one know what goodness is without God. Well, as an atheist, I would point out that goodness has existed down through the centuries in cultures and societies who have never heard of the Christian God.

      Doesn't mean he wasn't the author of that goodness, though. They didn't understand the wind either; can't see it, touch it or feel it, but surely felt the effects of it.

      The Bible says God put the knowledge of good and evil in every human heart. They don't have to know him, just choose which path they are going to follow.

      There are many books purporting to be divinely authored or inspired but they betray themselves with their internal inconsistencies. I await a direct personal message from a god.

    I agree with Cindy Morgan. There's no substance to the praise and worship or contemporary Christian music today. The old hymns are what sustain you through the difficult times like Mark said.

    • @jamesverner2039
      @jamesverner2039 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rachael! I just wish someone like you would get hold of the contemporary church music leaders and shake them up a bit. We need SUBSTANCE to our worship songs, and the old-time songs give us just that!

    • @rachaelmelton82
      @rachaelmelton82 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Verner I agree with you. I'm in the demographic that today's contemporary music and Church are use to reach them and I don't like it. I want to go to church on Sunday morning not a concert. I've talked to a couple of people around my age and they feel the same way.

    Ron Block is right. We are no longer dirty. We have been washed, we have been cleaned. We stand in righteousness because of what Jesus has done. His resurrection brought about our justification.

    Great conversation and music! From a visual, I think that every shot of Mark is from the side. You may need another camera or positioning. It is a TV production and would connect with people when the guests and hosts connect with the audience by looking and talking into the camera.

      Good eye, Paul! This was one of the first episodes that we ever filmed. You'll notice how we evolved in several of our Season One episodes and now have cameras on each person, including this one with Sandi: th-cam.com/video/YVilq1cv84Y/w-d-xo.html
