The sonicare buzzing tells you when you’re pressing too hard when brushing, not an indication that you need to replace your brush

I'm not sure how big your business is on TH-cam, but you can get into some serious trouble with the FTC if you don't disclose this information yourself.
I recommend updating your descriptions, at the very least. However, mentioning it in the video itself is best practice.

Great comparison! I was comparing both types too, it's worth mentioning that the study you referred is affiliated with PG and is dated from 2013. We don't know if they used a cheap sonic versus their top of the line model.

Thank you ☺️. That's a good point we don't know if they use their cheap model but I don't know if it would make a difference or at least not to me I definitely like the smaller head and I like how the Oral-B feels like it's actually scrubbing your teeth versus something vibrating on your teeth 👍🏻

Is the Oral B just electric or is it ultrasonic? And how does it oscillate? Oscillating is when a fan turns to the left and the right.

Hi Katherine, it's not ultrasonic, it does vibrate, in the head goes left and then it goes right really fast, and when you're brushing your teeth you can feel it getting in there and just going to town. I use the sonicare for years and my teeth definitely feel so much cleaner with the Oral-B.

Many dental sites say that the oscillating one is better than the sonic BUT (i) this is based on a 2013 study (ii) the quoted figures are only about 5% difference and (3) the numbers in the study was small! But a recent 2021 study showed the sonic to be superior to oscillating in some instances (e.g. gingivitis and bleeding gums) - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7915098/ - unfortunately, small numbers yet again! I wish these dental studies would engage 1000s of individuals like medical research does rather than 90 individuals or so (would mean greater reliability of the results).
A lot of people think oscillating must be better because surely the physical action means they "scrub" teeth better. But those who understand physics, will understand that sonic heads vibrate a heck of a lot more (sonic = 20-40 000 strokes per min; oscillating = 1-8000 strokes per min). And not only that, but sonic toothbrushes also employ the advantages of fluid dynamics - meaning such high vibrations create little vortexes with the water/saliva/toothpaste mix which then gets into areas beyond the bristles like deep into the gums.
So - I have a more definitive recommendation...
If you have peridontal disease, gingivitis or large teeth or if you're lazy and hate brushing - get the sonic one (I would recommend Philips Sonicare 9900). And I will reiterate the advice given in this great video - which is incredibly important - if you do get a sonic one, do NOT scrub. Just let the toothbrush do the work and glide it over. Not having to do scrub and simply allowing the toothbrush to glide may be something those of us who are lazy and don't particularly like brushing might just find that they dislike it a little less. I hope this helps some of you out there. xxx

Sure the sonic brushes have more strokes per minute but surely the stroke distance is shorter and direction is more linear than oscillating toothbrush, which might be able to remove more plaque if it can touch a greater surface area of tooth within a oscillation cycle?
