As someone whose mental and emotional health suffered during her quarter-life crisis five years ago and wasted some precious years as a neurotic mess, I now have a whole new perspective: you're (we're!) still so young! I'm going back to college at 30! It's never to late to reinvent yourself! Life is a journey, but it's not a race. You don't have to have the perfect life (whatever that is) in a neat little bow by 25, or 30, or 40. Just enjoy the ride, don't compare yourself to others, and live your best life!

I'm the same way with around the house clothes. If I leave the house, even if it's just to go to the grocery store, I am always dressed vintage with my hair done. But the second I get home I put on yoga pants and an oversized tee and remove all the bobby pins in my hair, I'm dedicated but not THAT dedicated. You are also totally right about dressing children vintage being unrealistic. With how fast they grow through/destroy clothes it's just not practical. I like using vintage patterns to sew my daughter dresses, though honestly childrens dresses haven't changed that much and you usually wouldn't even know it was made with a vintage pattern cause it looks like something you could buy now!

Hah, people always expect that my kids will be dressed vintage too but... yep, kids are messy. I do have some vintage clothes for my 2 year old daughter, but they're all from Goodwill so I don't feel bad if she messes them up. It was fun getting to know more about you! i didn’t find my current career until i was in my early to mid 30s. i was in sales, then went to college and got my BA in psychology, then became a middle-school math teacher. yeah, random, i know. but then one day i was just lying there and said to my sister “you know... i think i really want to be a nurse.” next thing i know i’m enrolling in school for pre-reqs and applying to nursing school. i’m now 45 and have been an RN for 7 years and i *love* it. it’s truly what i was meant to do with my life, and like i said i didn’t even think about it until i was in my 30s. so y’all don’t stress too much if you don’t know yet what you want, or haven’t found that dream job. it’ll come to you, i promise 💜

I love your explanation of being a "costume designer" . I sew and that's how I feel when I make my oufits and I love telling stories with my outfits whether they be cosplay or just a skirt. I actually use all vintage zippers in my outfits which adds to the story of the thing I make.

Oh, lovely Q&A! Love your wedding pictures and your house (now you really have to to do a house tour!) It's so nice that you get to live in your grandmas house, given your aesthetic preferences. It must feel much more authentic than trying to make this style work in a modern building. I live in a pre-war appartment building and at first I tried my (back then) rather modern taste in furniture on it...didn't work at all. It is possible (I've seen people do it successfully) but it takes more creativity (and money) than I have 😁.
That being a visual person, you mentioned? I don't have that gift at all...and it annoys me so much. I have to take pictures of everything and carry swatches around and stuff. And even then I'll often have to return stuff. Argh.
I would love a style evolution video, btw. Not just of you, but of the house as well. What you changed, what you kept around...if that isn't to personal. I realise it must feel weird to let strangers so far into your personal space..so don't feel pressured please! I do need to know what's up with that picture in the background...is that a sceleton...with...a walking stick? Makes me miss Dr. House 😁

I came to think about two things during the video that might strike your fancy. The first one is a period drama from BBC called North and South (2004). It's set in 1850s England and explores the differences between the countryside and an industrial town. The second recommendation is a podcast called "Hardcore History" with Dan Carlin, a different and interesting take on history. Love your channel, keep up the good work!

I'm so happy you answered the "tips on dressing vintage in highschool" question because I have loved vintage clothing since 7th grade (I'm 16 now lol) and I have some 50s dresses and I really want to wear them to school but I'm so self conscious about it considering I go to a very small school and I'm also a cheerleader and I wish we could wear some of the vintage uniforms instead of the tight spandex ones we have now😂😂 my favorite era is the 50s and the clothing from that time really seems so much better than modern clothing to me.😂😂😂💕💕💕

I love all these forest greens and maroons and huuuuges roses, so I’m so happy with autumn and winter 2017 in the UK right now cuz this style is EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I met through my friend too because they worked together. My friend started having board games nights and invited my not yet boyfriend. As soon as I saw him I knew I was in trouble. Stalked his Facebook as well. On games nights I found reasons to pass him things and of course gave him the subtle touch of our fingers on the pass lol. We admitted we liked each other at new years that year. He also rocked up wearing things that I had complimented him on when previously worn. Had some dates and we will be 5 years together in January 2022.
My friend also mentioned after a few months or I think a year into the relationship that when he started talking to my boyfriend more (because he was new to the job) his thought process was, "Steph would love this guy." And so he set me up which was nice
