I am glad that I came across your site. I got a big buck yesterday and needed a recipe for ground venison. Thanks for your idea. I can't wait to try it Thanks again.
Eddie, I'm a retired corporate chef 28 years and I am making this recipe. Our freezer is full of venison and I needed a couple of new ways to prepare and now I got em. Rochelle like's casserole's and that looks like a good one. Thanks and God Bless. Mike
Morning bud , been a little under the weather myself, but getting back to normal, cup of coffee and a good video from my friend, that sure looks good, thanks Eddie, !
I come from the south west of England, UK, was looking for a cottage pie type recipe for the venison i have, i love this recipe and your fantastic accent! I'll recreate it as well as I can with what i can buy over here, thank you! Funnily enough I have the exact same white and blue dish you use!
Did you just say "light" bread? We grew up calling it that and i went to work in the plants and they heard me say that and they thought I was crazy. So we read all over the bag and I never did find it on there anywhere. Glad to see somebody else calling it that lol
Yes sir, I do. I have a freezer FULL. My husband is at elk camp this weekend so if you have ANY elk recipes, I’m DESPERATE. Thank you, sir ❤ (P.S. I love the flannel jammie pants…I like to cook concoctions wearing flannel too)
I’ll be dipped. I got a bunch new I need to throw in the freezer and got to rid myself of the older and now I got something new to try. Appreciate it brother. I bet that mixture would be good on some plain bread kind of like SOS.
Hello Ms. Ashlyn and thanks for dropping in. I live in the Northeast corner of Louisiana about 10 miles from the Ark. line and about 15 miles from the Mississippi river. Oak Grove. Where abouts in Ark. you from, if I may ask?

Terrific idea. I love recipes like that where you can swap out ingredients. Thank you!!

The difference between this and Shepherds Pie, is a layer of corn, and a layer of cheese.
Going to make some now.
Let me know what you think.
So awesome, thank you

Hello Mr. Alan, Did you like it?
@@papawsplace Yes, very delicious. Even had my mother eating it and she doesn't eat venison!
👍
Looks amazing I'm on a budget this week and I have some deer from last season left. I'm gonna go ahead and try me this!
Let me know how you like it Austin. As with any recipe you can add things to make it you own.
@@papawsplace just finished eating my first plate and oh my! This recipe will definitely follow me for the rest of my life! Thank you!

We are doing lots better. Thanks Ms. Jan

Enjoyed it bud, thanks
Thank You Southernedge.
Sure looks good. Reminds me of a shepherds pie growing up. I imagine if you wanted to you could even add in a veggie like corn, green beans or peas.
Yes, I have added corn or green beans is with it.
Would love some suggestions on how to remove the gamy flavor from an already processed deer. Grandkids are not fond of this flavor.
Soak the meat in ice water over night.
Also, you can add a little salt to the ice water.
Great vid. Just put mine in the oven.
Thank you, Let me know if you like it.
"in my jammy pants". hahahaha
LOL
Dang Eddie that sure looks good maybe we could get together and go doe hunting someday
May I ask where you're from Randy?
@@papawsplace I’m from good ole NC I’m about crippled up from years of plumbing and putting in septic tank systems but I still love to hunt and fish
Then you know what I mean, by them Doe are better eating than Bucks. LOL
So basically trailer park shepherd's pie??
Not sure
The only way I can eat venison, is to cover up the flavor with beef and pork flavors 🥴
That's why I like eating the Does and Yearlings.
I don't like the buck meat, it's to strong.
Seasoning sucks
It ruins the venison flavor
All I can say is don't put any seasonings on your venison then. 😉
