Love that you first gave credit where credit was due. I had watched that other kids channel and he’s has made some great progress. I like where you took it.
Great video peter keep up the good work! I think it could be more stable if the aircraft exited tail first. If not, its like taking off in a huge tail wind.
I knew it! I found Eternal Progression recently and watched his folding plane videos, and i had a feeling you saw it too. Youll definitely give him a boost, which he definitely deserves!
When you can't decide between cargo plane and origami... just make a foldable plane. 😂 Also, that plane's motto: 'I may not glide, but I sure can Dive!' ✈🤣
Eternal Progression's videos were definitely inspirational, he's got a lot of talent for a young man! Excited to see what else he does. And cool video Peter.
PETER, HEAR ME OUT! hydro foil kayak with a long shaft outboard engine. XXtra long foils with adjustable trim tabs (elevators) SO YOU CAN ''FLY IT'' ON THE WATER IN THEORY.
Cool video!! Love the design 2.1. You had to line the inside of the plane. Parachute men get caught inside the plane and can take out that plane. (We had a severe crash)
I can see some areas for improvement... But this is definitely a really cool design! I'd put a lightweight servo in (like the EMAX ES9051) for some sort of aileron control as well as a little wooden pin that could be pulled out somehow after it's deployed (less likely to get stuck). That adds about 6-8 grams though, so there's that to consider.
Back in the day the Punjet felt like the most high tech thing. Now all these years later Peter drop kicked himself from the past with something way more awesome at an even smaller scale.
Hahaha quite literally did the same sequence. The air powered plane by Stanton is impressive, but this is also really cool! Amazing to see how far 3D printing has progressed.
That is some flat geography you got there. Beautiful afternoon for a flight, and excellent footage from multiple vehicles. chase drone, big model, little model, cargo door, ejection sled, you had all the angles covered.
Hell yeah! It would be cool to make an RC Razer Crest or Mando's N1. The N1 looks a lot more aerodynamic but making the Honda Space Odyssey actually fly would be sick
I could see the N1 being possible, the Center of lift vs mass would be an issue, but a little turbo fan in the outer cowling where the real engines are, fatten up the wings a bit to give an airfoil, might need some sort of vertical stabilizer unless you can gyro steer with the motors.
What controller board can you use for a plane with these small motors? I have one built from a mini helicopter board that also has two tiny servos. Don't know where I got the idea, might be flite test. But the problem with that is I don't remember the name of the board and you had to destroy the gyro on it so it doesn't do auto-throttle based on the tilt and I remember that being a gamble whether it destroys the board or not.
The majesty of nature, the process of birthing a new airplane is always a magnificent sight to behold. I'm always surprised by how they're able to fly right out of the womb.
such a nice video, i would love to see what would happed if you and Danel from RC Test FLight where in the same room I imagine their would be some kind of crazzy project unleashed upon this world.
To make such a small foldable plane is really amazing! Did a good job! Side note: Why did he include the flag? It didn't really add anything to the video?
Cool to see you shout out @EternalProgression. Just recently stumbled across his channel a few months ago and he’s made some pretty cool projects aswell, really enjoy watching videos from people like y’all!
Really well-produced video, having all the simultaneous camera angles really adds to the excitement and overall polished feel. Great stuff! Love to see all the iterations and failures before an idea really comes together and works.
Peter i always love your videos I bought your T-shirt with that cool artwork of the octopus it’s my favorite T-shirt from your team member and some stickers. Love it all. Thanks for all of the hard work!
Sounds like you will not further develop this project, but just an idea: i would propose tuning the "cargo" arround inside the carrier so both planes are facing the same direction. In the current configuration, with the "cargo" facing backwards, at the moment of drop the it has definitively negative airspeed, thus no lift. Even though the parachute will reduce the air speed significantly below the speed of the carrier when the "cargo" would be turned arround, you will at least have a little positive airspeed when dropping from the cargo bay.
Somebody's probably already mentioned this: rather a wing-lift design for your folding drone deployment, would it be possible to do a quadcopter? So then you get the longer range of the fixed-wing "parent" plane, and deploy the quad and get the different flight envelope of the quad and all that that implies for things like loiter time and whatnot. IDK I don't fly these things, I got no idea.
Hello I want to build a rc plane and the final version of the foldable plane was very interesting. Did you build it by how you made the rc paperplane from a drone. if you did please make a tutorial of a unfoldable version pleasseeeeee.
Don't go crazy over LW-PLA stringing. it will always be there no matter what you do. I'm currently designing an ai plane with geographic mappign and balistic computer for a personal project, and I'm in love with LW-PLA. You have to be carefull with it in the sun though, so If you buy the darker colors, spray paint in light grey or some light color so it absorbs less heat.
alternate design idea: 3(+) foil box-kite design that telescopes into it's long configuration upon opening the bay. the spring loaded keel opening to full length would shoot it out of the bay (no parachute needed, though a thrust plate inside the bay may be needed) and housing everything in the central 'box' should keep your balance self-righting-ly centered, with one prop pulling and situated between the leading box-foil and the central, while the other would be blowing/pushing through the final box-foil, similarly situated between it and the central one, for a front-to-back mirrored configuration.
An experiment for the future. Barns Wallis designed an aircraft that didn't have ailerons or spoilers, it rotated a wing backwards to produce less lift and initiate a roll. Could be a project for the future.
if you attach the parachute directly to the plane with a release mechanism then if something goes wrong you just don't release it so it hopefully doesn't crash with too much force edit: if you keep the skid with its parachute and attach the radio controlled release mechanism like a servo or something on it instead you only need to add a hole or hook to the actual plane
I’d love to see an evolution of the child plane with servos to toggle the wings and elevators folding, and some landing gear. Maybe then you could ditch the sled and have the child plane roll out of the cargo bay and unfold it’s wings after entering the air!
What flight controller are you using to power that ultramicro plane? Would love to use that for some projects I want to do but never found a good way to power the small brushed motors I want to use
I tried air dropping cargo with the Mini Guinea (great plane BTW) years ago and kept running into issues of the sled getting caught and the drogue chute causing flight instability or the CG shifting around in flight if the sled was able to move more freely.
I made the absolute most durable nose for foam board gliders .. eva foam sheets with adhesive already on them . Equals bumper pads basically.. I have hit the ground, road and everything else and nose looks like zero wear . Will last forever with tons of abuse.. please hear me peter . The community needs this concept of mine .
I love that we're back to the roots; rc plane experiments lol. So cool

Hey that’s me!! So cool, thx Peter!
Dude your stuff is awesome
Yeah your vids are awesome
It was Hovering also stalling
I love your channel you are so inspiring i got in to FPV because of you and am now a really god FPV pilot thx
Yeah he should be
The wonders of nature, seeing a pregnant plane giving birth 😊
1st baby was aborted. Then the mom died shortly after giving birth to the 2nd. Nature is a cruel beast.
1st baby was aborted. Then the mom died shortly after giving birth to the 2nd. Nature is a cruel beast.
What happened to the 1st baby? Also the mom didn't survive the 2nd birth.
then wtf is peter doing the reverse maybe unbirthing?!
hot@@VINCE-pp3es
Wow, I didn't think the final version would work that well and often
Peter you are a talented inventor and pilot you can make pretty much anything fly
Il bet he couldn't make an anvil fly
An anvil
I bet he could
dont say that he will make a rc pack for one of ther dogs

Cool video!! Love the design 2.1. You had to line the inside of the plane. Parachute men get caught inside the plane and can take out that plane. (We had a severe crash)

That second folding plane blew my mind when you first showed it. What a beautiful piece of engineering

I love LW-PLA. That second protype flew amazing!
i love that at 14:35 im ptty sure that plane just hit the ground cut the clips are the first plane flying then it when it lands and its the 2nd one
You know, that chute sled system reminds me of the one for the MOAB, you should make a firework version!

Super cool how the cargo plane flies just like a C-130, the aerial performance of the two is virtually indistinguishable
Now I kinda want to see Peter launch a scale model of the Bell X1 from this.
Or a x15

The chute + sled is just like the USAF dropping a Minuteman I ICBM out the cargo door of a C-5 Galaxy.
Great video Peter. Gen1 reminded me of a folding version Glytch made years back. Really fun watch. Cheers
such a nice video, i would love to see what would happed if you and Danel from RC Test FLight where in the same room I imagine their would be some kind of crazzy project unleashed upon this world.

1:06 What do you mean 2.5" is small? I think it's a pretty average sized cargo bay.
Uhh
Great work! Can we get access to the second plane with the quad wings? I would love to play with that design.
An experiment for the future. Barns Wallis designed an aircraft that didn't have ailerons or spoilers, it rotated a wing backwards to produce less lift and initiate a roll. Could be a project for the future.

It's like that WWII era soviet aircraft carrier airplane (Zveno project). Very cool!
I love you videos and you inspired me to get a RC F-22 Raptor love your videos please keep it up
Beautiful footage of a wild RC plane giving birth ❤
Now we need to see a hauler plane for the cargo plane. How many layers of Russian Nesting doll RC aircraft can you go?

Love it!! Missed you lately on here.

Could you tell me which parts you used for the final folding plane?
and whats up with your planes? do you mind making another models? or upgrading old ones?
Thanks Peter, always creative, always inspiring!
Am I the only person that's been watching Peter for probably 5 years now and just realized that he used to work for flight test?
This is what I've been waiting for, finally after a long time uploading another video😅

Excellent flight of rc Plane keep it up Thank You
That final design of the folding plane just looks like the AeroVironment RQ-11 Raven, just without the camera and other military grade tech installed
What flight controller are you using to power that ultramicro plane? Would love to use that for some projects I want to do but never found a good way to power the small brushed motors I want to use

it not a peter video without something is not working but then it just works.
Great you have made switchblade 300, just need to add some launching mortair-tube
the shot of the cargo flyover after the secondary plane landed was sick
Very cool! I'd love to see you cram this thing inside the fairing of a rocket and deploy it from really high up that way
Congratulations!! Well done!!
I remember watching you 6years ago glad to see you make video like an old one
Go into full production, there could be a use for them in a sandy place right now.
What an incredible video Peter! Next time make a huge plane where the bottom of the airfoil opens bomb-bay style and these drop from between the ribs!
