We thoroughly enjoyed your video. My wife and I have been frequent riders of the Hayabusa to Hakodate, spending time at major stops along the way between Ueno and its final destination.
Awesome trip report, and excellent video quality, too. Always a pleasure to see your videos, sir! Of course, with the U.S.A. being so much larger than Japan, a HSR network would be a much greater challenge - and there is movement in that direction - but "as-is" it really puts Amtrak to shame. I'm in Ft. Worth, so ardently watching the progress of Texas Central, which of course will utilize Shinkansen tech.
Excellent video! I finally realised why it’s called GranClass, or what I thought was Grand Class. I just couldn’t figure out what it had to do with the Green Car. Green Gran Of course.
Hey, guess what? I have amazing news but at the same time also sad Amtrak combined Two old routes The capital limited and the sliver star to create the new and improved Floridian train between Chicago, Illinois and Miami, Florida via Washington DC
@@LonestarTrips Damn that explains it, Japan is a bit of a tough one for that. Hope you had a good time there. High speed trains leaving every few minutes is a sight to behold. We're planning another Japan trip and probably heading north this time so appreciate the video!
Hey Lonestar, you should take the Amtrak Floridian between Chicago and Miami. It really nice! They have Traditional Dining!
I certainly want to! While I know I missed the inaugural train yesterday, taking the Floridian is on my todo list for sure!
@ yep!
Amtrak new acleas needs to be this quiet 💯
That they do. But they also need them to be in service at all.
@@LonestarTrips The new Acela's are like Toronto Line 5. Forever in testing and no sign of a date of completion/entering service
Nice video. I'm hoping to ride this exact service when I'm in Japan next summer.
Thanks! Enjoy Japan when you visit, it’s such a beautiful country. I loved visiting and will absolutely go back in the future.

Glad you enjoyed! I wish I had more time to enjoy the stops along to Tohoku Shinkansen, but that’s all the more reason to go back to Japan 🇯🇵
Would be amazing to have a train like this from New York to Miami.
It would be incredible. Hopefully the coming administration chooses to push for high speed rail in the US.
@@LonestarTripsSadly there is more chance of me winning the lottery. This is a loverly train and your video shows it in all its glory.

Green
Gran
Of course.
It’s a weird naming scheme, that’s for sure, but GranClass really is Gran.
Gran Class is like First Class on an airplane, and Green Car is like Business Class on an airplane.

Wait, you can insert both tickets together...?!
Yep! You’re actually supposed to! I’ve had gate lines refuse me after I only put one in by accident.
Hello
Hey there!
@@LonestarTrips hi, how are u mate
Train is faster than a cheetah 💯💯
No lie
That it is!
Not sure I'd get a western meal when in Japan.
I don’t like fish unfortunately. At least not yet.
