This video will cover the basics of the shrinkwrap modifier as well as it's more advanced settings and usecases.
Widely used for cars and product models, the shrinkwrap modifier will allow you to preserve surface quality while adding details, create precise offsets and cuts and many other things.

nice tutorial bro 👍
a prectical exemple step by step for any hard car part could be really nice to well implement the concept. ty for the lattice technique with the wiper also
Sounds good, thank you for the suggestion! Do you have any part in particular you would like to see modeled step by step?
master, I'm finally excited to see your work!
Yes bro, awesome content. Yes please explain in more detail how these operations are done. Can you show is how to use this to create full items? Keep up the grind man. You should have way more subs
Thanks man I appreciate it! What product would you like to see modeled in future videos?
Personally I would like to see motocross panels possibly if you get a chance. Is there any way you can show us the full process of making lets say a set of motocross body plastics like the new 2024 Husqvarna EE 5 or the 2024 Husqvarna EE 2.
What would be super awesome would be a full process of modelling the entire bike using these methods. Also I understand this would be time consuming to make but i would love to see this method being used in this way. I was mind blown when you dropped the first video as I literally was trying to solve an embossing using a boolean just last night funny enough. I think with your method this would be easier now. I just have to rewatch the video and try to work out my best method.
Also feel free to drop me a private message as i have an idea for you man. Maybe you already know exactly what your doing but honestly I think I have an idea of something that would help you personally while also helping the community. Now normally I dont write in the comments or generally do this but your video deserves the time for me to make these comments. You gained a sub and likes. Keep the creative juices flowing and keep up the grind. 💯@baril3d
Motocross panels sound fun! I will keep that in mind for a future video. For the entire bike I won't promise anything but who knows!
As for the idea you have feel free to message me on Behance, discord or say it here I am curious to hear it
Thanks for all the support!
@@baril3dget you on discord man
fire, keep em coming
Will do! Thanks for watching
awesome. thanks a lot for the follow-up
You’re welcome, thank you for taking the time to comment!!
Its amazing, can you make combo video - time lapse x tutorial ( car from a to z)
Sure thing! What would you like the tutorial portion of the video to be like? Is it just me talking over the Timelapse or does the Timelapse go back to normal speed where I explain for a few minutes before speeding up again?
Thanks for watching!
@@baril3d it could be done like this. the whole Timelapse video, but when the important part (for example, setting up modifiers or textures (where you need to look at the screen) here I would like to slow down. and then the acceleration continues. Thanks for the feedback
@@Hamster_CIS Awesome! I will keep that in mind I think this could be an interesting formula
Thank you so much, it was a great technique. I’m wandering how to assign different materials with the shrinkwrap modifier on? Wish for ur feedback. Thanks!
Hello! I am happy you learned something from this video. As for assigning materials I don’t think that using the shrinkwrap technique changes much regarding that. Simply select the faces you want to have a material and assign the one you want.
I may have misunderstood the question though so please let me know if that is the case!
very nice candaman
Thank you Askejmeme
Can you explain some modeling demos of car interiors, such as steering wheel, seats, etc. Thank you very much, master!
Sure thing that’s a good idea, I will keep that in mind for future videos, thanks a lot!
@@baril3d Thank you again for your wonderful sharing. Looking forward to seeing high-quality content next time
I have a question regarding rigging and opening doors that have the shrink wrap modifier to keep the clean surfacing of the targeted mesh. I’ve tried it in the past and it seems the get wonky if I try to open a car door that has the shrink wrap modifier on it. I’ve tried applying the modifier but I doesn’t seem to help. Is there any solution to this?
Hey! Good question, unfortunately when you are ready to open your car doors and you want the clean surfacing you will need to apply all modifiers above the shrinkwrap (except the mirror which you can leave there)
Then you will be able to animate your doors without issue
@@baril3d Nice! Just tried it out and it worked, much appreciated! Just gained a sub.
why don't you use lattice ?
You can use a lattice in certain scenarios but a lattice would not be very useful when you are modeling a complex object like a car body.
Now I am not saying the lattice has no use for certain parts such as windshield wipers or grilles but for the modeling itself I prefer to use the shrinkwrap and basemesh method
master, How is auto smooth added in modifier and what is its function?
Okay, it's my version that's too low and hasn't been updated
Glad you managed to find the answer! Yeah it newer Blender version autosmooth has been changed for a modifier
@@baril3d OK, The content of the explanation is very clear. I have completed the master's demo and learned a lot. Thank you again!
You guys waste so much time to come to the point just for the sake of algorithm.
Yeah I moved to autodesk alias. Its not possible to model a car in blender. Takes so much time.and unnecessary modifiers need to be applied.
@@shahidahmedbhuiyanevan Truth is, most of these advanced modeling techniques are really not necessary and just waste polygons without end. Also, it's perfectly possible to model a car in blender just as fast as in Autodesk
