    You've got the newer heavy duty switch, I have an older truck and an older Grand Cherokee and the plastic that holds the switch in place is extremely brittle and extremely thin so I don't dare look at it out of fear of the switch falling off the bracket. Also, it says on the switch that you are not allowed to reinstall it once removed. What a great way to get people into the dealer.

    I have the same problem with my MItsubishi Outlander Sport after a hard braking. Does alfa obd work with Mitsubishi? I suppose it doesn't. I bought the obdlink mx+ and wondering how could I solve this and what app to install to recalibrate the brake switch. Thanks

    Great video. Got the old out but I'm too big and old to get under and put the new one in. Lights and mirrors and letting my fingers do the walking aren't doing it. Any idea how to or where to look to figure out how to remove the panel under the steering wheel? I have a 2014 Ram Laramie limited.

      I did find and take out two screw at the bottom of the panel and that loosened thing up but still can't remove.

      I would try to recalibrate it first since there really isn’t much to this switch. If it still is giving issues after a recalibration then replace and repeat

    2015 Dodge Charger SRT in an accident. Brake lights stay on. Bought the ODBLink MX+ and installed AlfaOBD Demo (It will not calibrate, so you have to buy the regular version which is $50). Note that you can't go to accessory position since the car thinks you're pressing the brake so it starts (which is fine unless the car is still missing the radiator, etc). So, to avoid this, you can reach up to the switch and change the position so it thinks you're not pressing it.) Now in AlfaOBD (paid version) is would keep telling me the Brake Calibration failed. I could see the live data showing about 1.94v which appears was too high. Since the switch position isn't adjustable, I ended up slightly bending the metal peg from the brake pedal bar slightly towards the driver. This ran the voltage down to 1.54v. Reading live data during the process, I could see the original calibration was 1.75 (not far from the 1.94v that was too high). I then ran the brake calibration which set it at the new value of 1.54v and now everything works perfectly.

      ❤ hey! I know this is old but, how do you get or find the brake calibration? I got the paid version but I don't see nothing about brakes, calibration, etc. I have a 2017 Chrysler 300s V6.

      @@dwain415 Hello. It is in the ABS menu. So, connect to the ABS module. Active Diagnostics will have a drop down menu and you need to select "Brake Pedal Calibration" which is below ABS Bleed Brakes.

      @VoltageGoat Oh ok, thanks. I will download the app and try again. I never spend that much money on an app before. I am hoping it'd be worth it.

      @VoltageGoat 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dwain415 The dealership wanted $180 and I would have had to have the car towed to them. So, for me, it was absolutely worth the $50 for the program. And, I have used the device a lot since just for monitoring and reading codes. Good luck. :)

    Why isn't there much more information about this issue. I just replaced the hydro booster and the stop lights are on. Seems the pedal or the switch is the culprit. Witch which scanners is it possible to this procedure?
