Thank you JJ. I followed your instructions and changed the switch. Now I have the shifter working properly, my cruise control functions again and the traction control light is off. Your video is short and to the point. Thanks again. Greeting from St. Catharines, Canada.

I unplugged my break pedal position censor to see how it looks, when I put it back in my check engine light was gone and it hasn’t come back on. I’m gonna give it some time to see if anything happens before I get my emissions done again but if this really just worked that easy then I gotta thank you and give you props my man🔥 you deserve a subscriber after that lol.

In order to depress the brake pedal enough to insert the new part you must start the vehicle (engage the parking brake). That will allow you to depress the brake pedal far enough to align the new part in the hole and give it a quarter turn to seat it properly.
This is not a job for a big guy. It's a very tight fit even with the seat all the way back.

'09 Laramie C/C - I didn't have to move the pedal Just reached up, and it popped right in, by feel and touch, I was blind. Just cz I didn't feel like getting twisted, but there is a lot of room under my column. I can see and reach easily, all of the connectors, and components. Guess I am lucky? Lol, if you only knew... peace

Awesome! Thought it was an issue with my brakes! Happened to me about 6 months ago, luckily it was time for my brakes to be replaced. Just happened to me again today and I was thinking that this was too early for a new brake job.

    • @JJCentral-DIY

Looks like the circuit under the shifter is either disconnected or shorted out due to water damage. First check the fuses inside the cabin and inside the engine bay. Next disconnect the battery negative terminal and connect it back after 5 minutes. If you still don't see any changes, remove the shifter cover and undo the wiring plug that is connected to the shifter and shifter bulb. clean it and put it back.
