Logitech G935 & G-HUB Surround issue. What fixed it for me?

- Simple fix for G935 not showing up or grayed out, and/or not producing 7.1 drivers in the acoustics section. Let me make this clear. This fix might not work for everyone. This was a very strange issue to have along with what fixed it. I do not know the root cause, and neither did LOGITECH themselves. Neither did several techs I had spoken to about this. For what ever reason, this is what finally resolved this 1 issue for me. So for those of you it did not work for, I am truly sorry. Please do not give up.

Dude! This was an amazing simple fix. Spent hours trying to figure it out. Includes deleting the profiles, removing the software and downloading the new. All I had to do to fix both issues was insert the dongle into a 2.0 port. Voila! All is good. Thank you for sharing.

i bought a logitech G pro headset and i installed the LogitechG Hub software but it still says "connect your logitech g gear"

so i was going to work using the metro.. i tapped my card on the machine and proceeded to walk like i usually do. but for some reason the card did not register on the machine and because i expected the gate to open, *but it didnt* my headphones got ejected off my head. they fell 5 METERS AWAY
now of course, after all the people looked at me and i managed to successfully pass the gate, i checked the lights, the volume, the sound and i called my friend to check the mic.. everything seemed to be ok
when i got home, i tried the do the surround sound test but when the man says "tHiS iS tHe cEntEr cHaNnEl" it seems to be more to the left. what should i do?
I don't have any 2.0 USB ports but I moved my adapter from the rear to the front USB 3.0 slot and it recognized it right away. Thanks!
i have the logitech g pro x and when i use dts headphone x and have the logitech g hub app my mic makes a static sound? it has been fine and now recently its been doing this and theres nothing i can do to have the best sounding audio for this headset.
Hey man! I noticed you have spatial audio disabled. Does DTS x work if this is this off? I have been trying to enable dts x but spatial audio is fretted out and the dts software shows it is not enabled. Can’t find a fix. Thanks!

Hello, I’ve had both of these problems but they aren’t what being me to the hours of searching. My game clips sound very low, using amd relive. Last night I was doing some testing and found out that the audio of the game actually went up to normal levels when I removed the dongle for my 933’s. So after months of not knowing why, I finally zeroed in that something with the Logitech software was causing the audio to mess up. I went on AMD forum and someone said it was because the headset was in surround sound and the audio from the game doesn’t get the same processing in the recording like it does in the headsets, the solution was to turn the headset to stereo mode. The problem is, I can’t remember how to do that and if I remember correctly, it sounds like crap in the headphones. If there is any solution to fix this with maybe voicemeeter or other audio software, I’d appreciate the help. Thanks for your time and I like the video, you solved two of my problems out of the three.
my problem is the left side of my wireless logitech g935 (the side that has buttons) is defective, I can only hear audio on the right side. HELP

Has anybody had an issue with pulling your headset off the charger and all of a sudden the sound is terribly distorted and quiet? my bass is super low and its acting like the speakers may be blown. but that cant be the case bc sound is fine when i listen to other certain things. sound sounds like its underwater most of the time? Still happends. Even after many updates. Tested it just now and it just disconnects if you turn the mic off in the control panel.

I installed g hub, surroud on my 603 didn't work, so I took it down, and installed the old software and it worked again.
All sound go to the right Channel, surround and stereo. In left channel I can only hear noise. Any idea how I can fix it?

@@lordofpoor faulty headset. Got it changed under warranty twice. Secound time, because of faulty volume switch. The headset is very poor quality compared to the old D930 that I ve been using for 7 yaers with no issues.

i have a g635 and it didnt fix the issue. does anyone have a clue?
I had this problem: installed GHUB , connected the dongle, turned on the G935 and they worked great.
Turned off PC, turned off headphones, connect to usb to charge them up.
Came back, turned on PC, turned on G935 -> no sound from PC (but sound for max volume, mic mute, headphones connected etc)
Clicked troubleshoot in windows, nothing found, restarted PC -> sound works again, but every click on a G button counted twice
Closed and reopened GHUB -> G button fixed, but now whenever my volume is above 60 and i go to the surrond tab or play any sound from PC i hear a static background noise.
I've already tried to push the earpiece pin to hard reset them, checked that the echo slider is on lowest setting. nothing seems to help.

I just got the gpro x headphones and struggling to figure out how to fully eliminate the sound of my keys goin thru my mic when im talking to friends. my astros did it find so u think a blu logitech headset should do it too. lul
my problem isnt surround. my surround sound works fine but my equalizers are just broken. no changes at all to any of the audio

Itz Orestis I think I remember having this same issues very briefly as well. Try and make sure you do everything in this video. And Then un install the software, then before you restart you computer goto Program date file & temp folder and delete all they say LGHUB. Then restart your PC with your USB dongle in a 2.0 port. See if that helps
Every 13451345131232 owner of this piece of crap have the same issue as yours for YEARS. There is NO SOLUTION. The problem is in the software itself who need's to be reworked. But Logitech don't give a dam for his own softwares. The only thing we can possibly do is to uninstall and install the software again and if you need to restart your PC you are fucked as i am because you will need to do everything related to the software all over again every time.
Maybe things have changed since the making of this video, but it would appear that Logitech now supports USB 3.0 as my headset works flawlessly. I came on here, to see if this would fix the issue my buddy is having with not hearing footsteps in CODMW. He has the same headset. I will try your recommendations. Thanks for making this video.

Use them wired. A whole new world
Opened up to me when i plugged my 933’s and used em as wired. Pubg, CODMW, i had problems not hearing footsteps until i plugged em.
Conclusion: must find a better wireless headset

This is why I'm still using the old LGS software, it just works. I'm using the keyboard G910, mouse G502, and the headset G933. I have tried the G-hub a couple of times. Everytime it was audio issues, micro, and light sync... so if it's back to the old LGS software. if isn't broke don't fix it.
oh yeah the app works with the old LGS software.

@@fireman_17 that's because G935 drivers weren't designed to work with LGS. It's newer hardware. I have switched to G hub few weeks ago because of the new mouse I bought with the 16k sensor. It seems they worked the audio issues out. The 7.1 advance settings works now. And the app finally connects to the new software.

Zechariah Ahvon Make sure your Dongle is in a 2.0 USB . That is so important. They will not work right if not.

I had it plugged into 3.0 and my surround sound was ... not there (except when using windows 10 default drivers)

damn i have the exact same issue, but this didn't fix it. shortcut buttons on the headset stop working as soon as it connects to Ghub, if i unistall ghub headset works fine, but i have a mouse that needs ghub as well. big L for me. this was the only video i found where someone talks about the issue though

I did have a pair like that and the power slider was defective, try wiggling it around and see if it causes any changes if so then its broke. If not then I am not sure what that could be unless you sit right next to a MICROWAVE that is on all the time LOL
PickleNinja just saw this comment and i have about 3 walls between me and the microwave lol. i even unplug it when i play and it still has a crackling sound. i don’t have any printers or stuff like that in my house to interfere with it
omg the darn doggle thing really is what was messing with my sound the entire time. I switched the port to a 2.0 and works completely fine now. Omg! GRRR
Omg i cant believe this Shit. I just had to put my USB stick in an other slot FML. I was Confused AF. Like Why TF isnt my Volume Changing or why cant i enter Ghub anymore?

7.1 finally works . it works with G-Hub Sept 15 , 2020 release,
with G633 headphones.
was trying to Enable "Core Isolation" in windoes 10 settings .
it found 7 drivers All from Logitech 8.85 versions from the
8.96.88_x64 released in 2017 .
So , i uninstalled it . Core Isolation still would NOT turn On.
there is a One drver file that did not get removed during uninsatll.
LGVirHid.sys in folder : c:\windows\system32\drivers\
i manually deleted that file( windows was not using it anymore ).
Back in Settings , Core Isolation , Tuned On ! It works .
Then rebooted .
Next i installed G-Hub Sept 15 , 2020 release . And it worked !
this is the very first time G-Hub has worked for me with g633
headset . They fixed the volume leveling in the 7.1 and the
spatiality has been much improved .
Dolby Audio surround , sounds really nice ( Movie Mode ) for game audio .
( why does it take 4 years ) ? to get it right .
This release works . turned OFF auto update .
ya never know what's gonna happen .

G633 had Stereo only and after reboot . No headset hardware could be found by windows from Logitech .
But ,
driver 8.96.88_x64 .exe from oct 26 , 2017 works just fine on w10 .
( windows Audio Control Panel shows 7.1 speakers to windows )
Logitech has All previous versions on their website .
G_HUB has Never worked properly with G633 headset , since G_HUB was released .
what you said . even logitech mouse drivers( software ) has been mostly useless .
while Logitech hardware mice have always been excellent .
For g633 use logitech gaming software and you could use dolby sorround ;)

and g633 worked good , But
then i found out about "Core Isolation" in windows settings ( windows 10 ) . Core Isolation would NOT enable
because those 2017 Logitech drivers are NOT qualtified with windows 10 , anymore . So , un-installed
LGS_8_96_88_x64_Logitech.exe and put the G-HUB on , and Core Isolation also Enables now .
Core Isolation is one way to find out if the machine has windows 10 qualified\certified drivers installed ,
and NOT just for Logitech .

Especially when Core Islolation says the dirvers are NOT of a secure nature with windows 10 .
My first G-HUB install , ( been a while ago ) did not work , so i gave up on G-HUB for a long , long time .
but now , G-HUB is working here with the 2020 september release . DTS 7.1 , Dolby 7.1 it all works . The mic works better too .
and windows has another 3 gig update .

Just bought the G635, the software doesn't even open. I've read like 200 "fix/solutions" and still, not working. Software is trash, and btw the sound is horrible, I really was expecting an upgrade from my 2015 Razer Kraken... Not the case.

Not sure what you are listening to bud, but they are far from the same...The G935’s are not the wireless version of those. And if you are saying these suck, then you might have some settings wrong. Cause I have compared these to some top end 7.1 headsets and these shine better every time & I make music with these.

You're wrong. G935 is the wireless version of G635 and you can just know it by googling "G935 vs G635", same drivers, same everything, the only thing that changes is the G935 adds 73ms latency because it's wireless and G635 is a bit louder (just 0.25dB more than the wireless), I guess this is because the faux leather cup in the G935.
I've bought and tested more than 100 headsets.
Logitech was the first brand that released a wireless headset that "could work for gamers", but there are absolutely ZERO professional gamers that would choose a wireless headset over a wired headset, because of the latencies are obviously a disadvantage (72ms is an insane amount for a professional gamer).
G635/G935 sound quality is really crap compared to a classic standard gaming headset like Razer Kraken, and I'm not even comparing with Sennheiser or Sony, which would be crazy to do.
If you only want to listen some music you don't buy a 7.1 surround headset designed for gaming. This are NOT even close to "good quality".
Here's a comparison review I've just found:
The Logitech G935 Wireless Gaming Headset and Logitech G635 Gaming Headset are practically the same headphones, but the G935 are wireless while the G635 are wired. You get the same design and fit on both headsets, but the G935 have faux leather cup padding and the G635 have a mesh-like fabric. If you want the freedom of a wireless headset, go with the G935, but if you don’t want to manage battery life, the G635 will be a better option. There’s also a difference in the microphone recording quality and by listening to playback, we hear the G635 microphone as better even if it scores lower.
I had to uninstall G Hub altogether now it works fine. But still i am not happy that it doesn't work with G Hub
if u 'd want my advice stay away from logitech headsets...
i have the logitech g933 and i want to throw them through the window... While i'm listening some music randomly they disconnect and reconnect... some say this happens because the headset appears to use same the frequency with wifi 2.4Ghz...
i tried most of the channels of my router but the problem persists... if i find a solution i'll come back for an update
happens with me, been 1 year and a couple of months using my g933. my case it had to do with 100% disk usage. so always when i install a new game from steam for example, headset reconnects.
Same......usb 2.0 worked for surround. This is seriously a stupid logitech usb 3.0 driver issue.
3 years later and this USB 3.0 is still a thing.😬

THIS HEAD SET SUCKS!!!!!! you need the usb dongle! there is no way to use it with just usb... so for my laptop to use the headphones and change them it requires 2 usb ports which i cant do on my laptop... so stupid.. what a flaw!

Before, I had the issue where the surround sound TEST wouldn't actually work.
The dongle is always in a USB 2 port, so that wasn't the issue there.
The mic was never disabled as I would use that to talk through our security cameras, like when our lil doggie is going nuts in the back yard. LOL I could talk to him via the security camera that is out ther.e
Updating HUB did not work, IN FACT, I discovered that it was the HUB updates that were the problem.
I uninstalled the update and went back to an older version, 2021.3.9205. That just works, no issues.
So over the years, I would allow the HUB to update, just to see if Logi fixed thing! ROFL oh how we retain hope that MAYBE ONE DAY Logi will actually fix things.... LOL
But nope, ANY update killed the Surround TEST. I emphasize TEST, because while the test would just sit there and do nothing when clicked, surround on the headset still worked fine when I tested it with a 5.1 Surround test file. I later found a 7.1 test file and that worked too.
So for me, it's not that surround didn't work, only that the TEST function on the HUB did not work.
I just gave up and still keep that older version going. I just don't allow the HUB to update anymore.
Of course, like probably everyone else out there with this headset, the power button is all screwy as is the volume control. Sadly, it's not a potentiometer, which is easy to clean/fix. This is a decoder which can be difficult to fix or even crumble under the attempt. I just use Windows' Volume Mixer to control the volume on the headset.
But TODAY.... TODAY is the day that I fix the power switch (that's an easy fix) and see if the volume decoder is fixable and if not, if it's possible to find a decoder that would work. I have a few different types of decoders in the lab, so MAYBE one will just fit.... LOL again... that spooky hope thing rears its ugly head.

Update to my own comment.
So, for the old G935, there was no way to fix the power switch.
So I went out and bought a new G935. I chose the same model, because there doesn't seem to be any other model that has programmable buttons, which I use.
So I uninstalled the G935 drivers (but not remove total from Windows).
I set up the new G935, but did NOT update G Hub as this one has the Test Surround Sound working.
Well... IT DID HAVE!!!! With the new headset and nothing more, now clicking the test doesn't work again.
USB2, mic enabled... nothing different. But something must be different to cause this.
SOOOO ANNOYING!
Its not just G935, the problem is there with the G431 also and I am sure there are other headsets having same problem.
Even I have done hell lot of troubleshooting and FYi the USB is connected to 2.0 and it still shows "not connected" and man, I give up. I made a mistake purchasing this product from logitech. I have always been logitech fan and was disappointed to have wasted $65 on this piece of shit

Hey i got this issue. Just uninstall all G933 driver from your device manager. Then un-plug and plugin your USB receiver.
That is just a temp fix. But if that worked for you then awesome.
