Thank you for a superb, in-depth and pragmatic approach to setting up the A7RV. Not only highly informative, but down-to-earth. This is definitely going to be filed as a go-to reference manual. Thanks again.
Thank you sir; this camera guide has been very informative and applicable, huge effort to bring this to publication and the production quality shows that you enjoy this medium. Again, thank you for this tutorial.
Thank you for an exhaustive look at the Sony A7RV. Currently shooting a Canon R with a couple of EF lens. I love the color I am able to get. Don't like that I seem to have to bracket everything to get those results. The 20-70 lens has me intrigued as well. Subscribed.
I shot the with that sensor in both the 5d4 and EOS R. I can tell you that the Canon r5 is significantly better in both dynamic range and color science. Not quite where the a7rv is but close.
Thanks for the video. It’s full of great information. It looks like you are using the V90 memory cards. Are those necessary for landscape photography of will the V60 suffice?
Excellent video! However, in the last mode, the Setup mode, my menus don't match yours! What is happening? Any tips or suggestions? Thank you! I am a landscape photography nut! This is the camera for me! I use a Sigma 24-70 2.8
If shooting RAW turn off D-Range Optimizer for the rear screen is affected by it (jpeg image) but what you get will be different and mainly your histagrame will be off and not correct. The SmallRig camera bracket is the Best! Put Bright Monitoring on Trash Can easy to find in the dark!
When you are taking picture of such contrasting lights and shadows, what metering do you use? Multi or spot into the light? Hopefully my question makes sense.
I rely on the histogram for situations like that. Basically I make sure I don’t clip the highlights but generally expose a little more to the right side of the histogram. I don’t switch out of multi very often at all (I don’t think I have ever changed it on the a7rv)
When I tried to do the recall memory 2 for the AEL button I didn't get the same options as you. How do I setup the recall memory so that I get the boxes not the entire settings again?
Have you found a good L bracket for the Alpha 7RV that allows full movement of the flippy screen? After reading some reviews of the hinged small rig bracket I am not convinced that is rigid and robust enough. What are you using?
Its the small rig bracket. its certainly robust enough but not allow full articulation. Really right stuff makes one but it is absurdly expensive. honesty the rotating collar from small rig is a great solution. Its a little cumbersome while hand holding but offers the best tripod shooting experience you can get
I’ve been using the smallrig but found switching from landscape to portrait orientation to be annoying. Recently, I put a PD plate on the bottom and that allows me to rotate without having to flip the L bracket arm. Also allows me to use the capture clip.
Hey.i have Sony A7r5 and I am going to Himachal spiti which is coldest place in India. Is it alright to shoot with the camera. Is there any chances of fungus or moisture?
A7r5 is the best camera in the market even flagship like Sony a1 not as good as r5! I owned a1 just sold out few days ago and keep r5. Overall the files of raw is just blowing quality of the colours, WB sharpness it’s just amazing. I think this is a the best job Sony did so far. There is no point between 24-50mp. I think you you want to decide so just take 24mp camera or 60mp like r5. A1 is fast but the files is not worse it the price.l! Especially when I compare in to ISO I was surprised how r5 handle with it a1 it’s just disappointed me. Video: yes a1 great on it. Most of the time my a1 was in the bag. r5 easier to use, amazing display, autofocus better then a1 files 200% better then a1. I hope my comment will help you anyone who still didn’t decided.
Too long for just one video, you need to divide this video (1-How to take picture, 2-the camera and settings, 3-pictures post-processing, 4-accesories) in three or four videos. No matter how good the info, the video is too long. People want short fast quality info, no your life in one 2 hour video.
Bought my A7RV and I’m eager to learn from this channel. You earned a subscriber!
It was long but worth it. Thank you and I will continue to watch you. One of the best guides to for the 7RV
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching we have more a7rv content coming soon!

I appreciate how you limit this to landscape-focused settings, and include accessories.

Again, thank you for this tutorial.
Can you put a link for the tripod head pls.
Thank you. I have this camera since last december. I had to reset it and go through setup again. This was very useful video.
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped!

For landscape v60 will suffice. It’s more important that you get something reliable. Prograde has never let me down.

Kemper: Where did you get that lanyard that you use on the remote? I have been looking for something like that.
A company called Tuenne!

Have you tried using the HIGHLIGHT exposure option?
I do agree with not needing the memory 1, 2, 3 setting.

Look up the specs🎉
What L bracket are you using? Thanks
It’s the SmallRig Rotatable Horizontal-to-Vertical Mount Plate Kit. It’s kinda like a lens collar
The multi port is for wired remotes etc.
thanks!
What tripod are u using?

Some good information, but so long… I got about half way before I couldn’t concentrate any longer
Well I appreciate you watching at all

It's like a diary.
@@ggivensjr Boring, bad idea.
Good video, but the button coverage would have been done in the studio with better lighting.
