We are Lederhosers from Canada, only discovered Bavaria a few years ago and we are HOOKED. Your speed is exactly what we love. Thanks for all your videos! We’re coming back probably next year and we’ll definitely be hitting you up for a facetime consult. 👍
Fall hikes, some of the best. This video is exactly what we like to do on our travels. Used your Mittenwald and Salzburg videos to plan and enjoy our visit to Germany in August for 3 weeks. Hey, we used most of your playlist from Bavaria! Keep up the excellent content and you do deserve to have at least 100K subscribers or more.
Cool castle. Strange, I didn't know about it. Since I'm also living in Munich for 5 years and hike pretty often. I can suggest you another magical place: Ahornboden. This is in Tirol Austria, but it is just 150km from Munich. Now it is a bit too late to go there. Usually people visit it in mid of October.
One of my favorite videos of yours! One question though. Why do you keep doing my childhood? I've probably been up Petersberg five times or so growing up on volksmarches. Makes me want to get right back on a plane and go home again (it's not like my daughter keeps pushing me to do so anyway). Thanks again!
Really enjoyed that video. I lived in Waltrudering (East of Munich) as a kid in 1970-75. I remember early Fall hikes were my favorites and now I really enjoy the area around Schliersee followed by a nice slice of Prinzregenten Torte. Really miss Bavaria. How are you finding the cost of living in Munich after five years? Seems rents are just skyrocketing. Schöne Grüße aus Texas.
Hi guys! Recently discovered your channel while doing research for our upcoming vacation in Germany. And my goodness! the quality of your videos is top notch - both presentation and videography wise. Love you both😊
We're moving to Munich from the US in the next few months and this is the exact kind of content I'm looking for! Thank you for sharing this experience. Loving your channel!
My daughter and I were in Fussen for a week the first part of Sept. saw the castles, did a couple of bike rides. It was a great trip but I feel like we missed so much. It’s so beautiful in that area and there’s so much to do! We learned some great lessons about travel and suitcases! And yes, the train system is amazing and really so easy to use. Next time though, I need to figure out the train passes because it can get expensive. That cake looks so yummy!
Lovely share, the castle ruin is really worth the hike.I feel that the view is the icing on the cake(not your cake lol)really worth the effort to get up there. Really appreciate the share and I'm looking forward to future videos and to enjoy your adventures through your lenses. Greetings from Switzerland
I absolutely love that you do Videos on places no other blogger would dare to go. Even as a resident of Upper Bavaria and beeing a born Regensburger your videos always have something in them, like a Café, a castle etc I haven't known of before. As you said in one of your vids, if you go wide, you can't go deep. What does it matter that you are only a relatively small channel. Let the City hoppers and 5-countries-in-two-days-travellers watch the other channels. The people who are interested in the stuff you show will enjoy watching your channel even more so.
Great Video as always. What I love about your channel is that you use public transport like Trains to get get to your destinations which is really helpful for folks like me who can’t drive. I live in Holzkirchen so this is quite near to me and I’d be definitely doing this trip. Thank you and keep exploring!
Hey guys I am from Israel as you know we have war now And this amazing video helps me to relax and hope for better times. By the way I visited kufstein 2 years ago super cool town
Hi guys, superb video great to see what you get upto at the weekends! Love you can see where you are heading from that lovely little train station! Very pretty walk, fab castle ruins! Gorgeous climb and always thankful of a bench! Wow great views, well worth the hike up especially rewarded with good food and local beers! Brannenburg looks lovely! Wow that cake looks yummy 😋 have a great week ahead! Nick and Jill 👍❤️

Thank you so much for helping us plan our trip, both through the videos and the consultation! We’ll let you know when we’re on the “most beautiful road” Love you guys and have a great week!
Great vid, especially the: bunny, CATS, cute little smooching, beautiful pastures and houses, etc. I really appreciate the walking map of your hiking route, and tips about the fork, steepness, landmarks off in the distance and such. However, I do ask again for a simple, quick "map" or Birds Eye "path" of Munich to Flintsbach (ideally around the 1:30 mark) just so that i can look in the right area of Bavaria and follow along; I assumed it was due south of Munich, near Mittenwald for example, before i finally gave up and actually typed "Flintsbach" into the search field, such a bother! ;) Thanks as always!
Thanks for watching. It did take us 2 hours to make that map in Adobe After Effects, so I think we would have to start making a LOT more money to make 2 maps in one video worth it. ;) Thanks for watching!
Love your videos but would like to suggest you try Café Winklstüberl in Fischbachau! Simply amazing! Cake pieces are huge, prices are amazing and the best one in my opinion is the Bayerischer Creme cake! This suggestion comes from us, an American family, who has lived in Bavaria for a total of 17 years. Enjoy!!
The Zupfkuchen actually looked very good and fluffy, but Germany's best cake? Hm, I would be surprised if it were even better than the one from Winklstüberl in Fischbachau (especially the Bayerische Vanilletorte 😋). You shouldn't miss the gigantic collection of historic coffee grinders there either. And the advantage: you can take the public bus right to the door! 😄
You are the second person to recommend this place! I have starred it on google maps. Looks like it has 6,000 reviews, which is insane for a village! :O
Im a local and i just skipped through your videos. You have been to a lot of places but some you closely missed. This might be some suggestions. 1) Osterseen (Easter Lakes) - These are really beautiful lakes about 5km south of Starnbergersee. Thats about half way to Garmisch from Munich. You can go there by the train to Garmisch or the S-Bahn to Tutzing and then swap train and in 15 minutes you are there. Then walk like 15 minutes. 2) Seems you have been to Alpsee in Immenstadt i believe. Thats the train to Lindau. In Immestadt you can swap the train and go to Oberstdorf. Thats in a valley surrounded by big mountains. Its massive. Really beautiful mountains. 3) Since you already took the train to Immenstadt, why not continue to Lindau in the same train. If you havent been there you will regret it. Lindau is a old town on an island in lake constance and really beautiful. You can also take boat rides there to all the cities on the lake. Closest to Lindau is Bregenz and there is a mountain with a cable car from which you have an insane view. There is also a city called Konstanz and this one is really old. It didnt get bombed in WW2 because its on the swiss border so there are really old buildings. But Lake Constance (Bodensee) is huge. If you want to see everything it takes you more than a week. A daytrip farther than Lindau or Bregenz i wouldnt suggest. But you can camp in a tent on the shores in lindau if you dont want to go to a hotel. Its better in the summer btw. 4) Sylvenstein lake has the most turquise color of all. Its really beautiful but they built a street over the middle of the lake ;D. 5) Bat Tölz or Miesbach are very old towns. Bad Tölz is a bit bigger. The Isar goes through there from Sylvenstein lake and then to Munich. The old town is really beautiful. Its the same train that goes to Tegernsee, just enter the other car of the train before it gets split up. 6) Also near Bad Tölz there is the mountain Brauneck. Thats also a nice mountain for summer and winter. 7) Chiemsee and/or Rosenheim 8) Winklmoosalm. Thats south of Chiemsee lake and you almost drove past it on the way to Kufstein. This alm is really famous around people from Netherlands for some reason. Very beautiful views on the Steinplatte mountain. You can even drive your car up there, walk or go by cable car. The best thing about it is the food. In my opinion what you can eat there is the best beef in bavaria. Its from the cows you will meet there, that roam the hills all summer long and only in winter they go to a shed. There are tons of hiking trails too. I think this one is better by car. But you can go there by train. If im not wrong you have to get into the train to Kufstein, then get off at Prien (Chiemsee) and then take a bus into the valley. Dont miss out on this one. 9) Landsberg (Lech) is also a nice city to visit. Its funny how close you missed all that
I wouldn’t say missed :) a lot of those are on our to do list but time, money, and trying to be somewhat strategic about which topics we choose to cover and when keep the list in constant flux. I really enjoy the content on this channel and how you guys are "slow travelers." However.......toning down the commercial ad voice would really be helpful. Keep up the great work and the graveyard reviews (hilarious).
Well…..I’ve got bad news…..if what you are calling the commercial ad voice is what I think it is then this video was already a serious attempt to meter and use it less than we usually do. If this didn’t do it for you, then idk man I’m giving it all I’ve got. We are constantly striving to improve video after video, but the time and effort to reward ratio is pretty damn low, lol. The perspective I come from though too is that ultimately, this isn’t a vlog, this isn’t just us chilling and going on a trip together. This is me being a guide, including logistics, and walking you through everything you need to know to go on a better vacation. It’s less entertainment-y than a lot of other channels, but to me that’s our differentiator. Frankly, 90% of the travel channels out there don’t give a damn about you the audience or your future travel plans. They want a more, easy, come with us and let’s see what happens approach. Focussing on “their” trips and “their” experiences. Which is fine, no hate, it just isn’t at all what I’m interested in doing. I don’t view this channel as “about” me so much as that I am a conduit to share the knowledge gained from our experiences. Emphasising knowledge over raw experience. Is it possible to do both at the same time? To entertain purely while also educating? I’m not sure. This video tried to do that. But ultimately I’m reticent to give up the presenter style completely because like I said, I view that as one of the things that makes us a little different than most of the faffing about on holiday travel channels. -- if you are referencing my level of enthusiasm though, that’s genuine and literally can’t be removed. Ah damn. I thought you meant something else. Nothing I can do about the enthusiasm though, that very well might be the most genuine part of the whole video. The least scripted or rehearsed. We’ve shot plenty of videos that will never see the light of day because I just didn’t believe they were worth anyone’s previous time. At a "Bäckerei", a baker, you'll get only a basic variation of cakes. For more you have to go to a "Konditorei". There you'll find the more creamier, butterier stuff.
@@kilsestoffel3690 I was talking mroe about the types of cakes germans usually make at home, I just think they're mostly extremely boring, often dry. But yes, there are tasty cakes from Konditoreien.
