    I just got one today and it is my first ever film camera. May I ask if you have any tips in terms of its focus? Do I just focus the thing I want to focus within the rectangle box in the middle of the viewfinder? Because I have heard that sometimes its autofocus isn't that accurate and even if you place the thing in the rectangle box, it can still get out of focus sometimes. And does pressing the shutter halfway down lock the focus and then I can recompose whichever way I want? Thank you so much for sharing and I can't wait to start shooting with mine :)

    Nice video. I found one of these at a thrift store for $3 and I almost didn’t buy it cause I have so many film cameras. I’m glad I picked it up though.

    Hi! I just scored an upgraded version of this, which is the Minolta hi-matic AF2-MD. When I first tested the self timer it still works but when I tried it again, it's no longer making the beep sound but the light is illuminated 😢

      Let me know how it goes! It's one of my favorite cameras I've ever used. Can't remember if I mentioned it in the video, but I got mine for $25 at a garage sale. I asked the guy if he had any 35mm cameras, and he brought this one out after going inside to get a bin of old camera stuff that hadn't been touched in years. I can't imagine how many others have a bin just like that sitting around untouched.

    I love my minolta. I watch these videos just to watch the love spreading for them. Great video! Also, one of the great things about his camera is that there is no focus, so you HAVE to get close to your subjects. And that makes for a great party camera! Glad you are happy with it. I also love my very extremely noisy Canon MF with the fast 1.9 lens for parties.

    Why did set the iso on the camera at 100 when the film was 400?

    • @imrannuri
      @imrannuri  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wasn't sure if it was metering accurately! Better to overexpose than underexpose

    I have the same camera but with a problem.. the light won’t turn on and the shutter button does nothing. I tried cleaning the battery compartment and winding the film but no luck, I de hear the flash charging though just no signs of beeping or light

    • @imrannuri
      @imrannuri  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And you're able to wind the film properly? The only time that I'm not able to press down on the shutter button is when the roll is finished. Interesting that you can hear the flash charging but not getting the light indicating that it's ready 🤔

      Thank you! I can't remember exactly but with this camera I almost exclusively use superia 400 for color and tmax 400 for b&W

    I do like this camera, I also have the Nikon L35AF (good version) and Canon AF35M. I'd say I like the Minolta best...but close tie between the Nikon and Canon for 2nd place.

      @@imrannuri I ended up finding out! The M version just means it has a motor in it so you don't have to crank the film manually after each shot.

    i have the canon AF35M and i loved it but it has stopped working on me twice so i feel scared to buy it again for a third time so I am going to buy this!!! but i geniunely loved my canon so i hope its similar. quick question, to rewind the film, does the battery have to be on? thats my only concern if it randomly stops working like my cannon my film will get stucked :/

    • @imrannuri
      @imrannuri  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That canon is another fantastic point and shoot! Luckily with the Minolta it's manual rewind!

      @@imrannuri ah that is amazing to hear!!!! ok last question - do you know what is the difference between the AF2 and the Minolta Hi-Matic GF? I found the GF for cheaper but im not sure what the difference is.

    • @imrannuri
      @imrannuri  ปีที่แล้ว

      The GF is cheaper for a reason! The GF is a more basic model and in my opinion it's definitely worth it to spend a little more for the AF2
