    How is this not racist at all? Like if a white guy were saying this about black men? The crazy double standard smh

      Think about all the times the intelligence and well-spoken nature of Neil Degrasse Tyson or Barack Obama are touted. In context it's expressed as an exception to expectation, like the Chappelle Show Lil' Jon skit. It happens across racial lines, it's just the context and stereotypes vary with each group. And yes, it's all racist, but there isn't a double standard, the standards are like yin and yang.

      @@dontaviusgaines1238 then tell us, what does it mean to you? Because I don't think the words white on white crime or black on black crime are racist. But in today's world just simple words like this are considered that. The difference is one race cant say anything, and the other says all they want. This double standard is a fact, regardless of how you define racism.

    From Wikipedia. Five fewer than AI. Of course they didn't mention that though.

      Sanat Divekar Because there’s very few guards who are actually white that dunk like him at his height. He’s also the guard of a basketball team that they said has had very few white guards.

    • @rashb3994
      @rashb3994 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Sanat Divekar Talking about race in basketball in a positive way is great because it gives other groups some shine and inspiration. The Jeremy Lin phenomenon was a really fun thing in hoops because it was so rare. No way Jeremy Lin would've got the attention if he was just another brotha. That's was like 7 games where a boy next door looking Asian guy was destroying everybody in the game. We hadn't seen that before. I was excited as a brotha, so I can't imagine how many Asians were inspired. Seeing a white guy throw down like this is fun and great hype for the game. Highlighting what makes him different is part of the game. That is hoops culture.

    • @shinyguy1
      @shinyguy1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      rash b no that’s a lame ass excuse for racism. Also, Jeremy faces ridiculous racism in basketball. He won Northern California player of the year and didn’t get a single D1 scholarship. I looked up others who won that award in high school. He’s the only person ever with that accolade without a D1 scholarship. He also got stopped at the players only entrance multiple times when he started playing in the NBA. You saying he wouldn’t have gotten that attention as a black player makes you sound like a racist. He broke records for scoring for anyone in their first starts. There’s affirmative action for black people in universities and it makes it harder for Asians even more so than white people. The whole point of the civil rights movement is to not have race be a factor. Nobody goes to black doctors who perform a successful surgery like, “ wow didn’t expect that from you! I’m impressed!”

      He was listed at 6'1" his senior year. Maybe he grew some. In 1979, my HS team played against Baker HS (Oregon) that boasted two of the National HS starting guards. One was 5'8 and the other 5'7" and they both could dunk behind their backs. Both were white and short and I think led their team to an Oregon State Championship. One was named Colby Morris (I think). Their girl's team featured Karla Taylor who sportswriters voted the best female basketball player in the state of Oregon (both HS and College). I can't find any news on how they did in college though.
