My maternal grandfather, Vincenzo Checca, wss born in Pettorano sul Gizio in 1894. I was going to retire to Italy. It would have been easy for me as I have UK citizenship, but BREXIT threw a spanner into my plans. I'm retiring to Argentina instead, next week!
@@mrbushlied7742 I’m sorry you can’t retire there, but Argentina will be great too! Hopefully, you can still find time to visit Pettorano! Congratulations on retiring and enjoy!
Thanks for sharing! It’s a good glimpse of this lovely Italian town
Awe. Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it!
This is where my maternal grandparents grew up. Came to America in 1922.
My father’s parents were from Sulmona.
🙏🏼 🇮🇹 ❤
@@fattoria_di_bastoni Thanks for sharing! Our grandparents probably knew of each other’s families! The town is so lovely!

@@oddicris Thanks! I visited Pettorano in October, 2012. I've retired and arrive in Buenos Aires on Saturday morning!
Where did all the people go?
Haha. Yeah, it is a very small town. There are people still there, but not nearly as much as there was before.
