    This is where my maternal grandparents grew up. Came to America in 1922.
    My father’s parents were from Sulmona.

    My maternal grandfather, Vincenzo Checca, wss born in Pettorano sul Gizio in 1894. I was going to retire to Italy. It would have been easy for me as I have UK citizenship, but BREXIT threw a spanner into my plans. I'm retiring to Argentina instead, next week!

      Haha. Yeah, it is a very small town. There are people still there, but not nearly as much as there was before.
